GUILTY i admit i do judge a manga by its cover but!!
i have read some that does not look good but was really amzing! so just to tell everyone try it dont judge a book by its cover =D Nica: I changed the title to make it clearer. |

I usually do because I don't have that much money to spend but I do look at the blurb on the back too. But the good stories are usually ones that I read online and then decided afterward that I wanted to both support the mangaka and have the hard copy in my hand so I can mindlessly giggle over it under my covers. However, I randomly picked 'Superior' by Ichtys off the shelf and I really liked the story.

hate to say it but i do judge a book by its cover. but if it's a mangaka i like and the cover is so so ..i would still give it a try since i know the mangaka's style ..

wah! i do judge a manga by its cover..i'm guilty of that...but sometimes you never know what the story is about..it might be interesting even if the cover isn't that nice

I judge mangas on art and plot. I usually read the synopsis before I read any mangas, but for me, its the art style that almost always matters. If the art is good, I can overlook any kind of horrible plot. XD
So in short, I DO judge a manga by its cover.. but I do so because of the art style.  |

I hardly judge manga by its cover. You never know if the manga does have a good plot or not. I'm more concern about the story than the artwork.

sometimes the art just doesnt look all awesome but then when i end up reading it the story is just amazing |

there's no way i wouldn't. i get my manga by going to mangaupdates, and i see how the artwork is by the cover before i ever go to the scanlation group's site to dl it. there were some occassions where there wasn't a preview pic of the cover, and i find the summary and genre to be interesting, but that's just special occassions. it's rare for me to like a manga without liking the pictures, but i do have em. ie. boys over flowers

I've been guilty of that. I mean one of the things that attracts me to a new unknown manga would be the art/cover. If the cover looks good, then I'll read the synopsis. then if thats good then I'll give the manga a try.

I do that a lot, and sometimes I find out that manga I avoided for such reason turns out to be pretty good, but still I do that, I can't control it.
