Anyone heard of this - doctors, nurses, carers and people at the death of someone have reported seeing a sort of mist coming away from the body. Here Dr Raymond Moody and others discuss the subject

Lots of anecdotes but nothing much to go on by way of evidence.

The inference is that it is some kind of 'life force', 'soul' etc, but given that there are literally thousands of deaths in hospitals each day, witnessed by medical staff, where nothing of the kind is witnessed then there is no reason to assume 'life force', 'soul' etc (unless we are saying that only 'special' people have such ethereal notions). This also assumes that things as described have actually occurred in the first place - and I would never be convinced by anecdote alone - regardless of the appeals to authority in the claim.

I have been present at the death of several people. Five in hospital and two out with, I saw no mist nor did anyone else around me claim to have seen any such thing. I have a friend who is head nurse at ITU in ARI and is there at the passing of many people, he has never witnessed any such mist. Personally, if there were anything to this, it would have been documented in far greater detail and be a recognised phenomenon by now don't you think?
