someone by the screename "charles_offley1960" posted spam on the forum in 3 places, and I have deleted his account and his posts. Please let me or Lill know if this behavior is caught again because we do not want weirdos posting in our forums.

Thanks, I got on GW to tell someone but noone with admin powers was on. Also, I remembered seeing someone with the name augustus_ashley1980 create an account with MEATS board around the same time as this person and guess what? They just got spammed to.

Right, I see that too. If no one is on-line, feel free to PM someone cause that will alert me if I'm my comp.

I'm thinking it'll be along the same lines as the officer only forum, HA only forum, etc. Just need to place people into a group to grant them permission. In this case the permission will be for every single forum, not just a few sub-forums... Personally don't know how much work that'll be though...

We can make everything guild only, and give all accounts "guild" access (like what MIST does on their board) they dont allow any new accounts to access most of the areas untill that name was approved. (if i remembered correctly)

That's a better way to handle it. You need at least one forum where anyone at all can read and post because if someone has a problem with registration they need someplace to post the issue.

That setup usually has only a board for Site Suggestions and Problems, and an Introductions board, all the rest requires registration to see. The setup is not very welcoming though, to ppl who want to look at your forum to check out. A great many ppl will not register with your forum out of curiosity. Whether they fear you are going to spam them, or steal their login information or hit em with a virus/keylogger it's hard to say. Quite possibly it's just pure lazy, but whatever the case if you want to promote a busy forum, restricting access is a mixed blessing.
