Why would it be surprising for a name to be discerned when the device scans radio stations?

I would be surprised if water running from a tap audibly gave a name - but not a radio station - especial as the the device can be scanning a single radio station for over a second.

It would be unusual for names not to be discernible given the number of occasions when a name would be mentioned in a radio programme.

What are you suggesting a name recorded means and what is your reasoning for it?

For confirmation bias, you mean. Cherry-picking is not validation. how many times did it fail? Why is it unlikely for the same name to be repeated in conversations on a radio show?

Play the whole session - not just edited highlights.

It would be more interesting if you asked more difficult questions - questions that would be unlikely to be answered in radio shows. Asking for names and then asking to repeat the same names is not impressive - names are mentioned and repeated on radio shows all the time.

We've been watching for some time now.

Demonstrate your claim with proper controlled testing - which includes posting the full session, not edited slices and asking verifiable questions - not open questions or asking for names and places - questions with a single known answer. No saying words and asking to repeat etc.

Asking for a word also has the added problem of priming the listener. You told people to hear the word Dominic and those who wanted to did. Suggestion is a powerful tool.

those who wanted to

I didn't particularly want to ... I just did. I wasn't bothered either way, to be honest.

No, they agree because you primed them. Every other time we have done this we get absolutely no hits what so ever on the target word when controls are in place. Every time you prime the listener people hear exactly what you want them to, coincidence? No.
