Ouran High School Host Club, the live-action series

So, this past Friday (July 22nd), the first episode of the Host Club live-action series aired. It was interesting to say the least. It was almost like the producers watched the first episode of the anime and decided to try and do the exact same things but with people. There were a few minor differences but nothing to twist your panties in a bunch. There were a lot of animations though, like a heart beating or Tamaki being thrown into the wall and pinned there by a word and even Hunny chibi-fying (sorta). I do recommend watching it though, even if its just for the experience.

K don't hate but IMO, the characters they picked looked very herpy derpy. Kyoya, Mori and Hunny looked hawt But Tamaki/Hikaru&Kaoru were not done any justice. UGHHHH. Oh and Haruhi's hair. Roflcopter.

I guess I would recom. this too. For the comedic aspect/animations, at least. Does anyone know how many episodes they're planning for this one?

you're right. when I first saw who they chose Tamaki, I almost cried. I don't know how many episodes they are planning on mking but if I find out I'll post it here.

this one is the best and one of my fave anime and manga btw the manga version has a extra story after the party and i love how the story progress i mean after that night's continuation lovevable tamaki and haruhi love story continuation ahahha im happy that they still together but kyoya waahhh nwei im totally recommend this one..

i wasn't sure if i want to watch it or not because i'm still wishing they'd do a season 2 of ouran in anime(and oh how i ADORED AND LOVED AND LOVED AND LOVED the anime, it was so perfectly hilarious)...

and i did hear a lot of comments from people saying they were disappointed with the cast for the most part..
but a lot of people seemed to like the choice of actors for the hitachiin twins? D:

So I finally got around to watching the second episode. Its the physical examination. OMG I almost died laughing! It had the wig gag! It didn't have the homo side characters joke though so the wig went pretty much unexplained and was written off as a Hitachiin twin prank. But still. It was amusing.

I'm still not sold on the drama though. Its up in the air for me. I guess I like it but my feelings are still pretty luke-warm. Maybe when the next episode is up on Sunday I'll warm up to it a little more

Ho! I'm liking the drama so far. It's very funny, plus the effects they put in were great. Definitely "upped" the humor with all the wall-smashing, dark aura-sulking effects.

And the actor who plays Tamaki is pretty funny himself. I'm gonna continue watching it.

I love the anime and the manga.. The storyline of the live action, well yes.. But I just cant learn to like the actors/actress...

I never imagined that the one who played as Kayashima Taiki (in Hana Kimi) would actually be Tamaki!!! I feel like there will come a time when he will raise both his hands and try to feel some spiritual presence.. haha

The one who played Haruhi and Kyoya.. Hmm.. They're ok..

Hikaru and Kaoru? I dunno why, but it would really be much better if only Toma had a twin brother.. Toma fits the character pretty well.. too bad he didnt get the role..

I started watching the dorama, but I don't really get the feeling of te manga in it. Honey-senpai doesn't really feels convincing. Hikaru and Kaoru aren't the mischevious boys as in the manga. I don't get the prince vibe on Tamaki. It's rather fun to watch the exagerated act of the actors and the special effects, but it doesnt five the same vibe as in the manga.

i love the manga. i love the anime. love the drama? umm..not so much.
the effects were nice. the overacting/exaggerated acting started to bug me after the 2nd episode. yusuke yamamoto plays tamaki well enough. he's lively and funny. i can't say much about the other actors.

i may have had too high expectations for the drama because of the manga and anime.

maybe i'll give it another chance and watch it again..

I was wondering why they didn't have a drama for Ouran...but...FINALLY!
