World War III brought mankind to the brink of utter destruction, bringing their number count down to only a few thousand. Survival of mankind has been thanks to several different vampire houses. With time the different houses began to fight over their food sources causing a rift between them. What's more, sickness has begun to sprout in the world of the vampire, killing many of the young ones and some of the elders as well. What will the future for man and vampire kind hold? Utter destruction? Or a time of renewal?

It was that time of day when the sun kissed the earth and day was slowly turning into night. The crickets hopped their way through long grass, chirping and serenading the coming darkness, and the gentle winds caused the grounds to look as if it was swaying to some ancient rhythm. All in all it was a very peaceful scene, one that very few people witnessed due to the placement of such a mysterious place. This place was the ruins of Vtor. This aging fortress was centered near a lake, far from civilization and has been untouched by human hands for hundreds of years. The mirror like water reflected every aspect of the crumbling building and if you were not careful you would think that you were seeing double, or being given a glimpse of another universe. Now one might ask what was so mysterious or important about such a place, but the ruins of Vtor held in its depths a tomb that most people thought to be empty.

But it wasn’t empty; they were just looking in all the wrong places. At first glance the tomb seemed to be desolate, no skeleton was held within, no treasures, and no memorials, but if you were to look below the surface you would find the missing body that this tomb was for. He lay ten feet under the rich soil, unchanged, and undisturbed. The man was surrounded comfortably by the earth and to the untrained eye, would look like he was merely sleeping. But this body was completely shut down, no pulse and no consciousness… at least not until now. The first waves of consciousness rippled through the ground and trickled out into the night, halting the sounds of the crickets and interrupting the sway of the grass. Even the wind itself seemed to hush in anticipation of what was to come. Silence reigned for what seemed like an eternity, but was actually only mere seconds until…’Thump’. A sound broke the silence, a muffled beat from under the soil made its attempt to be heard. ‘Thump, thump..thump thump’, the sound grew in volume and it became obvious that it was the sound of a heart beat. As the beat became steady and even the crickets began to chirp again, almost as if they were matching the rhythm the heart made, celebrating the occurrence of it starting once more.

Blood started to move through veins and fingers started to twitch as consciousness slowly returned to its owner. The earth around him started to shift and shake, a crack forming on the surface as he demanded the earth to open with a mere thought. As the ground parted, Vtor offered up the secret that it had been harboring for years…Iason Karahalios, the seventh Vampire. Suddenly the room was filled with an immortal presence and the tomb was no longer empty. Lungs expanded as Iason inhaled, taking the fresh air into his body and enjoying the freedom that one did not have while being buried under the earth. Bare feet touched the cold stones that made up the floor as the brunette stepped out of the hole that had been his resting place for the past couple hundred years, and as soon as he did so the ground closed up looking as if it had never been disturbed to begin with.

Little clumps of dirt and pebbles could be seen falling off of the vampire as he made his way out of the tomb and into the clear outdoors. Iason’s clothes were still covered in a fine layer of dirt, but he didn’t mind too much, he was just glad to see his favorite place again. Vtor, it had always been his first choice when it came to hanging out somewhere, which is why he had made it his choice to rest here. Light grey eyes blinked a few times, riding them of the dirt that tried desperately to cling to the lashes and a smile made its way across his face as he viewed the lake that mirrored the still standing building. Ah, the beautiful lake of glass, anyone would be captivated by its mirror illusions. Instead of cleaning himself by simply willing away the dirt, Iason thought it would be nice to feel the water on his face. So he gingerly bent down, putting his weight on his left knee and formed a cup by bringing his palms together and dunking them in the water. Once he let the water play over his hands for a moment the brunette brought the water up quickly to his face and rubbed to bring his true color back. He couldn’t stop the small sigh that escaped him as he enjoyed the feel of water droplets slide down his face, getting rid of any remaining dirt that had lingered on his skin. All in all it was good to be back, now the only question was; what was he going to do first?

