Goodbye Fancy Fedorah, goodbye Trophy Belt. You were fine hats.

A weird move by Valve, especially because the idler maker contacted them if it was okay, and Robin Walker didn't consider it cheating.
Also, the last time players used a program like this, the Achievement Unlocker, they only punished them for a week or so, by suspending their items.
But now they thought it was necessary to remove most of the idled items? Dividing the player base into Halo'd and Idlers?

Oh well. At least the drop rate for hats tripled.

Incidentally, I don't heal people wearing halos.

You also don't play medic.

The whole hats ordeal makes me lol like hell. More specifically, the part where the idlers !!!! about having the items that they spent no legitimate time playing to earn be taken away from them, and then having the audacity to !!!! about it, AND demean those that chose to play the game fairly.

Really. If you idled, you deserve what you got. And going around calling halo-wearers cheeses just because they had the audacity to not cheat and be proud of that fact...pathetic.

Well, it was blown out of proportions by hear say.

Originally I think the idlers were angry at Valve for randomly up and slamming the hammer with no previous statements regarding the whole ordeal.

Then a few of the non-idlers got all 'morally' superior, which somehow spread through hearsay until nearly the entire TF2 community just thought every one did it. So the idlers started acting all crazy like.

In the end though it doesn't matter much. It will settle down.

But I will say that idling wasn't "cheating". It wasn't the expected method of finding items, it was simply a workaround that appealed to everyones time schedule who for one reason or another wanted hats and back at the Spy/sniper update just wanted the weapons that had been hyped for the last week.
