Title: Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep
Description: I finished the game, so...

kamikei7 - February 7, 2010 08:10 PM (GMT)
Just finished Birth by Sleep 2 days ago, so if anyone has any questions, or would like to talk about it, that'd be awesome!!

I seriously think BbS might be my favourite KH game so far though. The story and the Command system were both very good.

WHA!!! I didn't even hear of this!!! What platform is this on?! :omg!:

I want it!!!

kamikei7 - February 10, 2010 06:36 AM (GMT)
It's on PSP...it was released in Jan. in Japan (so I ordered it, lols), but I heard that it might be coming out in NA in June-ish?

It's an amazing story; loved it!!

Sexethang82 - February 10, 2010 04:29 PM (GMT)
Sweet!!!

Thank god I bought a PSP!!! :music:

I really should get to finishing KH2 though...I am at the end of the game and never got around to finishing... T.T

kamikei7 - February 11, 2010 06:06 PM (GMT)
Yeah, finishing KH2 is a good idea :D

In any case, the secret ending of Birth by Sleep makes a lot more sense if you have finished KH2. Speaking of the secret movie, the easiest way to get it in BbS is to finish the three characters' stories on Proud mode.

I personally thought it'd be a major struggle at first (read: I'm not a hardcore gamer at all), but the new Command system means that if you can get your hands on some really good commands, then you're pretty much set. Seriously, if I could finish it on Proud mode (well, OK, I died several times.. >>"), then anyone could. :D

In case you're wondering about the character thing (e.g. Why the heck are there 3 characters?!), the story of BbS takes place about 10 years before KH1, and fills in some backstory. There are 3 characters called Terra, Aqua and Ventus who have very different fighting styles, and you get to play all three of their stories, which intersect at different points.

Just watching the story part of it is amazing, because you get filled in on the details and understand why certain things happened, as you go on.

If you ever do get it (which you definitely should!!), the order I would recommend is Terra-->Ventus-->Aqua, as it makes the story easier to understand, and better. That's also the order that the producer Tetsuya Nomura recommended, so I guess you can't go wrong with that! :P

OOH...interesting!!! Now I really want to play it!!! *drools*

So I'm guessing their either Organization XIII members or related to Sora/Riku/Kairi in some way~

I'm one of those really obsessive gamers myself, so that's the reason I haven't beat KH2 yet. I was trying to get the bonus ending by completing the Jimeney Journal, but damn moogle crafting isn't so easy (rather, getting materials for crafting isn't easy when it's all the rare stuff).

So I think I could do Proud Mode...I'm a hard core RPGer~ :music:

kamikei7 - February 11, 2010 09:13 PM (GMT)
I don't want to spoil the story, so I won't say much about them, but they are original characters.

BUT, you do get to meet some of the Organization members from before, i.e. when they weren't Nobodies yet!! :O Those parts were very interesting.

Some of the mysteries from KH2 and KH2FM were also explained, which was nice. ^^

Yeah, if you're a hardcore gamer, then Proud Mode would be MUCH easier than completing the journal...I for one cannot beat those freaking mini-games at all. =___=" You need a certain score, in the middle, to continue the game and I was stuck there for an hour because I'm so fail at it. D:

Oh yeah...don't look for Youtube videos of the game!! There are SO many spoilers that people just blatantly put into the video titles and descriptions, so that will ruin the (amazing) story. :/ Wish they'd be more considerate, really. :(

Sexethang82 - February 12, 2010 08:36 PM (GMT)
Oh I hate going to watch spoilers on Youtube...I feel like I have to earn the story myself, hence why I'm still not done with KH2.

I honestly think I should just start KH2 over in proud mode and save myself the agony of finishing the Journal...but I'm almost done with the game, so I dunno...choices, choices, choices~ :hahaha:

I know it's totally off-topic, but has there been any talk of the KH franchise going to the PS3 platform? I think it would look amazing if it did~ *drools*

kamikei7 - February 15, 2010 05:49 PM (GMT)
Well, if they make KH3, it will PROBABLY be on the PS3 (*crosses fingers

The series designer Tetsuya Nomura did say that he was done with the PS2, so that's not an option, and KH has been mostly a Sony series, so I'm guessing if a numbered KH ever comes out it will be on the PS3 (if it comes out on the Wii or XBox I will be seriously angry lols).

Then again, KHIII will probably take something like another 4 years. >>" The KH team is currently busy with Final Fantasy XIII Versus (another game I'm looking forward to!) and FFXIII Agito, I heard.

It might be faster to finish the journal, lols. I think you need to find every treasure chest, get all the keyblades and find every synthesis material..? Something like that?

The only issue is, if you're at the endgame (somewhere right before the final boss? Or I think it was shortly after you get to The World That Never Was) and you still don't have enough orichalcum to make the Ultima Weapon keyblade, then you've missed it and will never be able to make it. >>" Some of the orichalcum are only in a world for a limited amount of time, as I recall. I actually freaked out and had this checklist with me the entire time I was playing, lols.

Sexethang82 - February 16, 2010 04:25 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I made the ultimate weapon, so I think I'm safe on the orichalcum+. The only things I'm missing now are 6 materials for synthesis (so i'm sitting in areas where the enemies that drop them are), 65 on that damn aghraba carpet ride (64...64...64 is my best... T.T ), and the rest of the damn Hades cups after the Goddess of Fate tornement.

