Hi my name is Kyle Oberst. I'm 43 year old ex Marine and drive truck for a living. I have always loved the 40k art work. In October I purchased the video game and was hooked. I have read some of the books (Rinns World is great) and want to take the next step in the hobby. My other hobbies are WWII reenacting, home improvement, military history and guns.

We always say in reenacting don't buy anything until we tell you. This is so you don't get the wrong or unnessary stuff. Plus there are always better places to get you goods. (Ebay seems to be cheeper)

So can anybody show me the ropes.

I'm a boot not a shower shoe

Welcome to the forums.. How did you hear of us?.. I'm sure there are many people here that will do a much better introduction than I can.
As for starting in the hobby, you gotta start somewhere. Are you interested in Sci-Fi or fantasy?

I right now am in love with warhammer 40k. I want to find some people that play the game in the Downingtown area so I can sit in and see if this is for me.
I found out in my DnD days its all about the people that you are with. I want to find a serious group that is still fun to be with. No use spending alot of money to find your group fights all of the time

I got your groups info from the Games Keep in west chester

Hope to see you soon

Kyle

Hi Kyle,

Welcome to our forums. Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been a bit negligent the past few months in keeping up with the forums. I need to tidy up a bit around here.

I believe that you met Eric C. at Showcase recently during a tourney. He forwarded your email to me and I'll be responding shortly.

Hope to get together with you sometime soon.

Cheers,
Zak

Thank You,

I am right now trying to get a 500 pt force together for playing. More will be added later as I finish them. I have them bought but getting them assembled and painted will take time.

Do you think the power fist is a good option for a Captain?
I know it doubles your strenght but your initiative is a 1.
What do you think?

Kyle