Vtor...these ruins hadn't been here when he had gone to sleep. It wasn't built like a traditional castle, it wasn't on some cliff, it wasn't surrounded by a molt, even the forest line stood far away giving this place no protection. Vtor obviously hadn't been built for the same reasons a normal castle was built for either, there were no signs of villager life, or any type of human life for that matter. On top of all this, Vtor certainly wasn't grand or designed to catch attention, it lack the artistic design most castles held. It was as if the place was built overnight and then left to crumble, abandoned by those who had created it. Few had come to a closer, truer, conclusion. This hadn't been built to be lived in by some noble man, or any human life for that matter. It wasn't meant to hold a secret treasure, at least not silver or gold, it held no great worldly secret hidden within its walls by the nobles of the past, it wasn't even used as a meeting place for a secret society. No, this had been built to hold something far more important, something far more valuable than anything listed before. It held a body, much like a tomb would. But this body wasn't deceased, only sleeping, waiting for the moment to awaken once more. And most would never even come to know this fact. Most would look over the surface, find nothing interesting, and move on to the far more grandiose Ruins of Pyerov.

Yet there was a soul who knew what lay here. With only a single glance he knew what great secret was held within the depths of Vtor. Though there was no sign of anything, he could sense the vibrations of the body slumbering within the earth. He held a strong bond with that being, something that alerted him, called to him even if the being didn't realize it. Unfortunately for The First, when he arrived there had been no stirrings, not even a tiny glimpse of hope that there would even be any. With a not too pleased sigh, the dark haired ancient looked around the undecorated castle. A small smirk played across his lips as he thought of the reasons why Vtor was so 'dull' in his opinion. He wasn't surprised in the least, he knew the slumbering resident of the ruins wouldn't have wanted anyone to take interest to this place. He was also certain that the resident wouldn't have wanted to be disturbed by anyone. When the time came, the body would rise when it was good and ready. With the smirk growing ever so slightly more The First chuckled inwardly how it was so like the slumberer to make him wait.

Patient wasn't something The First always had, especially when it came to something he really wanted. It took all of his not so well trained self control to not burst into the tomb, drag the body out, and shake it back to consciousness and the rest of the world. How tempting that thought was! Now that he thought about it, he better be getting a reward for being so good and not losing his patience. Oh yes, he had better be getting a very good reward. Until that time he was going to have to be very quiet, all to make sure that the dearest resident of this place didn't wake up by accident. But what was he supposed to do until then? he knew that tonight would be the night, he could just feel it, the change in the energy of this place...but it could have been at any point in the night...which meant he could have a good twelve hours to wait, and it wouldn't have surprised him if he did have to wait. After kicking off his shoes and removing all excess clothing save his comfy shirt and pants The First began to wander the ruins once more. This place was far too dull, perhaps it was in need of some color? Yes, yes, splashes of bright colors would do this place wonders! The First had every intention of adding some life to the castle, he had even taken a quick trip out to gather tons of paint, sadly this venture would have to wait.

There was silence, a hushed silence that even the nighttime wildlife seemed to respect. Instantly The First stilled himself, cloaking all of his presence to make sure that no one would be able to tell he was here. His focus then turned to his hearing as he listened, waited for a true sign of life. Thump. There it was, deep within the earth he stirred. A grin grew to The First's face as he moved, continuing to cloak himself. He had no intention of letting the other know of his presence just yet. Leaping to the highest ledge on the outside of the castle, he kept himself to the shadows. The emergence of a lone figure from within the castle sent The First's heart soaring. There was a sight that he hadn't seen in far too long. Holding his breath and calming his heart to make sure that his seventh wouldn't be alerted, The First continued to wait for that just right moment that he knew would arise if he was patient enough. And true to his thoughts that moment would come. Blue eyes full of excitement watched as the figure kneeled down by the water to wash his face. Moving far faster than any other living being could hope to manage, The First was instantly down from the ledge and made his way to the figure. A rather pleased smirk covered his face as he came to a halt directly behind the male, his right foot placed squarely on the other's back. This would be all the warning the seventh would receive before The First shoved his foot forward to send the male into the water in front of him. "You're late....and dirty." His voice broke the silence as he loosely crossed his arms. "Well, at least you were. But I guess I'll wait until you finish cleaning yourself." He smirked as he tilted his head ever so slightly. "Enjoy your sleep?" What a reunion this was turning out to be!

