Hi caro. Snap! I've been sorting out my greenhouse as well as giving all my pots good scrub. Those have to be my least favourite jobs particularly doing the glass as all the jeyes water seems to go up my sleeves when I get to the top yukkkk
I had a good seed planting session at the weekend and what do i find today when I went out to water them? A mouse had eaten every one of the squash seeds!! I could see the little dents where his feet had been in the compost and then saw the casings he'd peeled off I've trimmed back all the perennials that I'd left the old growth for the ladybirds to overwinter in....there's lots of them this year...watch out green and black fly...they're coming to get you!! Everything is looking great, daffs out already and shrubs looking good. Lost my big Montana clematis though, old age I suspect! |

Hi Ribs...
...I love to clean out my greenhouse,it's a job I really look forward to,I do an end of Summer clean out,so as I can over winter some of my less hardy plants that I bring in that are in pots...then the spring clean out... Oooh Ribs...I can't even stand to even think about mice, they would frighten me half to death...thank goodness I have not got that problem... Hope you find a way to exterminate them... Unfortunately I have lost one of my Hydrangeas,so I am going to take the Daphane out of the pot it is in,and put it in the spot where the Hydrangea was, making sure I put in some fresh compost mix into the soil, with some Blood fish and bone...will do that at the weekend, weather permitting.... The other Hydrangeas are fine,so I have taken off their heads... as we are on the South Coast I think they will be fine...(not much frost where we are..)Hubby will be cutting back the Ivy on the shady nook within the next week or so,when the birds have taken off all the berries...that's after painting the gnomes... Catch up again soon...take care Ribs... |

Hello again...gosh the week has gone quick...
Planning to sow flower seeds in the greenhouse this weekend,so will be a busy bee... Also need to put the Daphane into the ground, from a pot... I'm sowing some sweet peas.and I will tidy up the Geraniums that were over wintered, also putting them into fresh compost,to start them off again...they gave such a lovely show last year... I see the Bleeding Heart has broken through, they look good...Snowdrops looking good too,and most of my tiny daffs are shaking their heads in the light wind we have at the moment...and the Bluebells are thick with leaves but no flower heads as yet... I do so love the spring...so much to do,and sometimes so little time... Enjoy the weekend, and take care... |

Hi caro
How's your garden coping with all the rain and wind that we've had lately or hasn't it been too bad where you are? My perennials are coming up ok but all the seeds I planted seem to be rotting in the ground!! Oh well..back to square one! and fingers crossed for some warmer weather soon |

All this lousy weather has caused havock in our garden. Lupins and other tall plants are flattened and the vegie patch does not look too healthy either. Spent yesterday staking up a lot of things. Showery again today so will spend time in the greenhouse talking to my tomato plants LOL.
