yup it was really graphic and disturbing. i read this book back when i was in 8th grade and it opened my mind to the world beyond the 13-year-old mind i had at the time

I can't remember if I read Lovely Bones first, or if I read Lucky first. Both are great. The author lived through a horrible experience that she was able to turn into powerful books that can touch others. I am a great admirer of Sebold.
I can't wait for her new book to come out, I think it's called Almost Noon. Will definately pre-order this one.

yes! although the first few chapters were sad [ i felt angry! i also wanted to kill the guy who committed the crime! ], the rest of the story was touching and overall, i liked it.. i think i'll also read The Almost Moon [the latest book] by the author..

It was such a good book. I remember I cried a bit. I didn't really like how the criminal got away...just because I wish something would have happened to him...well I know something did happen..but I don't want to give it away... @.@ -_-

I've read it two times.
I'm a speed reader so the first read was just, "Oh well, that was good."
Then the second time I read slowly and carefully and it blew my mind. I cried like three times. The movie better not suck, You hear me Peter Jackson?!

And I love the novel for making him that way, he was never caught but alas, thats what happens. I liked the book, it made me see the world just a little bit differently =). The novel did get a bit graphic, but hey, its ok?

I read it back then as well, my classroom had a lot of books to choose from.
I have quite interested in the doll houses mentioned.
