It had been awhile since Lucien had gone out. The other night he had gone out with Audrina, but this was a little different. This wasn't a date, or a party time. He was a little nervous though, and it was shown by the light pink blush high on his cheeks. He sighed, stuffing his hands into his front jean pockets. It wasn't cold, but cold enough to make his hands a little chilly. He wore simple jeans, a dark wash. His torso was hidden by a black t shirt with gold and silver intricate designs on the front, continuing down his side to the back. Over that, he wore a dark gray zip up sweater, but the zipper was undone. His hair, black with white stripes, flew back with the air his body created as he hurried across the street.

He was here to meet Ethan again, the demon boy he had met a few weeks ago at Kenji's concert. They had talked over the internet a few times, but Lucien really wanted to get to know him, besides the false pretense of the web. He much preferred someone in reality. Though he had already met Ethan, he felt odd chatting in a chatroom with him. Which is why he was here!

Sighing, Lucien walked into the shop, and looked around. Ethan wasn't there yet. He stepped up to the counter, and ordered his usual. A chocolate biscotti and a mocha cappucino. He paid for the treats, and found a table hidden in a corner. He would wait for Ethan, but he didn't want to do it in the middle of the room. Most of the traffic centered there, and since he wasn't the graceful man alive, he didn't like being in large crowds, because either he would end up getting hurt or he would hurt someone else. Lucien sipped his drink slowly, wincing as the hot liquid burned his tongue.

Ashton spent most of his time outside the mansion than he did inside, and that bothered Ethan to great extent. Sometimes the demon questioned if their relationship was really working, and since the demon was so close to passing his quota, he wasn't sure if he should propose to him or not. Oh well, right now, to kill time and satisfy that sociable part of him, he was going to meet Lucien, that one guy whom he had met in the backstage of Ken's party. Ethan had spoken to Lucien over the internet, and they both planned to meet at the Coffee House, which was a decent place to sit around and talk over a hot cup of joe.

Being taken to the spot by limousine transport, Ethan got out and put on his black leather jacket. He sighed, a cloudy fog escaping his mouth in the process. "I told you, I don't care if the stock prices rose by three points. It's not enough." Ethan argued, although not sounding really angry, but just upset. He turned his head to look through the windows of the coffee house, knowing that Lucien was already here. Great... hopefully I'm not late. He though to himself, shooting his sights back on his chauffeur. "Wait here. Go find something to do, maybe drive over to the Red Light District," Ethan jokingly suggested, smirking when he saw his driver roll his eyes and smile.

Ethan was dressed rather casually tonight, looking professional in a suit during this time of day would probably attract the wrong attention, and no doubt some lowlives roaming the street. Not like the local police force could successfully quell a vampire or demon problem for that matter. Ethan wore a dark blue polo shirt which was not entirely button to the rim, but less than halfway, dark jeans complimented the look along with his black low cut boots. Entering the shop, people near his proximity gave him curious looks, most of them smiled when they recognized that it was that Ethan guy who helped the poor and changed the state of this city in a good way. The demon scanned the room for Lucien and was met with a few loud statements coming his way, "Hey. It's the Ethan guy! The man who helps the poor! Someone give him a free cup of coffee." Ethan chuckled and graciously declined, but saw Lucien sitting down at an empty table and waved before walking over to him.

Hardly the impatient kind of person, Lucien sat there idly, keeping himself busy by doodling on the napkin with a pencil he had found on the floor. He was drawing himself in a field of flowers, leaping all over the place. Yes, he was a little odd, but hey, he liked it. A lot of people liked his childlish acts too, mainly because though Lucien was a little childlike, he was very mature and could hold an actual conversation. Though he tended to be a bit random and ridiculous at times.

A little too entranced by his drawing, he hadn't noticed that his friend had entered the shop until someone had called them male's name. Lucien looked up quickly, smiling as people seemed to crowd around Ethan for a moment. It was amusing to him. The gold giver of the town, Ethan, yet a demon, only trading his services for a couple souls. He knew this, but didn't bother with it. That was demon business, none of his business. Besides, he was a little too scared of Ethan to ask about it anyway.

