silver_deeds - May 7, 2007 08:27 PM (GMT)
There's one I saw once called Rumors. It's a farce by Neil Simon. Actually, pretty much anything my Neil Simon is good.

Musicals, well, there are just too many out there that I love!. The Scarlet Pimpernail, Working, The Light in the Piazza, and Little Women to name a few. Go see them if you get the chance!

Though my absolute favorite would have to be The Runaways by Elizabeth Swados. It's a musical and a very good one. It made a big impact on me because it was based off of real kids.

lol... This is gonna sound strange, but... My favourite play is this french one by Moliere called 'L'avare'. XD I personally loved this play, and couldn't stop laughing while watching this. XD

angelkis00 - October 23, 2007 12:31 AM (GMT)
I love Phantom of the Opera - the music and lyrics are wonderful! Rag Time was a pretty good production too, but not something I'd see again. Has anyone attended a good opera performance?

simplicite - December 26, 2007 05:09 AM (GMT)
My favorite play is the Importance of Being Earnest because it's one of the only plays that I can actually follow and understand. I'm not a very good interpreter, nor can I read between the lines very well.
My favorite musical is Moulin Rouge, I know it's a movie, but I love the music in it.

isaisa - December 28, 2007 01:31 AM (GMT)
I really liked Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. It's an interesting twist to Shakespeare's Hamlet. I also really liked Arthur Miller's The Crucible.

lola.pellola - December 28, 2007 03:23 AM (GMT)
IWONA ,THE PRINCESS oF BURGUND by Witold Gombrowicz...amazing play...haha so funny and grotesque...i love it!

midnight_rose - December 30, 2007 04:29 AM (GMT)
I really liked My Fair Lady as a movie though I'll hopefully see the actual play. But I saw Little Shop of Horrors our middle school produced and it was really awesome! :)

Sexethang82 - December 31, 2007 07:41 AM (GMT)
I'm a totally musical junkie!!!

I guess for plays, I did enjoy "The Importance of Being Ernest" and "Death of a Sales Man" was interesting.

But for musicals... I absolutely love anything by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

I just saw "Wicked," "Avenue Q," and "The Color Purple" (Musical). They were all AWESOME!! I highly recommend you catch these when they hit your town. :music:

Well, I really liked the play What the butler saw but it isnt that famous... It really funny because of the perverted jokes in it...

Its about a Doctor who is trying to seduce a girl who is applying to be his secretary. He gets her to take off her clothes when his wife walks in. He hides the girl behind a shower curtain and hilarity ensues.

kiaryu - March 5, 2008 01:29 AM (GMT)
no clue I've seen and beeni n way too many plays to decide.. but I'd say that Wicked was just well wicked.

gdansk19 - April 1, 2008 06:00 PM (GMT)
I envy the person who got to see Spamalot...I'd love to watch that one. I like an Ideal Husband and Les Mis...they come to my mind first when I'm thinking of musicals or plays. Been awhile since I've seen a play though. T.T

Mirifical - April 1, 2008 09:32 PM (GMT)
I love the musicals The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, and Spring Awakening.

pawininp - May 19, 2008 04:18 PM (GMT)
I preferred musicals to plays since I love singing and dancing.

My favourite is Cats.

I also enjoy Lion King (but I'm a sucker for Disney's anyway...)

voodoo_buddha - June 11, 2008 09:59 PM (GMT)
Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All

That was some seriously twisted and funny stuff.

milmirjia - July 22, 2008 10:26 PM (GMT)
Well, ANY play of Shakespeare I'd say.

I just saw Hamlet performed by only seven actors and it was awesome, funny and totally worth the time and money. In fact I saw several other plays of Shakespeare performed by this group and it'S always a great experience.

galiator - July 28, 2008 03:55 AM (GMT)

winternite - August 21, 2008 11:52 AM (GMT)
Phantom of the Opera and Sound of Music would be at the top of my list.
And then there's the modern Drumline and Step Up.

I don't live near a theater, so I don't really get to watch any live musicals. T.T

kamiyuki - August 25, 2008 05:36 PM (GMT)
Some new musicals that i like are:

Avenue Q --> absolutely hilarous! It's like a spoof, perverted version of Sesame Street! :hahaha:

Wicked - the songs are amazing

Spamalot --> another hilarious play

yoh_mama - August 26, 2008 03:08 AM (GMT)

classicorner - February 24, 2009 05:04 PM (GMT)
Musicals by Andrew Lloyd Weber.. especially Phantom of the Opera.. ^^

Mags3Leprechaun - March 15, 2009 05:24 AM (GMT)
The Glass Menagerie, A Raisin in the Sun, and Arsenic and Old Lace are some of my favorite plays. For some reason my all time favorite is Hamlet, probably because we had to read it so many times in school and it just stuck.

angelwriter - March 23, 2009 07:43 AM (GMT)
do ballet's count?
my fave is swan lake =)

dragontuz1 - April 19, 2009 03:01 PM (GMT)
I agree with simplicite - the Importance of Being Ernest would have to be my favorite. My reason being because Oscar Wilde is hilarious! He definitely had a disdain for the world he lived in during Regency England. He's also the one who said, "I think God in creating Man overestimated His ability." How could you not love a play written by someone who said that?!

michan101 - September 6, 2009 01:32 AM (GMT)
I love Avenue Q because I can listen to the songs over and over and still find them funny. The latest one I've seen is called Tick Tick Boom, it's got a great mix of drama and humor in it.

ssaavy - August 9, 2010 10:25 PM (GMT)
i see i'm not the only one who finds The Importance of Being Ernest to be there favorite play! one of the best satires i have ever read. the wit and humor are all spot on. every line counts, despite the overall light hearted and overall frivolous tone of the play. Bunburying is one of my favorite terms! i wish i could use it all the time, rolls off the tongue so easily somehow.. haha.
