The Children of the Warp, Skaven Civil War.

A Time To Heal – Pawed by Vang Three Claws:

Warlock Engineer Master Skarvile crouched down. He is perched on the exposed bone sternum of a massive corpse, a corpse that had once been the Enormouse. He peers into the ruined chest cavity of the creature and probes the charred flesh around the remaining bones of the rib cage with a clawed finger. The flesh responds with a wet squish as pus oozes from the open wounds around the burnt flesh. The warlock engineer shakes his head in dismay.

No-no, this would not-not do at all-all. It would all-all need to be fix-fixed, quick-quick. Ribs extended and fix-fixed, new skin to stretch-cover the abdominal cavity-hole. The circu-blood, force-power, and move-move systems would have to be scratch built from the best-best Skryre Techno-Sorcery.

The warlock produces a lead stick and tablet from the folds of his robed and scribbles a few quick notes.

Ribs reinforced/replaced, pig iron.
Chest cavity rebuild, warplightning generator – vent through back.
Blood tubes, Rat Ogre & Skryre hydraulics.
Reinforce legs/arms, technomancy. Tie to generator.
Rebuild chest, Rat Ogre muscle & skin, iron plate.

The warlock engineer spins on the balls of his feet and turns towards the beast’s head. The right side of the creatures head is a mess of bone and charred gristle. The right eye gone, the skull cracked.

It would all-all need replaced or fix-fixed. A new tele-telescopic eye-thing, metal patch for the skull…

Skarvile grabs the remains of the creature’s upper lip and yanks upward with his left paw. A handful of flesh sluices away in his hand. The warlock tosses the gobbet of flesh to the floor and forces his hand up under the jaw. He pushes the massive mouth open a fraction and peeres inside.

Hmmm… quite a few teeth-fangs missing or broke-damaged, jaw crack-cracked. A shiny-new metal jaw with replaceable teeth-fangs seemed in order.

As Master Skarvile lets go of the jaw, he notices a handful of maggots swarming in the flesh of the corpse’s nose. The warlock grabs a cleaver from his belt with his right hand and WACKS off the flesh to the bone beneath.

New nose, too…

Out comes the lead pencil and notebook for a few more entries.

Salvage left eye if possible. Throtvile evaluate.
Right eye, bionic.
Patch skull, iron.
Design jaw w/ replaceable teeth, TBD.
Nose & sensory organs, evaluate, reconnect to brain?

Skarvile scampers down from his vantage point and returns to the laboratory floor. He smooths his soiled butcher’s apron and scurries over to the Enormouse’s right shoulder. The creature’s right arm is completely gone.

Arm-arm need to be replaced and graft-stitched to remains of shoulder-bit.

The warlock clips the cleaver back on to his belt and retrieves a set of fine flensing knives. He cuts away a sample of the skin and muscle remaining on the shoulder and drops them into a nearby metal pan along with the knives.

He draws the lead stick and tablet out from his robes and hurriedly scratches a few more notes.

Right arm, bionics – reinforce and tie to generator.
Possible graft to existing bone & tissue? Evaluate.

So-so much work-work to be done.

The warlock grabs the metal pan and hurries across the laboratory floor to a series of worktables. They’re covered with jars, vials, flasks, beakers, and other laboratory apparatus. Most of the containers are filled with a greenish-yellow liquid in which float brains, kidneys, hands, feet, the occasional head staring back through the glass, the organs, tissues, and body parts of various races, and even a dead cat or two. Skarvile passes them all by and grabs a flask full of solvent to which he adds a sample of the muscle scraped from the Enormouse’s shoulder. As the tissue dissolves, the solution turns a vile green. Skarvile shakes his head disappointedly and swirls the flask around before jamming a stopper attached to a series of copper tubing into the opening. He then slides the flask under a low flame and walks down the workbench, passing a series of tubes and contraptions that will separate and distill the components in the flask.

As the warlock engineer reaches the end of the apparatus, a fatty yellow liquid begins to drip from the end of the tubing in to a waiting beaker. Skarvile grabs a glass slide, smears a dab of the fluid on to the slide, and places it under a microscope.

The warlock scratches even more notes in to his lab notebook as he inspects the sample on the slide.

Right shoulder graft. Not optimal.
Must use. Not time replace.
Graft metal to bone & reinforce.
Body can’t wait.

As the last line is written, Skarvile pops up from the bench and scurries towards the corpse of the Enormouse.

So-so much to do-do…
