Title: A child called "IT"

sk8tergirl - November 24, 2006 11:13 PM (GMT)
If you love nonfiction book, you have to check this book out. A Child Called "IT" by dave pelzer is a really great book about the author himself as an abused child. It is not a very think book, and the reading is not hard. The story is very sad and touching.

I read this when I was 10...A girl in my class had it XD. I was really shocked that a parent could do something like that to their child. O.O I want to read the rest in the series..but it's always borrowed when I go to the library >.>;

haruka15 - December 26, 2006 09:39 PM (GMT)

OMG that book was sooo sad. T.T

I read the whole book and I've never thought a parent could do this to her child just when she's drinking and and...child abuse! >.<

Me and my classmates were so angry, we would've like killed here right now and then if we saw her but she was dead though so...yeah. But now I think he's enjoying his life so what the heck? ^^;;

ChocoCherry16 - January 5, 2007 07:07 AM (GMT)

inuwan - March 2, 2007 02:48 AM (GMT)

xiaphr - March 12, 2007 11:40 AM (GMT)
This book made me cry so hard. I can't image why a mother would do that do their child.

parov - April 20, 2007 09:32 PM (GMT)
Goosh!

This book made me so mad at the mother of how she could have done something like this to her child!

What mother could have done that to their child when they carry them for nine months and them beat the crap outta 'em!?!

Although very touching, I still like it even if it made me so mad at the mother that I wanted to beat HER up. X(

aymie - May 8, 2007 03:13 PM (GMT)
I've heard of it. I've read some of it. And I've got to say, how he survived and thrived to become ther person the person he is, is inspiring.

hollisterluv - June 6, 2007 07:01 PM (GMT)
i thought this was a good book.. it was really sad actually. there was this one part about eating diapers.. i was really disturbed by it

JNatsumi - June 22, 2007 04:50 AM (GMT)

I bet it is good and I will try to read it as soon as I finish with my current book.

blkpari - July 2, 2007 03:02 AM (GMT)

shadysgrl522 - July 15, 2007 01:37 PM (GMT)

kuteessence - August 4, 2007 06:00 PM (GMT)
OHH ! i remember reading this book last year it was so sad ! i felt so sorry for the little boy & i hate his evil mother ! *stab*

konektikat - August 9, 2007 03:27 AM (GMT)
i actually read its sequel, the Lost Boy last summer, coz i was having my on-the-job training with abused children. everything the book said was so REAL, you know. i mean, i had to stop thinking that all those things are distant events that have nothing to do with me at all. i never knew how callous i've been all those times when i considered abused children as mere statistics.

fobbykorean - August 10, 2007 03:52 AM (GMT)
wow. my friend recommended this book to me. and i couldn't stop reading it. i can't believe he went through so much at such a young age and still lived through it!! i would've definitely quit. i look up to him.

samaru_sa - August 14, 2007 04:28 PM (GMT)
I cried when I read that, it was just to sad for a mother to treat her own children like that. I really was impressed on how he survived and manage to even find love and raise a child of his own.
I never read the sequel because it was always borrowed and I only barely managed to borrow the first book.
I wonder how it turned out for him in the end.

xkrnsmilex - August 14, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
the child called "it"

is really good but sad @.@

sushiroll - August 15, 2007 09:14 AM (GMT)
this was one really touching book...the way he was treated was just so inhumane, it's like how is it even possible for such serious abuse to take place in this world? T.T

treegirl92 - August 21, 2007 10:32 AM (GMT)
This story really struck me...i cant believe anyone could be so cruel..

eternaltorture - August 25, 2007 03:54 AM (GMT)
I've read this before. And the descriptions were very realistic, and I was pretty scared... T.T They sounded so horrible, well, it is horrbie. >__< But it's a good read. ^^

meroko0202 - August 25, 2007 03:00 PM (GMT)

xdeathberry - September 1, 2007 09:36 PM (GMT)
Ah, I only read about the first half of the book, and I have to say, that book made me very angry at how parents can be towards their child.

If they don't want a child, then they shouldn't do stuff.
You know?
:grrr:

seemichan - September 2, 2007 06:45 AM (GMT)
A friend of mine read the book & absolutely loved it. She's been trying to get me to read it for some time now. Heh.

lorienne - December 21, 2007 09:35 PM (GMT)
I borrowed this book from the library. I have to say the boy in the front cover was so cute. I felt so sad for him and what he had to go through!

lyddie200 - December 28, 2007 09:48 PM (GMT)

i don't understand how a parent can actually do that to their own child its heart breaking T^T

joeyzj - December 29, 2007 08:19 AM (GMT)
Oh. That book... The one that almost make me puke when I was eating dinner while reading it.

Nice book but it just happened to spoil my appetite when I was eating.
Conclusion. Never to read this when eating, or maybe just before eating.

yukime - May 10, 2009 12:01 PM (GMT)
My friend lend me the book and after reading it, I appreciated my parents. Gosh, it was so sad.

pepet - August 14, 2009 07:29 PM (GMT)
They made me sob so bad!! I heard the stories may not have been entierly true though. I hope thats the case!

starlite - August 21, 2009 02:06 AM (GMT)
It was such a sad book and it makes so mad that children are going through this every day and I wish I could grab the abusers and inflict abuse on them :grrr:

Enishi - October 28, 2009 11:55 AM (GMT)
I've read it....I cried my heart out when I read his books...so unbeliveble that a mother can do such things to her own child!!! After I read that book I called my mom and told her how much I love her for being the best mom in the world!!! T.T

Pixie - March 3, 2010 05:56 PM (GMT)
I read the book many years ago. It's such a sad book, book 2 is a bit better. I'm a mother and I can feel the love I have for my child from the very top of my head to the very tip of my toes and it's just so hard to believe that any mother would treat their very own so badly.

marumaruyobi - March 15, 2010 03:32 PM (GMT)
I remember reading this and my mouth dropping open a lot! Just couldn't believe the things that were happening. T.T

blackichigo - November 7, 2010 05:38 PM (GMT)
O I heard about this book :( T.T

I wanted to read it but I couldn't find a copy anywhere

Haruhilulu - December 21, 2010 09:55 AM (GMT)
Oh hell yes,
the first novel that I read from cover page to the back of the book, the child called it was definitely my number one favorites!
Have you ever read beyond of Dave Pelzer's series?
His writing is.. Simply... Just so truthful really, since he is describing every emotion, memory he had in the past. Reality is cruel but at times its the greatest when their are happy memories and moments.

KimYuyeon - February 14, 2011 03:26 PM (GMT)
It's so sad! :(( Now I want to read it again...
A friend of me recommended me the book 3 years ago. She loved it. And passed on her obsession to me XD

samanta - April 2, 2012 04:19 AM (GMT)
