Plot/Intro: Innocence is based on the manga series D-Grayman. Although the plot will deviate, and the main characters of the manga may or may not hold the same importance in accordance to the series.
D-Gray Man is placed in a fictional 19th Century England. In this fictitious world, there is a courages, yet morbid and gruesome battle being waged for the sake of humanity. The family of Noah, the man who built the heroic ark to save the animals in the great flood, has embarked to destroy humanity in order to restore the world. They use powerful supernatural weapons known as Akuma to destroy humanity.
Akuma are created from the sins within ones own heart. The Millennium Earl, or the heir to Noah's family, prays on those who cannot bare the lost of a loved one. He uses their grief to convince them to bring back the soul of their loved ones in order to the Akuma. The Akuma are then bound to the Earl, and must do as they are told by him. They kill the one who attempted to revive them in order to wear their skin over their mechanical skeleton.
Opposite the Earl and his family, there exists an organization known as the New World Alliance. After finding a small cube containing prophecies of the future and instructions on the destruction of the Akuma, they formed a collection of exorcists known as the Black Order. The Black Order uses the substance that the cube was made of, known as Innocence, to fight the akuma and bring the souls within them salvation. Only certain individuals are able to use the Innocence. These select few are the only real exorcists, while the unchosen ones remain a member of the Black Order as Founders.
During the Great Flood, the Innocence were scattered to all parts of the earth as a direct result of humanity defeating the Earl. The Black Order now works to retrieve the Innocence and fnd those who are compatible with it. Once they find them, they are registered as Exorists, and trained to become syncronized with the new anti-Akim weapon formed from the bond between the two.
The outcome of this epic adventure is up to the players. Will the world fall again into darkness, or will the apostles of God prevail?