Iason had started to briefly let his mind wander on the things that he could do now that he was awake. See the new world was the first thing that popped into mind, but that was obvious, after all one could not live in a world without knowing it. So first things first, investigate how the human nature had changed and evolved, see what new technology had emerged and see what had yet to emerge. Even though he was a human once himself it was always amazing to see what they came up with next and it was usually just improving on something they already had, instead of thinking of something original. But then again it was always easier to stick with the familiar. And speaking of the familiar, the second thing to cross his mind was his beautiful Vtor. Perhaps he would rebuild some of his crumbling masterpiece and restore it to its ancient glory. Sure it wasn’t anything fancy or extravagant, but that was just the way he liked it. It had its own regal glow about it and it didn’t need overly decorated halls or trimmings of gold. No, this beauty could stand alone, but a little patch work would do the fortress wonders. The third thing that came to his mind, which was actually his main thought from the start, was not about something per say but someone. The first someone to be more precise.

Iason’s mind immediately went to where his special someone was and why they were not here right now. This thought actually saddened him and made him wonder why he wasn’t here the moment he woke up. Perhaps the he in question wasn’t awake from his sleep yet…but he found that highly unlikely. The first had gone to rest before he had so there was no way he was still sleeping, no he had to be out there somewhere. But it bothered him that he was here, and another thing, when he tried to search for him, it was as if he had disappeared off the face of the earth. Next, Iason’s mind tried to think of reasons why the other would be purposefully hiding himself, but of course the obvious answers always elude you until it’s too late to do anything about it. For starters he should have noticed the paint cans that had been left out to massacre his masterpiece, that was mistake number one, but his biggest mistake was mistake number two. Thinking that his special someone wouldn’t be there when he woke up and wondering why he was ‘hiding’. Iason’s eyes widened slightly in realization…The First was here and the reason he couldn’t find him was because he was hiding here! As soon as all this information processed he felt a strange pressure on his back…a foot? Before Iason could even take a breath to yell at the other, he was shoved unceremoniously into the water in front of him.

SPLASH! The brunette which was known as The Seventh hit the water and his entire front side was instantly soaked as well as a good portion of his sides and back. He had still been in the more shallow parts of the water, but it had still managed to do a very decent job in soaking him. Iason just laid there momentarily taking in everything that had just happened, letting the miniature waves he had created lap at his face, since he had gone in face first. Why hadn’t he seen that coming? The only person the brunette had to blame was himself, sure he had just woken up, but he was usually faster than that! Buuuut just because he blamed himself didn’t mean that there wasn’t payback coming, because there was, and oh was he in for it. As the wet figure started to right itself the delinquent behind him spoke, being the victorious brat he was, Iason could practically feel the smirk on that face. He was late huh? Well that was a lovely greeting wasn’t it?

Pushing himself up into a standing position the mostly drenched figure slowly turned to face his attacker, which still caused little water droplets to go flying every which way. It almost sounded like a mini water fall coming off of him for a split second before a majority of the clear crystals slipped back into the lake. Brown hair stuck all across his face at odd angles, over his eyes and across his nose and lips, and the clothes he had been wearing now clung to him like a second skin. All in all he made for a pretty pathetic sight, but as he faced the brat behind him he wore a large smile on his face. It was now that he heard the last thing that was spoken to him ”Did I enjoy my sleep?...Hmmmm, yes. I would have slept better if I wasn’t alone, but someone decided to leave me behind. I’m not bitter or anything…just saying, and you?” he asked with a slight snicker. But he would not allow the other to answer him just yet; no he had other things in mind. So without a second thought the seventh stretched out his arm and sent it flying at his significant other. And just in case you were wondering, he didn’t hit him, he wasn’t close enough for that, but what he did do was use his wonderful other worldly abilities to send a large wave a water rushing at the figure standing before him. Now it was his turn to smirk, that made them even and if by some chance his lover decided to dodge the wall of water sent his way, he had other tricks up his sleeves. ”Did you miss me?” he said cheerfully, adding a wink to the end of the question, if you could see it under the hair that still covered his face that is.