"Hi Ethan!" he called brightly, making sure no one was looking before telekinetically pushing the chair opposite out for the approaching male. His eyes were bright, friendly. Lucien smiled, nodding to the chair. "How have you been?"

Seeing the young man's power in action was surprising to witness, but it wasn't the first time he ever saw it before. It was surprising because most of his time here he spent time dealing with vampires, and since they didn't possess such powers, Ethan didn't see it; there were other demons too, but the last demon he had last seen was Beau and Caale, although they've been under the radar for quite some time now. But seeing that Lucien pulled out the chair for him, was very polite, and Ethan showed his thanks by responding kindly, "Thank you." The male grinned, sitting down and locking eyes with the other. "I'm doing just fine. Feeling like I won the lottery." Ethan didn't want to make things seem awkward with the stuff he was saying or alluded to. After all, everyone had their own strange or weird moments.

"How about yourself? Been up to anything lately? I thought San Francisco was a shithole, but I take that back. Excuse my language-" He was immediately interrupted when that same small crowd of men and women rushed over behind Ethan. One of them even urged the demon to take his coffee as a sign of appreciation for his 'good deeds', others also wanted autographs, while some other women wanted a snapshot of some kind. "People, people, please," Ethan said almost irritatingly, his expression justifying that with no doubt. "I'm trying to talk to someone here. Can't you show a little respect the way I show this community the same thing? Some other time now," Ethan looked at them, locking eyes with almost everyone in that group and became satisfied that they obliged. Although the demon had heard people mutter things like 'watch out, or he'll build a slaughterhouse instead.'

Looking back at Lucien, Ethan scoffed and rolled his eyes, his arm curving behind the rear support of the chair, his position showing that he was laid back. "Sorry about that, once you attract the crowd, they won't forget you." Ethan explained and leaned forward, both of his hands resting on the table, fingers interlocking in place. "Where were we?" He chuckled, lightly laughing afterwards.

It was not often Lucien used his power, mainly because of the consequences that might happen. The wiccan rule: no person gain. Lucien abided by all the wiccan rules, though he did bend them every now and then. Pushing the chair out was perhaps a little show-offy of him, but the fates wouldn't take it as a personal gain magic use, since he had used it for Ethan. Nonetheless, he noted to himself to narrow down the magic use for the night. Unless the two were alone, then he wouldn't mind it so much. Being caught was something he feared the most of all, and he certainly didn't want to tempt it. Lucien heard Ethan wrong though, and grinned. "You won the lottery? Where's my money?!" he demanded, but it was so obvious he was kidding around.

He was about to answer Ethan when a crowd of people hovered around the two. He cringed, a male leaning right over him to shove a tablet and pen in Ethan's face. Lucien growled, tempted to elbow the male in the stomach to get him to back off. But he did not. Thankfully Ethan was able to get them to shoo off. It was enough to make Lucien wish he hadn't come. Well, here to this place anyway, with so many other people. He still wanted to chat with Ethan though. "Don't worry about it," he replied, lifting his right hand to rub the back of his neck, shooting a cold glare quickly to the departing male who had leaned over him. "People can be so rude."

Grinning, he began his sentece again. "What made you think this place was so horrible? Tons of interesting people, with fresh souls for you to grasp. Lots and lots of wiccan shops for me. Better than in Germany, that's for sure. I haven't been up to much of anything. Me and a friend went out the other night. That's about all. I'm a very boring kind of guy." He chuckled softly with Ethan, easing back into the seat and putting his hands behind his head, also in a comfortable position.

Ethan laughed along, fishing into his jacket pocket and yanked out a rolled strap of $1,000 in $100 denominations and plopped it on the table, which slid over towards Lucien. The other male might have thought the demon was taking things too literally and didn't see the joke, but Ethan saw it, but was rather being a bit generous and wasn't baiting the male to give him something in return. All that money and what else to spend it on? Real Estate? Cars? It got old all too fast. And if love could take money, Ethan would be broke. "There's your money," The demon grinned, showing no signs of falsehood. "I'm serious, take it." He urged.

