Step 3: Affinity. Choose your affinity, and adjust your stats as listed. These will also affect support bonuses between units.

Step 4: Skills. You may but are not required to choose one skill on character creation. You CANNOT obtain a skill later in the game.
QUOTE (Skills)

Universal Skills

Thievery: Soldier+Knives units only. Command. If AS is 4 or more higher than enemy unit, the unit may steal an unequipped weapon or item. Also allows unit to pick locks.
-1 HP, -1 Str, -1 Luk, -1 Res


Dance: Soldier+Knives units only. Command. The unit may dance for an ally, allowing them to move again. Also allows unit to use Rings to give temporary stat bonuses with Dance.
-1 HP, -1 Skl, -1 Luk, -1 Def


Expertise: Acquire the use of an extra weapon. Do NOT add this weapon's bonuses to your stats.
-1 Str, -1 Skl, -1 Def


Vantage: Always attacks first. (Can be cancelled if enemy unit has Vantage.)
-1 Str, -1 Mag, -1 Def


Adept: Unit activates an extra hit. Activation = Luck.
-1 HP -1 Spd, -1 Def


Wrath: When HP is at 30% or less, critical chance goes up 30%
-1 HP, -1 Skl, -1 Luk


Counter: When damage, enemy take half of damage. Activation = Skill.
-1 HP -1 Spd, -1 Luk


Renewal: recover 10% of unit's HP at start of turn.
-1 Skl, -1 Def, -1 Res


Saviour: No Skill or Speed penalties when carrying a unit.
-1 Str


Guard: Command. Unit takes damage for adjacent ally. NOTE: Unit must be adjacent at the end of the turn.
-1 Def


Shade: Unit is ignored if other allied units are in range.
-1 Spd, -1 Def


Provoke: Enemies will target this unit first.
-1 HP, -1 Luk


Step 5: Bonuses
QUOTE (Racial Bonuses)
Your race adds +4 stats to your unit. The bonuses are as follows:

Dragonkin: +2 Def, +2 Res
Woldari Elf: +2 Skl, +2 Spd
Aldari Elf: +2 Mag, +2 Spd
Eldari Elf: +2 Str, +2 Skl
Half-elves: +4 to any stats; only 2 may be spent in one stat.
Human: +4 to any stats; only 2 may be spent in one stat.
Vertesui: +2 Str, +2 Def

QUOTE (Customisation)
Normal Units
Add an extra 4 stat points to your base stats and add 60% growth.  You may not add any more than 3 base stat points or 20% growth to any one stat. You may not subtract from the previous base stats to reallocate them elsewhere, even if they add up properly.

Lord Units
Get a Bloodline which gives them a set 30% Growth.


Final Steps: Lord Units start with their Prf Weapon. All units start with ONE basic weapon and ONE vulnerary. (Lord units start with their Prf and a basic weapon.) That is even true if you are using the Expertise skill. Set up your battle stats and post them in the Character Profiles forum.