Oh yes, Iason had been quite the foolish one to think that The First hadn't been there. Sure there was a time when he had gone underground himself and slept for quite some time, but had there been a great need (but his standards of course) for him to be out and about to helped his loved ones he would have risen. Yet none of them had sent forth such an issue to him, and so he had slept rather peacefully within the earth. Resting for a set amount of time was something that all vampires needed to do, unless they wanted to go crazy. The First was actually quite proud that most of the ones he had turned did indeed follow suit and rest themselves, unfortunately not all of them had and that would be an issue he'd deal with later. His full attention was solely on the one now laying soaked in the water. The smirk on his face just threatened to say 'Silly Iason, that's not how you bathe.' With a tilt to his head he had to wonder how his seventh made hadn't realized he'd be there the moment he decided to wake up. Did he really think that The First was going to be elsewhere when his lover was finally going to grace the world with his presence once more? Well, then the seventh was incredibly wrong if he did. And with the way his plan had turned out oh so perfectly, he had to lift up his finger and strike a tally to add to the amount of times he had managed to get Iason in such a way. Hey, at least he wasn't doing a victory dance.

Now what Iason had planned to do upon his awakening, seeing the new world and what had changed, was actually something that had been on The First's mind upon his awakening. In fact he still had every intention of doing it, yet there had been a few other things he had decided to do before hand, besides he knew it would be a lot funner to learn about the changed world with Iason. There had been six others that he had needed to check on, and while he had not expected them to all be awake, he had been greeted with some interesting sights. Not all of the houses where exactly in tip-top shape, but time did always manage to destroy even the most stable of buildings. Yet the thing that bothered him, was that there were far too many young vampires, and from some of the information he had grabbed from another's mind, there was something wrong with some of them. Deciding it wasn't his place to get involved The First went about making plans for where he and his most recent lover would live. Surely Iason had not intended for them to stay at the ever so dull ruins of Vtor? Even if the place had gotten repaired, and The First had managed to add the much needed splashes of life and color, that place was not a place that The First would be happy about calling home. He could stand visiting and spending the night, but living there all the time? That was not going to happen.

With clearly playful and teasing blue eyes, The First watched as Iason finally lifted himself from the water. Iason should have known better that something was up if he couldn't sense The First's presence anywhere, since when had he ever hidden himself from the other? The smirk that had been on his face grew ever so slightly at the response he had finally received from his lover. Oh good, he had enjoyed his sleep, but he hadn't wanted to sleep alone? Well that was something that could have been easily remedied. Why hadn't Iason simply just come and slept with him? Surely he knew that he was more than welcome to, in fact The First would have enjoyed that! He hardly had any intentions of 'leaving his lover behind', is that what Iason had thought he'd done? He would have guessed his lover would have wanted to see the rest of the world, and get whatever else he wanted to do out of the way. Well, this was surely going to have to be cleared up! The First didn't want any silly misunderstandings to get in his way. Tilting his head back straight, he had been about to respond when a hand movement managed to stop him in his tracts. No, Iason hadn't struck him, but something else had happened along with the movement of the seventh. A rather large wave of water was attempting to descend upon him. Well now, he couldn't very well get soaked, one wet vampire was bad enough.

