Libertas Weyr

*Libertas weyr is surrounded by mountains on three sides, east, south, and west, and opens up onto a wide expanse of beach to the north. The lands surrounding it are tropical, the weather is mild, and the wildlife, both flora and flauna, are extensive.

*Currently, with the death of the former Weyrwoman, the Weyr is in turmoil, awaiting the first dragon, Gold Valkryth or Obsidian Adeyyth, to Rise and become Weyrqueen, and her mate the Weyrleader.

*Before Gold Harth died, Ruby Hresvoth Rose and was Caught by Platinum Vesdrouth. Only days after the former Queen died, Hresvoth took to the sands, laying ten perfect, gleaming eggs... With Gold Valkryth and Obsidian Adeyyth at odds over who will Rise first and Rule the Weyr, Hresvoth's eggs are nearly forgotten, but not for long... Candidates are needed.

*Rumors of unrest and turmoil abroad have reached ears at Libertas Weyr and Azure Hold, of murder and blood, but nothing definite yet... What could this mean?

*Red Flitter Shards of Black Rider S'erin laid a clutch of five eggs, the Solitaire Clutch. (4.08)

*Ruby Hresvoth's Rider passed away in her sleep, with her dragon on the sands. She has left Platinum Kenaniath in charge of her eggs, which are due to hatch so soon! (4.20.08)

*Oh no! Someone has slipped onto the sounds, eluding all captors, and stolen one of the precious eggs while Kenaniath and Valkryth were sleeping! K'tos, of Brown Skelraketh, seemingly odd, yet trusted dragonriders of Libertas Weyr, have taken the Gin Egg! (4.24.08 )

*It seems Valkryth's early Flight has gone as well as could be expected! Though many Chased, only one could win and that single dragon is Platinum Kenaniath, making A'sariel the new Weyrleader! Not only does this mean that the weyr is under new leadership, it also means that there will be a Hatching in the near future! Candidates are greatly appreciated, especially males!

*A Banquet for both new Weyrleader's and new Weyrlings are being held in the Kitchens! Everyone is invited to join!

*Deceased Ruby Hresvoth's Clutch has all Hatched, and all have found their bondeds! Congratulations to all ten new weyrlings! New lessons start 5.5.08 OOC, so get ready!

*Two not-so-unknown dragons have come back to Libertas! Ce'dyn of Red Ishtaryth, and Ll'lyn of Platinum Sveroth, twin brothers, have returned, battered and bruised, from a place they dare not speak of yet... A Council of all Weyrwoman and Wingleaders will be held soon to discuss what this means for Libertas as a whole. They have also brought a stranger, the stolen Ruby's bonded, with them to Libertas... Medic Eloru, who has chosen not to go by his new name, will be trained seperatly from the other weyrlings. It also seems that something is wrong with the female Red, though no one is quite sure and Ishtaryth refuses to allow any near her to check...

*Libertas is looking for a second Weyrlingmaster, as well as a Wherlingmaster! If you are interested in teaching the next generation of dragonriders/wherhandlers, please contact one of the admins! If you do decide to create one, there will be a bonus! There is also a candidatemaster that is currently being NPC'd that can be adopted out, with a mark bonus with that as well!

*I would personally like to extend my thanks to all those who have joined since Libertas started! You are making this place great to be on! If you would like to recruit for Libertas, you are more than welcome to place an advertisement, but please do not affiliate without admin approval.

*Amy and I would like to let everyone know that the Bank is coming along nicely! A store has just opened up as well, with several items that can already be bought. Want to know how to make some money besides just having a certain character? There are going to be future contests, and you can always do the chores or jobs that will be randomly set out... The more people join the more the money will be split, so watch out for them!

*A Gather will be held at late Summer IC, meaning the next month! Everyone be on the lookout! Also, its a good idea to make holder characters for these gathers! While the Lord and Lady holder positions have already been filled, Master Harper and Master Dolphineer positions are both open!

*I would like to let everyone know that Libertas has officially been open a month! Thanks to everyone for making it so special and such a good place to log into everyday!

*Libertas' first contest ends this Friday! If you are still thinking of entering, hurry up and throw yours in there! It will be closed on Friday and voting will be open for a week!

*I would like to thank Bookworm and Eyota for both making weyrlingmasters! It will help out greatly with the upcoming clutches!!