After a while, Lucien asked him what made him think that way about the city, and the demon wasn't reluctant to answer it. "Vampires," The male said with noticable distaste in the word, his facial expression seemed to aid it as well. "I can't stand the bunch." Ethan then decided that it was best to change the subject, because this was after all his business, and telling that to someone knew like Lucien would probably bore him, if not make him feel uneasy. Ethan didn't want to give that impression and wanted to be enjoyed around, instead of being seen as some kind of psychopathic killer, which was the closest thing to describing him when he took lives without remorse.

"Boring kind of guy?" Ethan repeated, seeing that Lucien didn't look the type of person that he claimed to be. Seeing the way he was dressed, he seemed to be the most popular group who had connections with all types of people. "You don't seem to look the type." Ethan tilted his head slightly to the side, studying the other a little bit to the point where it became scrutinizing. "No offense or anything," He cleared up, trying to sound as polite as possible. "How'd you get your powers?" The demon asked, curious.

Lucien's chocolate eyes went wide as Ethan took out the large wad of cash. He tried to say something, but he only managed to cough a nervous laugh. "Uh..." he stuttered, staring at the money. "Ethan, no, I couldn't." Ethan pushed the money across the table, and Lucien shook his head, his cheeks flushed a deep pink. Lucien reached out hesitantly, gently placing his fingertips of his right hand on the money. "I still get to keep my soul, right?" He was sure he would be able too. Ethan, from what Lucien knew so far, wasn't the kind to do that to a friend, right? Then again, they weren't exactly friends. More acquaintances trying to warm up to be friends. Lucien smiled a little, but finally brought the rolled up bills across to his side and shoved them in his jacket pocket, then zipped the pocket shut.

Vampires, huh? Lucien had never really met one. He had met sirens, witches, demons. Not a vampire though. "Are they really that bad?" he asked, raising a brow. "I've never met one. I mainly stick to Kenji, and my other wiccan friends. And besides you, I've never met another supernatural kind of person." He kept his words a little hushed, so others wouldn't hear. Oh, yes, that was what he would need. Someone over hearing their conversation and pegging them as crazies. Lucien didn't need that, nor want it, at all.

But Ethan seemed to change the subject quickly, and Lucien followed it with ease. He didn't want to make the male feel uncomfortable. "You don't know me, buddy. Don't judge a book by its cover, remember? I'm hardly the popular cheery kind of guy. Besides, most people tend to stray away from androgyny. But, I think I look prettier than most girls, so, I don't mind it." Lucien laughed softly, smirking.

When Ethan asked about his powers, Lucien sighed. "I don't really know, Ethan. It just kind of...came. I mean, it was my eighteenth birthday. I got mad because my family had forgotten about it. I was up in my room, and thought about throwing my lamp against the wall. It just...happened. I didn't know how, or why, but it did. That was five years ago. My older sister Amelia has the power too. None of my other siblings do though. I don't know how I got it." His hands had come down to rest in his lap, and he cringed them together a little.

"No, go ahead, take it." Ethan urged, knowing that the price of money he gave away would just regenerate in a matter of hours, if not minutes. After all, he got all his massive profits on a secret branch of the United States government, that, plus he was involved with other research that was illegal. Sometimes greed plays well on the mind of one, it makes them do irrational things and stray away from sensibilities. "Yeah, you can keep your soul," Ethan chuckled, a dimple forming on his cheeks. "Just don't spent it on unnecessary things." The demon advised, that same mischievous smile still there.

When their chat moved over towards the topic of vampires, Ethan never doubted what he said. To put it simply: Yes, they were bad. Probably the worst kind of worthless scum and pest this world has. But still, he couldn't deny that he himself has been entangled with them. Killing them like the animals they were. Now, in this city, he was screwing them and being screwed. What has he become? Does Lucien know that? Is he telepathic too? Ethan had to stop thinking about this otherwise he would give off the impression that something was bothering him, and it already was.

