we are all getting programs about the Falklands conflict on TV
the part they are not talking about is the Invasion of South Georgia and the role of HMS Endurance with her royal marine detachment
could we now defend the islands again today with a task force, if we did not have a larger Garrison at mount pleasant now, i don't think so now as armed forces cut back so much
if Argentina had invaded two years latter we would not of had the ships aircraft to have reclaimed them
i was down south (the falklands)3 months after the conflict
there is more then just the islanders and british pride that we wanted to keep the islands
the fishing rights
oil gas and rights
and survay base on Antarctica

I always thought there was more to the Falklands than looking after the people. There always is isn't there? Money talks, as always. We are such a tiny island to keep taking on the tasks we do, to the extent we do.
It doesn't look a promising outcome for us if it comes to keeping claim of the Islands. Yet the government carry on.
I don't know what I think really but it seems daft to have another go if we don't have the equipment or manpower.
I really think Cameron is a bit of a fruitcake with his decisions and atcions whilst he's been in power. It's almost like he's 'playing' at being Prime minister and has little idea of it all. Mind you - did any of them