With a snicker and no thought to it, a small dome shaped barrier arose just in time to shield the first from the wave threatening to crash down on him. Now why on earth had Iason done that? Certainly not in retaliation to his own 'malicious' act. With a grin blue eyes attempted to lock with similar blue ones. "It was...peaceful. I could have used some company myself." He responded coolly with a grin on his face. "Ya kno', you were more than welcome to join me if you'd wanted to." He added with a shrug. It was hard from The First to deny Iason certain things, and his presence was one of them. Now the question turned to something The First had no trouble answering, hell he didn't even have to take a moment to think about it. 'I only couldn't stop thinking about you.' Echoed in his mind, he had no intentions of hiding it if Iason so chose to listen in. However, outwardly was another story. Crossing his arms and tilting his head to the right once more, The First put on his mock thinking face. "Did I miss you...hmmm hmmm hmm." He responded, a smirk threatening to reappear on his face. "I suppose I did." He lied. "It depends on whether you missed me or not. And what you plan to do in showing such." Oh there was that smirk again, he couldn't resist. He loved teasing Iason, and as far as he was concerned he was the only one who had a right to. "I have to say I like this look for you." Now he was just egging Iason on, he knew his lover well enough to know that he had something coming his way, especially with his avoidance of getting wet by the wave. But he didn't care, he was simply too happy to have his lover back.

I liiiiive!!! Well here's the response, not the best but hey, at least it's something to get my mind rollin again ^ ^

Why did his oh so wonderful lover insist in egging him on in such ways? First he hides his presence from him intentionally, then instead of a warm heartfelt welcome he gets shoved face first into his beautiful lake, and now he blocks his attempts at retaliation and has the nerve to be smug about it. But, despite all these things Iason still had a playful look on his face because he had a feeling that his lover would block his first attempt, which he why he had a plan ‘B’. Oh yes, he had been prepared for that little stunt and was already ready with attempt number two. ”You only suppose you did? Well then allow me to show you how much I’ve missed you….” he said deliberately dropping his voice to a very suggestive tone. Without waiting another second, the one known as the Seventh stepped closer to his lover and proceeded to wrap his arms around said lovers neck, all the while pressing his body as close as it could go…..and still being soaking wet the whole time. Yup, The First was going to be wet with him, one way or another and just to add a little cherry on top of it all, Iason shook his hair a little right in front of The Firsts face. ”How’s that for love?” he said with a small snicker.

After that was said and his payback was complete, the seventh turned his face and snuggled into his lovers neck in, somewhat, of an apology. He was about to express how much he had really missed the other when something shiny in the distance caught his eye…..Was that a…paint can? Iason’s eyes grew as realization dawned on him, those were paint cans full of bright, colorful paint. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what they were going to be used for. He and the first had never really seen eye to eye when it came to decoration and taste. As a matter of fact they have had quite a few disagreements on the matter over the years. That’s why he had built Vtor to begin with, his lovers choice of living space was far too eccentric for him at times. He preferred the calm classic elegance that came with simplicity and was beautiful enough to stand on its own, thus his choice of location and design for Vtor. So the place might have needed a bit of patchwork done, but paint was certainly not on his agenda and he would be damned, ha no pun intended, if he let his brat ruin his masterpiece.

Using his supernatural speed, Iason quickly detached himself from the body he had been hugging and placed himself next to the hideous silver cans. ” And what..” he said pointing and accusing finger at the offending cans. ” are these?” he finished off his sentence with an equally accusing stare at the offender. Now, he knew what the other would probably say, so he pre-empted him ”And don’t say paint”. Now was one of those times where you better answer quickly and you better answer correctly because if you didn’t there was no telling what might happen and Iason was holding true to that statement. The Seventh then proceeded to pick up the brightest color of the offending paint, which happened to be a bright aqua, dipped a finger in it and before the first even had a chance to answer, Iason made his way back over to his lover and smeared a long line down his forehead, ending at his nose.

With a smirk firmly in place he mimicked the older vampires previous actions by licking his clean finger and making a tally mark in the air. ”I couldn’t stop thinking about you either”
