It all depends on the amount of data you want to save. The easiest way is, like your son said, is copy the photos to a CD or Dvd. Cd's hold 700 megabytes of data,( 700mb). Dvds hold 4.7 gigabytes, (4.7gb). 1000 mb's = 1GB. So one dvd equals nearly 6 cd's worth. So it all depends on how much data you want to write to disc. The easiest wayto determine the size of disc you will require is to highlight the folders you want to copy and then right click one of them and then select properties, this will give you the size of all folders high lighted. Most standalone dvd players have a built in jpeg viewer, so as long as the pictures have been saved in that format they should be able to view them on a normal dvd player. Of course they also have the option to view them on a pc. Hope this is helpful.. |

thanks ganda, very helpful except I am lost at the 700 mb stuff.. me fick.I did all of them to test.None of them worked on my main dvd player but they all work on my portable tv and dvd. I have saved them as data on cd's now. I am putting around 250 photos on each one. |

MB and GB are just units of measurement. like pound and onuces, so many ounces make a pound, so many megabytes make a gigabyte. Your main Dvd player looks like it does not have jpeg viewer on it. Glad you got it sorted though |
