I've looked at this for many weeks now. It's pretty open to interpretation. Has the layout makings of a code or a tapestry/quilted image of a sail boat. Really I think it's the answer to life (there's 42 in there somewheres!). Honestly I wouldn't know how to go about researching such a peculiar image without /checking the name.

I guess the first hint I'll give is stop looking at the image as a whole. Look at the elements of the picture and see if you find a pattern. Once you figure out what the pattern is you'll be able to explain other elements of the picture.

I'll give the full story of this picture when someone figures the above part out.

It counts up to 12, then skips to 14, 15, and 20. The weird symbols seem to correspond to that.

Alright, now that Xia solved it let me give you the story behind this picture.

It's actually a very interesting test the way I presented it to you all too. This is actually a picture I found on NASA's website and to tell you the truth I wasn't sure what it was till I read the description. The picture is a message that was sent via a focused beam from something (I forget the details.) Anyway the message was sent as a sign of intelligent life here on earth to a cluster of stars where it was likely planets with life.

The reasons for the special patterns is so they are still distinguishable if the message were to become noisy. The top line indicates this is page one of the message. Down from there left to right are the numbers in base 10 counting up. The numbers are represented by the dots as well as the 4 crosses and plus signs of the numbers in binary and finally a symbol. Finally in the last four lines there is the prime number series. The last line is actually the largest know prime number at the time.

The name of the picture contains the name of a scientist.

I've just come to the conclusion that NASA has down syndrome. =P

I think my next life project will be to throw pictures of random DNA signatures and cabbage patch kids to see if dust on the moon will respond, lol.
