Citlalith followed along behind Oristath, giving an impression of thoughtless grace. His lithe silver form glided after her seemingly effortlessly. Ever muscle was poised in anticipation, eagerly waiting for some sign. His eyes followed her as she led the chase. Exhilaration and focus kept him moving, still close, but others were close too. He hardly saw any of the others. His world was glittering red and black, anything was an insignificant speck of color that didn't fit, so he blocked it out. As he followed faithfully, the music of her voice played in his mind, taunting him further.
"
Well boys, seems you're up for my little game. Care to raise the stakes?"
"
Higher and higher, until all others fall," he answered her, his voice silver bells tinkling in gentle accompaniment to her beauty. His long form tensed momentarily as she turned, and he flipped quickly to the side to avoid colliding with her, his thin, almost feminine form definitely working to his advantage at that moment. Losing no time, he soon resumed his pursuit, threading his way again toward her.
The Platinum was not alone in his pursuit, nor in his enchantment. As he followed Oristath up toward the clouds, his other half on the ground was pulled impossibly close to Narna.
"
Hmmmmmmm, bold are we? I like that."
J'nae's body thrilled at the heat and the closeness of hers. His hands came up to her shoulders, and he smiled invitingly. "
Whatever it takes to get your attention," he said quietly. All to quickly, though, the contact was taken away, and Narna-Oristath moved on to someone else. He frowned, unhappy with the turn of events, but his spirits raised again when she didn't get so close to that other. She only taunted him, whereas he had been so close to her.
His breathing was labored from the exertion of chasing her, and a warm, dull ache was beginning to be felt where his wings joined his shoulders. It added on to the other aches from his morning's workout. If it weren't for the adrenaline rushing through him, his legs might have given out under his body's stress. In the air, though, he was still powerful, still flying strong. Nothing would stop him, and as he climbed higher into the sky his confidence grew.