*We have not one, but two clutchings this Friday! Both Golden Valkryth and Red Ishtaryth will be making their way to the Hatching Sands to lay the precious eggs they have been incubating for weeks now. Everyone is wondering just what will come of this, and at least one of the two will call on help from others, to prevent what happened last time. Candidates are greatly appreciated for this dual clutch!

*For those who do have candidates, I want to see them roleplayed! It is much less likely for a candidate to Impress if the only time they were ever played was at Touching and Hatching...

*One of the things that we need more of here are Wherhandlers! There is still one Queen Wher position open, as well as two bronze! Once we have enough whers, we can have one of the Queens Run and have even more babies! And doesn't everyone just love babies? We also are in need of a Wherlingmaster or Mistress!

Ishtaryth, a Red dragoness bonded to Ce'dyn, one of those who have broken free of captivity and fled back to Libertas, is apprantly pregnant, due to a forced Flight, no firestone, and lots of drugs.. Discovered by healer in training Nysii, what will this mean for a Red, never meant to carry eggs to term, the hatchlings that might come from her, and the future of those who might be bonded to them?

*Gold Flitter Eyota's Flight is still ongoing! Soon as thats over, we will soon have a Flitter Clutch as well!

*A meeting for all Weyrwoman, Wingleaders, and Wingseconds has been called by new Senior Weyrwoman Akayla. Everyone is expected to attend!

*Summer has finally begun! Everyone have all the fun they can while it lasts! Go swimming, fishing, riding, basking, anything you want! I hear the surfing is great this time of year, and the dolphin pod has come back! Maybe you can make a special friend with one of them! With summer here, it means that it will soon be Gather Time! Held the last week of Summer IC, it will start June the first OOC. There will be races, shops, stalls, and everything else you can think of there!

*First of all, I would like to thank everyone who participated and made great Libertas' first contest... Not only those who created badges, but also to those who voted for the winners! Congratulations goes out to Hockey for her third place finish, Thialyn for her second, and Evendar for his first place win which means his badge has become the official symbol of Libertas, and the four main colors of Gold, Teal, Platinum, and Obsidian (Dark Purple) are now our official colors.

*Due to unfortunate circumstances which include a too busy RL, Libertas has lost one of their moderators, Ari. While she will hopefully be able to come back eventually, this means that we are left with Amy and Lachesis, and I think they are doing one heck of a job, even though this is probably one of the busiest times of the year! While not officially looking for a moderator, just know that the admins may be on the lookout in the future!

*A new section in Libertas Information has been added detailing some of the natural fauna around Libertas, and while it is, as of yet incomplete, it is probably a good thing to read. If you have an suggestions for creatures you wish to see more detailed or added (please keep it Canon), PM an admin.

*With all the new additions to Libertas come new people, and some of those people are Wher Handlers! Very, very soon there will be a Gold Wher Run, so all males be on the lookout! This also means that wher candidates are a pretty good idea. -eyebrow waggle- And if your candidate does not Impress at the upcoming Hatching, mayhaps you might turn them towards whers?

*I would like everyone to welcome in our newest member, Neffs, who has already made two wonderful new candidates!

*The Gather begins June the 1st and will last two-three weeks! Any ideas or suggestions for what you would like to see at the gather should be directed towards an admin or moderator. Also, we are going to be in need of shop runners, so if you would like to NPC a shop owner, again, PM an admin!

*In a suprising turn of events, both Ishtaryth and Valkryth have taken to the sands and after two long, hard labors have clutched a total of twenty seven eggs. Everyone please welcome the five eggs of the Los Cincos Muertos Clutch and twenty two eggs of the Mythos and Magic Clutch! Guardians are being placed around the sands at all times, and its a good way to rp some of your riders.

*THREADFALL! Dreaded enemy of dragon and rider, the silvery menace has begun to fall over Azure Hold just as the two mothers have finished clutching... All riders are called to the skies to fight this menace... And it seems something else seems to be watching as well, three strange figures watching in the distance... What could they want with Libertas?

*Touching of the two Clutches will begin on Friday (Or Thursday, mayhaps, if Kae feels like it). All candidates must attend for a chance at Impressing. The two Touchings will occur in seperate threads since they are set apart on the Sands. Be wary of the two angry mothers and be sure to watch your step! The Touching will be open until next Thursday, so get your candidates in there!

*HATCHING! Yes! Very, very soon we will have Libertas' second Hatching, the first true one! I know everyone is just as excited as I am for this to be comming!

