Hey guys when I was at Games Day, I met one of the guys that runs the club that is in West Chester.. I'ts a 40K club and they are very "paint your army" type club.. IMO not a bad thing, since the armies they had on display were amazing.. anyway, let me know if your interested in the Tournament in November.

Hopefully I can finish painting an army to go with.

The Mechanicon 2009
40K Grand Tournament style

Has anyone been to their sponsor...the Gamers Keep? I have seen it but not been in...it is in the shopping center with the McDonalds, Butcher Shop, Seafood Market, etc.

And yes - I notice stores that sell raw meet smile.gif

Leave it to Al, our resident representative of Khorne, to reach out to another club with tact and diplomacy. tongue.gif

I didn't realize that there was yet another club in West Chester and I've never heard of Games Keep. That's the shopping center on 100 near 202, right? I'll have to check that place out when I get a chance.

As for the 40K Grand Tourney, I'll pass. I wouldn't mind playing a bit more 40K, but I'm not very interested in a 40K tourney as I don't play it enough. If others are interested, by all means go and represent our club.

I wouldn't mind attending a WFB tourney if one pops up nearby, as I haven't done that in a while.

Thanks for posting Roache.

I think this might be the same tourney Mike from showcase was talking about. If I have time when it comes I might check it out but I doubt I'd play in it. I already know I'm not gonna win at all smile.gif hmm.. maybe they have a prize for last place? more tourneys should do that!

I'm looking to play if I can get my army painted and I have a green light from the wife (the important reason)
I hope to get some games in before then for practice..

I'll try to be diplomatic..

So anyone gonna be there? I'm actually gonna be free that saturday so if it doesn't end up being our game day I might head down and check it out. I dunno if there will be free tables for open gaming though...?

I emailed em and asked about open gaming and they said there should be a few tables free but it's mostly all reserved for the tournaments so I think if there are any free they'll be snatched up quick. Oh well, I will prolly stop by and check out the vendors though. Betcha they'll all be selling space hulks for like $300

i'd be interested in checking it out and wouldn't mind getting a game in on any free tables - it would be orks though - is that an issue? dry.gif

I can bring my guard. I've actually never ever played against orks in 40k. I can do up to 3k pts but maybe 2k would be better so there's less to carry around in there.

I think it's $10 to get in just for the day

Hi guys,
I apologize for neglecting to get in touch with a hometown club for this. Our club The Gaming Garage, used to be known as The Sorcerer's Laboratory and we are also in West Chester. Our club has two big factions, the mainly 40K miniatures based folks and the board/ card/ rpg folks.

Tim and I know each other from way back when he used to host gaming in Plymouth Meeting.

Anyhow we have a lot going on at the event and a lot more in store for next year so we really should have a get together of both clubs.

For the MechaniCon we will have a couple open gaming tables throughout the weekend with Saturday being the most busy day due to the Blood Bowl Tourney and the Auction in the same room.

The charity auction has some amazing one of a kind gaming related items, like the design your own miniature from Reaper. I just got the auction book PDF today and hope to have it on the website by this weekend. Admission is free if you are just coming for the auction.

There is amazing prize support, trophies and giveaways and YES there is a prize for last place! We have gotten a fantastic amount of support from clubs, retailers and manufacturers and this should be an event that will be the talk of the hobby!

Registered events still have tickets available:

Friday - BFG tourney
Saturday - Blood Bowl Tourney
Saturday-Sunday - 40K GT

We also have room for a few more demos and space for a Sunday event.

Thanks,
Tony Spino

Cool Tony. I hope to be there for saturday at least. I'm using busy on saturdays so I wasn't sure I'd be able to make it till recently, but now I probably won't be free sunday so I won't be able to do the big tourney. maybe next time smile.gif It's great that you guys got so many sponsors.
