Title: 40's Dual WAR/NIN tank static forming
Description: Have done this for 7 lvls, it rocks
Hallion - December 21, 2005 04:43 AM (GMT)
A RL friend of mine just rejoined the game after being gone all year and started anew.
We are semi-static'ing Dual WAR/NIN's at the moment, and it has been great fun so far. Our PT setups so far have resembled MB pts with 2 tanks capable of eating hate and taking little to no damage. WHM's (if we don't get a SMN) in our pts find themselves erasing and debuffing mostly.
What I would like to try, and might be more effective is a Melee-heavy party with a BRD handy to increase our DMG output, but this is not essential.
My goal is time efficiency.
Statics don't deal with lost members after 2 hours of pt'ing (barring dc's). So, what I am interested in is seeing who in the LS would like to join us.
So far I have:
Hallion - 44 WAR/NIN
Krome - 44 WAR/NIN (my RL friend, soon to be joining us I hope)
Mumblejumble - 43 BRD/WHM
Best times so far are SAT and Weeknights EST.
We will set a tryout date/time for a first meeting to see how everyone likes it, probably sometime after the holidays (some travel, including myself).
So please tell me what you think. Advice is appreciated about pt setup etc.
Thanks,
-Hal

Hall, I was in SICK pt in CN that was chain 5ing every time. Pt setup was 2 WAR/NIN and 2 NIN/WAR, healer didnt have to do crap and each WAR/NIN has a NIN/WAR to SC with, plus 3 other people to voke for shadows. I think other 2 members were a RDM/WHM and a BLM/WHM. As I said mages barely had to heal, especially after our main NIN got Ni, he got hit maybe once the entire rest of the pt. We were sc'ing nonstop since every1 had DW and built TP fairly quickly.
I would LOVE to be a part of it but it would be as WAR/NIN so it wouldn't be the setup I described, plus my availablilty is kinda odd for statics. Available M-F like 2-3 days, and on weekends I'm only available every other sat/sun since I get my son every other weekend.

With two WAR/NIN and BRD I might try to get two THF to SATA you, then a healer of some sort. Not much in the way of SC opportunities before Dancing Edge, but without a BLM that's not a big deal; you'll probably do more damage doing solo WS anyway.
In my opinion, BRD is strongest in a party that emphasises physical DD. Madrigal and Minuet are huge melee buffs; a Bard doesn't have anything nearly as strong to boost BLM damage, and so BLMs tended to lag in damage in my parties.

I have a BLM45 that's going to 75 if you need it.
Other than that, it's WAR40 or NIN40, neither of which you need, lol.
SAM will be up there soon as well.

This idea kinda got crunched. My WAR/NIN tanking partner decided he wanted to be a MNK. I also don't want to slow down his progress as he has yet to hit 50 with any job.
I have also been rahter busy with NIN (hit 67 this week!)
Thanks all for your input.
