Here are some quick trifles I used to make for the kids when they were younger. Mum and dad also enjoyed laugh.gif

Place trifle sponges in a large bowl and cover with tinned manderin oranges.

Whip up two packets of banana angel delight and pour on top

Cover in dream topping or whipped cream and sprinkle with hundreds and thousands or a flake.

A more adult version is

Trifle sponges
topped with tinned strawberries.
Top this with two packs of strawberry angel delight
Cover with whipped cream and decorate with strawberries and choc flakes

Hmm, I could eat that now laugh.gif

I loved trifle and used to do them for all the family occassins, until once, my young cousin remonstrated and called me a rather rude name because I had put a tiny bit of Cointreau in the trifle.
He, his brother and sisters were doing their 'holy joe period' and had apparently signed the pledge not to take drink, (which they conveniently forget once they hit teenage) he said he would not have any of the trifle and called me another rude name, I lost my temper and told he was having some trifle and proceeded to ram a paper plate of into his face pjr-laugh.png
His father did the same to me, but I have to say that was the sweetest trifle I have ever made and shortly after that I stopped making them.

Yours sound delicious and I might have a try.

Oh, dear - a bit of 'pie' throwing that day pjr-laugh.png Sounds like fun - though maybe it shouldn't pjr-laugh.png

A few years ago I had a trifle with contreau in and it was delicious. It was slightly warm in the sponge - probably because of the alcohol.I could eat it now laugh.gif

Another trifle I made a few weeks ago I could eat now too. A sherry trifle.

Maderia sponge soaked in sherry, topped with thick custard and left to cool. Just before serving pipe on whipped cream and sprinkle with a flake. That's my favourite actually - and I am now craving it ninja.gif