I'm excited for FF XIII verses and it BETTER stay PS3. I will be LIVID if it too goes to Xbox360! You know how much fun I get made for buying a PS3? Tons!!! B/c I wanted my PS3 for the FF series and what do they do? They send FF XIII to XBOX!!! :FOOD!: :grrr: :FOOD!:

I can wait another four years...I have patience...but not tolerance for changing platforms~ Seriously, the PS3 graphics render things in a much more appealing way. Yes it has some performance issues (like any PC would) and it's online store is a pain, but I am a Sony Loyalist and will remain so. I think Sony kicked themselves in the pants by not making their current versions backwards compatible to PS2 games. I was lucky enough to get one of the last 80 gb ones that were in my area. I think I went to like 10 different stores before I found one and shelled out the $600 for it.

kamikei7 - February 17, 2010 05:58 PM (GMT)
I'm one of those sad, sad souls that got the 40GB one when it first came out, so it has no backwards compatibility. So I still have to keep my dying PS2 around so I can finish some of my old PS2 games (like FFX-2, which has been sitting there for forever, waiting for me just to finish the last boss battle >>")

I am also a Sony fan! ^o^
And you are so right about the PS3...once you play on it, it is hard to go back to some of the other ones haha...I remember playing FFXII the other day (which had amazing graphics in its day, for PS2), and once I loaded it, I was like, "AGH MY EYES" because I was so used to the PS3 awesomeness lol

I don't even remember if I finished the Hades cups ~_~ I think I got stuck because for some strange reason, the last one wouldn't unlock and I couldn't figure out why, so I just went and maxed out my summon and form levels instead (which surprisingly takes a while in the endgame because you're too strong x.x)
I did get all the synthesis materials though! :D And after leveling the forms and summons, I'm so over-levelled :P But I loved the ending scenes so much (for KHI and II) that I actually sometimes boot up the game and just play the last boss battle again so I can watch the ending movie :hahaha:

The Agrabah carpet ride I am sure I gave up on...I can't play those mini-games to save my life. There's an amazing keyblade you can get (second only to the Ultima, I'm sure) in BbS, but you have to play this ridiculous rhythm game that's driving me nuts. The reaction speed you need is horrendous... x.x I guess if I went at it for a few hours it would be OK, but seriously... >>" And getting the Ultima in BbS is HARD x.x You have to clear boss after boss after boss after boss, etc. to finally earn it. And these bosses are not story bosses; they are those extra ones that are always ridiculously overpowered. I saw a Lv70 character have their HP bar decimated to 1HP in the space of a few hits >>" (and levelling is really hard in BbS...I don't know why...maybe the enemies don't give enough EXP or something >>")

Well, at least they didn't make FFXIII an XBox exclusive. I would shrivel up and die inside. >>" But seriously, they had to make FFXIII on three XBox discs...obvious sign that it should stay on PS3. And I'm crossing my fingers for more news on Versus and Agito at the coming game thing (E3 or whichever one it is) because there has been next to nothing for a while. ~_~

Just read this interview, and since it's KH-related, thought I'd post it here.

QUOTE
-- Now we canft help but think on what the next game in the series is going to be like.

Nomura: First we have to get gBirth by Sleeph to the West (laugh) Everything with that has already bee decided for the most part. We are thinking about added a Critical Mode, and making bosses we thought were a bit weak stronger. And since Megaflare was too strong, wefll have to adjust that. Some of the event scenes wefre going to change back to the way they were, and wefll adjust some scenes so that the story is more easily understandable.

-- Since youfll be changing so much, does that mean we can expect a Final Mix?

Nomura: Well, first wefll have to see just how much it becomes different from the domestically released version. But wefd really like to be able to release one gKingdom Heartsh game a year. We donft want several years to go by without there being anything.

-- In two years it will be the 10th anniversary for the series. Will we have KHIII by then?
Nomura: No no, wefre going to keep that one a secret (laugh). Like I said before, we still have to release gMysteryh game that will connect the series.

-- Can you currently say whether the series will end with the third game, or anything else about it?

Nomura: gKingdom Heartsh is Sorafs story, but the series that wefre developing now is also the story of one other person. You could say that it is a series where that person is the core.

-- The series youfre developing now!?

Nomura: I canft say anything more than that (laugh).

WHAT?!?! There's some other protagonist we don't know about?!?! o.O;

I'm glad he's adjusting the power levels and stuff though...and it is true that Megaflare was too powerful lols...it could wipe out 2 waves of enemies per use >>"

BUT, the best news was that he wants to release approx. one game a year. That is nice (^^)b

I don't own a psp so I play it on my cousins whenever I go over but its not enough. And why on earth is the space station and neverland so much harder than the ones before it? (Ventus story)

AirbrushSkies - November 7, 2010 03:07 AM (GMT)

morninglight - January 20, 2011 04:20 AM (GMT)
I really want to play this game, but since I don't owe a psp, I have to wait until I go to my cousin house to play. I told myself that I won't spoil myself by looking up the ending on the Internet since I want to play all the character to watching the ending when I beat the game.

Feedert - November 7, 2011 08:38 PM (GMT)
Is it that good? I only started to play Kingdom Heart because I could met an old FF character (especially from FF VIII), I heard only a few FF character would be there, so I didn't play it.
