I f you love fairy tales and fantasy you would surely love 'Once Upon a Time' series/books because that are retold fairy tales that got interesting twists and is really unique in their own way! They are written by different authors. I PROMISE YOU! sometimes it goes out of plot..it will surely amaze you!

Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. Fantastic retelling. Luckily enough for me I wasn't familiar with the original fairy tale so I was wondering the entire time I was reading what would happen next ^_-

Oh - I forgot. Also Enchantment by Orson Scott Card. It's a very different retelling of a Sleeping Beauty steeped in Ukranian/Russian history and folklore. A lot more gritty and realistic.

I read Midnight Pearls and the book that retold the story of Mulan. The both of them were so good that i didnt even think about quit reading the books since i usually do since i dont like reading something similar to another book.

No one mentioned Robin McKinley, who has some really great retold tales of Sleeping Beauty, and Beauty and the Beast!

Yeah, I read Beauty by Robin McKinley and I really liked it (besides the fact that I like Beauty and the Beast novels).

I do so love fairy tales... With their great variety of happy endings...

i know its a little immature and a bit off topic but ella enchanted. its told in a fairy tale world and has been my secret favorite book since i was 10

I just read her "Book of A Thousand Days", which is this retelling of an obscure Grimm Brother's tale. I thought it was cool that it was set in Mongolia, kept picturing Otoyome-gatari.

Suzanne Fletcher has an awesome Arabian Nights retelling called "Shadow Spinner", worth a read if you like retold tales.

Gail Carson Levine also has this great set of retold tales called "The Princess Tales"->they're short and cute and have fun art.
