K, I admit I have no idea about computers in the slightest so make fun of me later after you answer my question (if you can =P). But our pute is running extremely slow lately and I got one of those random pop uppy type messages on the net about "clearing the cache". I assumed it was one of those deals like "OMG, someone is spying on you now, CLICK HERE to download your weapon against these menaces!".

But now I'm wondering if clearing cache might just be the prob. I don't even know what that means, but I can't think of anything. It seems to have progressed into slower and slower running-ness. The first thing that made me notice it was my Myspace page loading slow as hell, now (about 3 wks after it started getting slow) the background doesn't even load. It's just flat black, yet it loads on my Wii (yes I know, I said load and Wii in same sentence, laugh it off another time!).

Anyway, if any of you computer savvy peeps has an idea of what I could do, Tele-Holla back please. ^^ Everyone in the ls seems to know everything about PC's whereas I know jack and shit...and you know the rest. tongue.gif

The cache is most likely not your problem at all. However, to clear it go to Tools > Internet Options. On the first tab in the middle, you'll see <delete cookies> and <delete files>. Hit both. Now you have lotsa cache space, but your puter is still slow, I'm sure.

First thing, check the amount of available disk space (if you have more than 1 drive, the drive with the OS on it is the important one here). Winders likes it's virtual memory and if you're running out of drive space, it's running out of virtual memory and will really bog down.

Secondly, download adaware and run it. If it doesn't speed up, download spybot search and destroy and run it. Between these two, you should be able to remove most spyware and adware.

Let me know how these things go for fixation. Once it is running better, download spywareblaster and enable it's protections against spyware. It doesn't stop everything, but it stops alot and barely takes any system resources.