Snapping out of it, Ethan sort of dozed away in his mental stupor when he realized that the other was waiting for his reply. "Oh... um.. sorry." Ethan straightened up, "Vampires are horrible... Most of them are, at least. And thanks, I'll take that as a compliment then, heh." Then, the topic switched over to talk about Lucien himself. Yeah, the young man was spontaneous in a good way, he stood out of the crowd, got the attention, but of course, like all demons, they lusted. Although the males who act and dress like the opposite gender, weren't Ethan's favorite. But still, Ethan wanted to look like he was interested in what the other had to say and didn't want to look like he was bored or irritated by it, not that he was, but it wasn't his type of a convo. "Oh really? Well, I could use a hair stylist." He tried to be funny, but he was actually serious.

Ethan didn't really have a standard hairstyle, he wore things sloppy, but combed them. "No, seriously, I do need one." He grinned meekly. Afterwards, they spoke about how Lucien came about to get his powers. Listening to his story, the demon became interested. "It's a gift. It's not a coincidence or by random nature that you and your sister were picked. There's some purpose behind it." Ethan explained, giving a knowing nod to Lucien.

Unnecessary things? Never! Lucien was the good boy. He didn't smoke, nor drink ( often ) and he didn't do drugs. He didn't kill, or harm someone unless someone else was in danger. He couldn't stand being rude, and was always a gentleman. The only real dangerous thing he did was dab with magic, and since he was wiccan, he knew how to do it properly. He was a good witch, and he knew his practice well. Though he wished there was someone else to share his love of magic with.

Lucien noticed the odd look on Ethan's face, almost as if he was contemplating about something really hard. Lucien wanted to ask about it, but did not. He was telekinetic, not telepathic, and wasn't able to read Ethan's mind. Though at this moment he wished he could, to see what was bothering the young man across from him so. But Ethan seemed to snap out of it quick enough, and Lucien left it alone. He wanted to ask what was so horrible about the vampires, but did not. He wanted to keep the conversation pleasant, and not anger the demon.

Well, he certainly was good with hair. Lucien cut and styled his own, and he was good at it. "Really? I'm sure I could do something. Redheads are always fun to work with. The natural texture of their hair is light, and easy to work with. You know if you would just add some styling gel into it, and mess it up a little, you would look so much more handsome."

As Ethan spoke of his powers, Lucien shrugged a little. "I just wish I knew why. So far I have no real need of it. I don't use it for myself. Personal gain, you know. The number one rule of Wicca. It comes in handy every now and then, I guess. To stop someone from spilling coffee, or from tripping, or dropping something. I guess I'll find out eventually though. I just want Amelia here to help me. She's in Germany, doing whatever she pleases with her damned husband. She's the only one I stay close to." Lucien sighed, frowning a little as he stared at the table.

Ethan didn't want to pry into Lucien's mind, because all demons had the power to be telepathic, since it was a noticable act. Though Ethan had to sharpen his skills so that he can read minds without the person noticing. But now the topic was on Ethan's hair, and it was true, he does need a hair stylist. But the compliment Lucien gave him, caused a wry smile appear on his face, which was he hesitant to show. "Heh, thank you." He said as he curled a strand of his hair with a few fingers.

Now they were talking about Lucien's psychic powers, and Ethan was pleased with what the other had said about it being used for person gain, "Ah, 'personal gain', I like that." He snapped his fingers and momentarily pointed at the other. "All that power, it'll be a waste not to use it, am I right?" He nodded towards him. "Want me to take care of that husband of hers? Just out of an act of my kindness." He offered, not giving any sign that he wanted anything in return. He was the one who liked doing a few odd jobs.

Of course, it might have been the wrong thing to ask. Basically Ethan was asking if he could kill someone. That was probably going to surprise Lucien and maybe have second thoughts about this 'friend' of his. "So are you just psychic or are you a fortune teller as well? Can you read my palm?" He asked, extending a hand out that revealed his bare palm. "I'd like to know my future." He was being humorous about it, of course, but anything to prevent an awkward quiet moment was the best choice.

Oh, he was tempted to just get up and play with Ethan's hair for hours. He loved it! Most people hated it, but it was Lucien's hobby; hair. He had thought about going to school for it, but did not, instead choosing to come to America, which was where most of his money had gone. He wasn't rich, definetely not rich, but, he had a wealthy family who sent him money when he needed it. Though that large wad of cash in his front pocket would not go unnoticed. Most of it, of course, would go to a good use. But there was no harm in keeping some of it, right? It had been, after all, for him.

