I agree. If it is to entertain an audience then it must be entertaining. You don't want rational people who will point out likely explanations.

I long for a paranormal show that really honestly looks for alternative explanations.

At least that way if they dont find any its more interesting.

I'm not sure that would be entertaining. I've investigated lots of places and when something odd happens we going looking for the cause. It's very entertaining to be involved. I'm not so sure if it would be to watch. Having said that, we do have a lot of very entertaining characters.
