Lost my Cd..

HI everyone

I've lost my CD (long story short, I threw out my old computer, an my CD was in it...), and was wondering if there is any way to play DK1 (I don't have Deeper Dungeons) without the CD, or is there anything I can download/do to allow me to play the game?

I was just getting to the fun levels too when i lost the CD. ><;;

To use the Image CD, you can either burn the Image CD with Nero or use a virtual CD drive like Daemon Tools to run the Image CD.

Then, to play without the CD, you have to install the game normally first. Then, copy the Data, LData and Levels folder inside the Keeper folder from the Image CD and paste them to your hard drive where the Keeper folder is installed. Open Keeper.cfg with Notepad and change the first line as follows :
INSTALL_PATH=./

Then, you don't need the Image CD anymore, excepted for playing Deeper Dungeons levels.

Oh cool, sounds easy enough. Now all I have to do is wait ~15 hours for this to download (currently downloading at 7 kb/s)...

Just so you understand, you need to put the location of the game in.

i did that and it worked 1 time but not more:(

.\ (backslash, NOT slash ("/")) works as well as it simply says to the game that the Data files are stored "here" where the game is installed.

However, be sure to copy the Levels, Data and LData folders from the CD (inside the Keeper folder) and paste them inside the Keeper folder on your HD. If not, the game won't work properly as it won't be able to locate the data files.

Well.... it should work. You surely did something wrong. Try to put the full path instead of ".\". Remember to use backslashes ("\") and not slashes ("/").

Can you put here the contain of Keeper.cfg file?

What happens when you play the game?

I gets an CD with a ? on it wich offcourse means that it can't locate the CD

Hey All

New here, been lurking for about a week, some good interesting stuff.

I'm struggling with the above I've copied the folders from the CD to the HDD path and edited the .cfg file as follows:

INSTALL_PATH=.C:\dosprog\dosprog
INSTALL_TYPE=MAX
LANGUAGE=ENG

Dont ask about the duplication, I was new to dosprog and didnt figure out the mounting!.

Any help?