"All that power? Hardly. You've got loads of power. Me? I'm just a silly little poofy haired telekinetic. And I cannot use it for personal gain, it is the wicca rule. There will be consequences if I do. And as much as I enjoy that risk, I don't like the after effects." Lucien knew very well what Ethan offered. Death, to Carlisle, Amelia's husband. Normally he would be quick to say no. "But this is Carlisle we're taking about. I hate that man. He's no good to Amelia. He hurts her. And he broke my arm a couple years ago. But...is it worth it? Does Ethan want something in return?" Lucien sighed softly, pondering the choice. He would have to think it over first, before he could respond.

Lucien laughed softly, shaking his head. "No, Ethan, I'm not clairvoyant. I can only move objects with my mind. Though they have to be under about fifty pounds. I'm training it though. At first it was only about two pounds. And fortune telling might fall under personal gain, since I'll have the pleasure of touching your hand." Nonetheless, he reached out and took Ethan's palm, holding it in his right hand while the index finger of his left hand traced the lines in Ethan's palm. "This isn't a guarantee. The future can be altered you know," he whispered, his eyes focused on the little lines. He saw some things, but nothing too dramatic. A few annoyances perhaps. But he wasn't done yet.

Ethan had a feeling that Lucien needed some money, and he thought about maybe giving a small job to him. "Tell you what, how about I hire you as my personal hair stylist. I'll pay you $200 each visit. I know it may sound rude for you to come to my place, but I can make up for it with good food? Or I can go to your place." Ethan didn't really know, he was just putting out some suggestions and experimented with Lucien's reactions. "I don't know much about hair anyway, and seeing like you know it so well, you can put your skills to good use." The demon grinned.

When they switched over to talk about their powers, Ethan's demeanor changed when he found out that Lucien couldn't use their powers for personal gain, totally misinterpreting the other's previous sentence. "Oh, I apologize. I'm sure it's just a temporary thing." He answered honestly. Ethan then saw a man passing by their table with a cup of coffee in hand. The demon snatched from his hand without the man's noticing, who continued to walk off and leave the shop, his hand still forming that curvature like he was still holding that coffee cup. Just the many powers the demon had to fool the human mind.

Ethan lightly laughed when he sort of teased Lucien by showing him the coffee cup then sipped the hot bold liquid. The demon knew that the other was contemplating on whether or not he should accept Ethan's offer about having his sister's husband dead - it wasn't an easy choice, and he would give him time to think it through. Setting the cup of coffee on the table, Ethan had his hand out to Lucien so he could work out his charm. "Well, with practice, you'll improve." Ethan reassured with guarantee. "Touching my hand? Wow, you like to act fast, don't you?" That was just a teasing statement made by Ethan just to spice up some humor, after all, the demon didn't want to make the moment boring in any way. When Lucien went on with his magic, Ethan looked at his own palm being studied, while taking some time to look at Lucien as well. "Like Master Yoda says, "Always in motion, the future is." Ethan successfully used the grammar the Yoda character from Star Wars, though he sounded like a geek for knowing the line and his movies.

"No, you don't need to pay me. I don't need it. Really. Besides, playing with your hair and making you just as poofy as me will be my payment," he teased, looking up from Ethan's palm for a second with a bright smile, then returning. "And I would much rather go to yours. I have a dingy little apartment. And from the looks of you, I peg you as the kind of guy with a mansion. I'd like to induldge myself, and visit it."

Lucien shook his head gently, rolling over a long line in Ethan's hand. "No, it's not a temporary thing. It's a ... selfless thing. It seperates witches from warlocks. A witch is good. A warlock is bad. Those who use magic for their own personal profit are warlocks, or a bad male witch. I, on the other hand, prefer to stay on the Fates' good side, and remain a good little witch. Tempting the Fates and Nature is not the wisest choice. And the consequences of that are horrible." Lucien sighed softly, tracing the line again. "You have a good fortune. Obviously, look at you passing out your cash. That isn't hard to tell." Lucien ran over a few more lines, then frowned. "I see a few annoyances. Some people have been bothering you. And I see a conflict. Between someone close to you and someone you dislike." He shrugged, shifting Ethan's hand a bit, to better see in the light. "And another little problem. With an enemy?" Lucien looked up, to see if he was correct so far. "It seems you've been having a few problems, but nothing too dramatic. If you are as strong as you say you are, which I don't doubt, you should easily get through these things and prosper in the long run."

