Ahoy Ahoy, what ho shipmates.
My oh my, look summer seems to be upon us, it's been so hot down here in Devon the last few days so this morning I went outside and wet my plants .Today I have also cleaned my oven, well I started that job yesterday by putting all the shelves and bits in one of them bags and poured in some sort of nasty chemical and left it over night, but it done the job brilliant. So what next.........Im off on an adventure now. I got no car at the moment but I wanna go se Wizawaz so its a walk to the bust stop down on the quay, a bus to Barnstaple, a train to Exeter then another train to Plymouth then a walk to her house, I aint been on a train since I discharged meself from hospital about 8 years ago, I got well told off for that I did, thinking back it was a bit daft after having exploritory heart surgery, my doctor was none best pleased I can tell you My daughter just phoned me to tell me what sex her child is gonna be, she's having a Girl, hope she moves outta my house before that little bundle of crying, pooping joy arrives, cant be dealing with babies in me house, noisy bloody things. Have you tried that Galaxy choc the cookie crumble one Sherry, OMG it's orgasmic, it's fab, it's groovy and cosmic man, you wanna get a bar of that you do but dont share it hide somewhere and eat it all to yourself, thats what I do, I quite like a Toblerone from time to time but they are hard to hide in your pocket. Right then I best set off on my adventure to Plymouth, gonna have 4 crumpets 1st though, I bought crunchie peanut better this time, makes a welcome change from smooth. In't Marmite expensive and you only get a small jar, they do squeezy bottles of Marmite now, how things change, I can remember Old money and chews that were 2 a penny and the man in the sweet shop weighing out sweeties on his scales and putting the sweeties in a paper bag and spinning the bag to close it. We were the 1st in our street to have a colour TV you know. Happy days, Mind you thats when all this was fields and the local bobby could give you a clip round the ear. Anyways I best crack on now. Toodlepip. |

Morning Patrick and Horni
Patrick - I have been to the shops with my dad and bought a Mars bar Horni -your talk of the old days took me right back. I recall the local shop keepers doing that twisting with the tops of sweet bags. We had a local shop called BON BON. I don't know why - it sounds French, but it wasn't. I actually remember sometimes if I took an order for mum they would give me a bag of loose sweets. They told mum it was because I always said please and thank you, not like the other kids who went in Those were the days! Well, sometimes! Hope you enjoy your bus and train journey, and remember us to Wizawaz! |

I can remember our little shops, Gardener’s sweet shop just a few doors down from us. You could buy a bag of sherbert, any colour, or a selection of colours, all in a small brown bag and twisted at the top. We would lick our fingers and dip them in so that the sherbert stuck and we could lick it off.
