The story takes place in present day San Francisco; the days are filled like other. Children attended school and adults their work. Tourists visit the museums as well as the shops and restaurants of Chinatown. Like any other city in the world though, this one has its problems. There is a high crime rate and the police turn the other cheek as does the government and the officials.
Below or possibly, above all of this however are those that remain hidden and unseen. The shadows are their sanctuaries and the humans their prey.
The legend of the undead, the vampires has been one that has always captured the imagination and even the lives of countless. Times change however and even those who lived through wars, plagues and hardships cannot escape this fact. With the new generations often come questions and with the old comes crudity. Sires and Elders have grown tired of the disobedience of their supposed servants and children have grown tired of being slaves. In the past few or so years, many children have been abandoned or killed by their parents and banished from their clans.
It seems as if tradition has taken a backseat to the luxuries of the world. Maybe because the younger vampires were in fact young in a time such of now or maybe, as any other creature, vampires too must move with the times.
Such an event has taken place before, though the Elders have forgotten the sins they once committed. They to rose against their sires and leaders though this time was long ago, the truth remains. The old ways must be changed in order to ensure the survival of their rare kind. Every one thousand years the harvest begins and the younger attempt to lead their kind. Old times have ended and their time is now.
Each of the young and old have a story and an unending one at that. Some were abandoned, some betrayed and others killed.
Here, a new clan is forming, seeking members and loyalties with a thirst to mark the world as their own. To become a new beginning. An uprising is approaching and the young will take the place of those of old. New ideas and beliefs are being brought to life and while the elders will seek to destroy them they will fight to live. Some of course remain loyal; some pairs have not parted ways but the rest ...
Where will you stand?
Will you lead, serve or perish?
Will you be the hunter or the hunted?
Most important, who are you now and who will you become?
No, I won't back down. You can stand me up at the gates of hell. But, I won't back down.