Finally a waiter came up to Lucien. He sighed, releasing Ethan's hand to order. Though it seemed Ethan had already snatched a coffee. He grinned, and ordered his usual thing. A mocha cappuchino and a chocolate biscotti. Once his order was finished, he turned to Ethan. "So was I right?" he asked curiously, a little eager to know. He hadn't read a palm in ages, and was happy he got the oppurtunity to do so again.

"Poofy?" Ethan repeated, his hands clearly moving to the top of his head, as if he didn't want anyone to rip off his hair. He then smiled, a bit ashamed, "No. I don't want 'poofy'," He nervously smiled and in a very liberal manner, fixed his hair a bit, his gesture suggesting he was sort of a germaphobe since he parted his hair with the side of his hand, instead of using his fingers. Finally putting his hand down so Lucien could continue with reading it, Ethan heard that the other wanted to come to his mansion. Ethan accepted that with a friendly nod, "Sure. You can come to my place. When you get to the gate, however, there'll be armed guards. Tell them your name and they'll check you off. I like to keep tight security, you see." Ethan confessed, and knew that many beings wondered why a powerful demon like him still had protection... it was just all part of the game.

When the topic transitioned over to witches and warlocks, Ethan understood it now. The demon knew absolutely nothing about them, but now he did, since Lucien had went into detail with their line of work and term usage. "Ah, I never knew that. Thank you for sharing that information with me." Ethan said graciously and continued to trade looks from his palm to Lucien. When the witch had started to read a little synopsis on the demon's background, Ethan grew surprised with its accuracy. The demon was wide-eyed with what he heard. "Lucien, you really hit the nail on the head on that one. You're really good, I have to say." Ethan chuckled, pulling his hand back after they were done before other people would see what they were doing and thought that there was something going on between them - besides, it was San Francisco, so hardly anyone cared.

Ethan began to sip his new drink and licked his lips afterwards, the bold rich flavor bouncing on his tastebuds. "Have you found someone..." Ethan asked, although not completing his sentence, making it sound broken and fragmented. "Er... you know, someone to be with. In this city?" Ethan didn't know why he didn't ask 'Are you in a relationship' as straightforward and simple as that. Maybe it was because Ethan himself was going through a type of denial in the process.

Lucien laughed softly, shaking his head. "Don't worry, I won't make your hair poofy. Though I do think a good amount of volume would help it a little. When do you want me to come? You'll have to write down directions since I've never been to your manor before." Lucien sighed softly, placing his hands in his lap and recrossing his ankles beneath the table. "I hit it well, huh? Well, it's what I do. Witchcraft and the junk assorted with it. It's actually quite fun at times. I'l have to cast a spell on you sometime. Don't worry," he added quickly, seeing the look on his face, "It will only be temporary. Probably something simple. Added luck for a few hours, perhaps. Not that you need it, of course."

Lucien coughed a little, wrinkling his nose. "Damn cold." Lucien frowned a little. "Maybe I'll cast that spell on myself to get rid of my cold." Though that would fall under personal gain, of course. Oh well, he was sick of being sick. Lucien had grown up in Germany, where it was always cold. Which meant his immune system had adjusted to cold weather. Coming to California was a big change, and even though he had been here for a few years, he still wasn't completely adjusted to the difference in humidity and weather.

Looking up as Ethan talked, or tried to, Lucien smirked a little. Had he found someone? No, not yet. Not really anyway. "I found a girl a year or so ago. It didn't work out very well. She wasn't into the wicca thing. And since then, I haven't found anyone. Though there is a handsome boy I'm sure you know. Maru, Kenji's brother? I've got a little eye on him, but it's nothing serious. Just a little flirtation. What about you? Have you got someone?" Lucien didn't mean to be so curious, but it seemed only fair since Ethan had asked about him.