*Red dragoness Tasmirth of Konane has taken to the skies in a spectacular Flight! All males Rise to Chase this daring beauty!

*Anyone who has a non-clutching female -can- throw up their dragoness at any time without asking permission from an admin or moderator, though it is usually a good idea to tell us in advance. If you need a little spice in your roleplaying, this is a great way to do it!

*The Gather is open, with stalls and wares aplenty! Races are due to start soon, so if you like to make some easy money (or loose it, depending on your luck) thats the place for you! The dancing square seems hopping as well, and all but the jr weyrlings are invited to attend!

*Congratulations to all those who Impressed at the Hatching of the Mythos and Muertos clutch Hatchings! Though there was definite sorrow, there is also the hope for a next generation. Out of the twenty three eggs of Valkryth's Clutch were twenty one Impressions, including two Chimeric births, and from the five eggs of Ishtaryth's clutch four succesful Impressions were made. Congratulations again to you all!

*It seems there is some stormy weather out at sea that's catching the attention of those at Libertas. Being so close to the ocean, sea storms and worse are common, so keep a weather eye on the sky.

*Red Tasmirth was Caught by Platinum Idyth after her Flight! Congratulations to the two weyrmates (let's hope you don't kill each other!)

*Green Wher Sayask made her Run and was Caught by Bronze Tirask! Congratulations to the new pair and expect wher eggs soon! Wher candidates are greatly needed and appreciated!

*Gold Wher Waikask is -also- making her Run! With several males Chasing, who will win this fierce female and add to the clutches on the sands?

*There is a stirring among the dragons... A female meant to Rise soon... And the weyr wonders, who could it be? With Weyrleadership won, this Flight will determine the Jr Weyrwoman who will take the place of the all important Sr Weyrwoman should anything happen to her... Who will take this position? With two Obsidians and a Gold ready for the position, its anyone's guess.

* Hmm, it seems your admins have been cooking up another contest... One that has to do with Amaris perhaps? -Grins and strokes chin- Bet you all want to know! So staaaay tuned!

* On Monday of next week Libertas makes the turn to winter officially! This is the day that you can use to officially age your character a turn if you do not want to hassle with keeping up with it. And what... is there.... snow in the forecast? -humms- maaaaybe!

* If anyone would like to create a new wing, please recruit at least four other riders from the other wings within the next two weeks. You may choose a wingleader and second, and will also be able to vye for any of the Pretty Poison Weyrlings.

* I know it may be a little early, but just as a warning to everyone, Queen Valkryth will be Rising again within the next two months. Aertath will clutch sometime in mid-August, with the Hatching being held in late August more than likely. Valkryth will Rise sometime early to mid September, and thus the Weyrleadership will be on the line once more. Will another dragon be able to displace A'sariel and Kenaniath's weyrleadership or will they be able to hang onto the position?

Valkryth's Flight was Won by Bronze Jath, and has resulted in a clutch of 21 eggs, including a Queen Egg and another that Valkryth seems to be doting on as well... What could be within the shells of the Darkest Tales Clutch? Who knows, until Hatching day! This means that plot has, unfortunatly, been moved back a bit, and will begin just after the Hatching! Those of you involved, please state your readiness on the plot board so I know that you are ready.

The eldest Queen of Libertas, gold wher Asistesk, has begun a Run of epic proportions, and it seems like nearly every male has decided to Chase! Who will win this proud beauty in perhaps the last of her Runs?

Green Neriath is still flying! With three Chasers after her, who will win the acidic green beauty of the skies?

Red Flitter Little Red Devil is also still in the air! Winning her means a flitter clutch!

Green Glaigith has Risen for her Maiden Flight! Will friend or stranger win her heart, and that of her rider's?

Touching:

Touching for the Darkest Tales Clutch will be held starting somewhere between the 21 and 24th, whenever Kae has access to her computer during Thanksgiving break.

Hatching:

There seems to be some odd creatures Hatching at the beach, and already they have caused quite a stir! Head on down to watch the conclusion of this exciting shell-breaking, and join with the others in wondering just what these new creatures mean for Libertas!

Hatching of the Darkest Tales Clutch will be held starting on December 1st! Make sure your candidates are there!!!

Asistesk's Clutch, if there is one, will be held pretty much as soon as possible... The sooner the Run is over, the sooner we can have it, and I promise, its going to be a doozy!

