Well I have been seriously thinking of doing a hack of FE8 for Inno's rp now that its proven that one can hack the games so it has Mag and Str as seperate stats.

So what does everyone think of this?

It's a LOT of work.

Seriously. A lot.

And there's a bunch of complicated maths involved, IIRC. I tried to do an FE7 hack once... ouchu. Didn't understand it at all.

There is a program that exists that does simple stuff for you (replace mugs, map sprites, etc.) but to do something complicated like add magic AND strength to units - not to mention new weapons or something - you'd have to understand the programming.

Not to mention there are strict guidelines for any mugs you want to add.

So yeah. Good for you if you can do it, but... I'm not gonna be helping.

I am leaning towards using RPG Maker Xp really, which means its more flexiable.

It can be done, but it is a TON of work, it's very complex and frustrating, especially if you're thinking of adding magic and strength stats into the game's mechanics. If you use RPG Maker, I'd be of less help, but I'll do what I can as time permits.