Season:
Summer is turning to fall at Libertas, and thankfully no dangerous storms have struck the tiny weyr as it has in past years. Already, though, a strange cold, crisp wind sweeps in from the sea, bringing a biting chill that is rare for the autumn, even winter months here. Reports of game moving further inland, including the larger wild cats and wild whers, worry weyr and hold.

Weather:
Cold and clear, crisp. Though early autumn, any rainfall is already starting to turn slushy, a rare occurrence in this tropical area. Dolphins, shipfish, and other large ocean dwelling creatures also seem to not be diverting towards Libertas as much.

Dark Tales Weyrlings - S'erin and Shiveth, S'aarik and Ometh : Lesson 10, 76-80% of final size. Able to fly solo without a watching weyrlingmaster, currently engaged in firestone training both on ground and in air. Males are able to Chase while more mature, larger greens are capable of beginning to Rise. Capable of serving as day guard, transporting holders and injured weyrdwellers. Beginning to look forward at different wings for graduation. All clutchers/Queens will begin to take lessons solely with Sr or Jr Queen's of the weyr, including advanced mental training, basic dragon healing, and duties of ruling the weyr.

River/Muffin Weyrlings - Narue and Kyzrayeth : Lesson 6, 45-50% of final size. Able to exercise and sort firestone solo, and currently engaged in creating riding straps in preparation for first Flights.

Wherlings:
Screams Wherlings - Sworn and Swornsk : Graduation. 85-90% of final size. All Screams whers will take part in wher wings for defense of the weyr at night, or the hold if need be. Males may Chase and females may begin to Run, all ranks possible.

Pirates Wherlings - Rethe and Rethesk : Lesson 5, 50-60% of final size. Beginning to create collars and harnesses for going out in public, as well as to maintain control over more unruly beasts. Night run formations and guarding of the weyr at night will soon be discussed. Males may begin to Chase, but females are too young to begin Running.

Season
It is fall, and while usually this means balmy skies and gentle weather for Libertas, the temp hovering in the mid to high eighties, something seems odd this time around... It seems the strange weather patterns that were seen in the summer have been intensifying, and mutterings have begun as attacks of wild whers and felines have begun on Azure, and even the Libertas animals in their pastures.

Weather
Frightfully cold, unusual for autumn in Libertas, and causing many to wear much thicker clothing than normal. Powerful sea storms wrack the coast with wind and waves, and some say that there may even be snow way too early this turn. No one is really sure about what is going on and that is causing quite a bit of unease at both weyr and hold.

News
The strange weather is putting everyone ill at ease, though no real problems have started as of yet. What could be causing it? Was it Amaris killing Libertas dwellers after all, or something far more sinister? A Queen seems to be getting ready to Fly, but which one, and will the weather affect her Flight? Wild whers have been seen skulking around the hold and weyr, and frightening many, and reports of feline attacks have also increased. Weird, out of season storms have forced many ships to remain in port, and farmers report many of their crops are failing under the persistent odd weather. Shipfish have also seemed to have vanished to warmer waters, but overall, very few others have left. The Amaris delegation has returned to their weyr, unhappy but no longer on Libertas territory, and the murders have suddenly stopped, but why? Oddly enough, many people at Libertas still feel as if they are being watched, and reports of strange dragons dropping in at far out cot-holds have been reported, but never confirmed.

*Darkest Tales Weyrlings - You guys are going to be graduating fairly soon, and I'd like to apologize for not holding you to your schedule as I meant to. Queen riders, you will be having at least two special lessons with Valkryth and Akayla soon, so watch for that.

*Rivers/Muffins Weyrlings - Gonna have to talk to Deryn about you guys. You should be little more than halfway through training by now.

*Angels Weyrlings have begun their lessons, so please, everyone report in!

*Pirate Wherlings - You guys are going to be graduating soon as well. I want to hopefully start doing something with the whers soon, so you watch out as well!

***Extra note : Come on guys... We need to get way more involved and interested into the Flights than we are... I myself will be trying to do the same, but our Flights are one of the things we think about the least, I think, and I for one would love to see much more excitement and interaction.
**** To facilitate this, everyone involved in a Flight will get five marks, if they stay from the beginning to the end of Flight (end of Flight being either winning, or being dismissed by the female.) Runners of a Flight (the female) will get 10 marks for a successful Flight, and the winners of the Flight (the male) will receive 15 marks!
