Graphics & Art -
This would be for mostly for 2D art and 3D renderings. It's unspecific, and I think with our current volume of members we wouldn't need to branch it to separate subsections. It should be enough to cover things like web graphics, skins, icons, or even your own models or renderings. The Sig request thread would likely be moved to such a forum.

Knights of the Old Republic (I & II) -
A section similar to that of JK's forum. We'd probably have a request and help section separate for them, but some details are still being worked out. I'd have them as only one set of forums for both games (similar to JO/JA of now).


I'll listen to ideas of forums that you might want to see, but I make no promises to what I'll actually add. Also, please don't take the time telling me how you think I should rearrange the Void, or who to have as moderators... because that's really something I'm going to need set a specific way.

So.. feel free to post... ;)

I definately agree on both but I don't know how many people here mod KOTOR1-2, however if it doesn't get used, you could always change it to a general games modding area or something.

Well, we have a few members already who mod for KotoR. Odds are we'll pick up members from elsewhere once they hear about it. Heh, I am actually thinking of doing a little KotoR modding after I play the game, so...

We'll see on that one.

Like I said in my PM, I would like the Graphics forum to be added, I don't know about the KOTOR one though.

I think the idea to create a Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic forum would be great, people could discuss on KOTOR in general (quests, walkthroughs, avatar...) and on modifications made (TC, skins, models...).

I don't know,... I think a general gaming discussion forum would work fine. *shrug*

Oh yeah, agree with you TK-425, the idea to create a general gaming discussion forum did not come to my mind, it would be more interesting.

I would love to have a 2D graphics forum! (With sig contest?) :P

I play KOTOR, but I don't use any mods, but who knows. It might be a good idea!

I agree with the graphics forum but the Kotor... I love kotor but there are not lots of people that mod it. Graphics is more important.

I agree with the graphics forum, that sounds like a great idea, as for KOTOR, I think a general game thread would be used more, but that's just my opinion.

I agree with the graphic forum, people could discuss about many things (skining, modeling and mapping, may be sig contest as Kingskully said) that would be very cool.
I have the same opinion with TK-425 and TheShadowFox471 about a general game thread, if someone want to discuss on a game in particular, he/she creates a topic with the name of the game, great idea.

No, there are quite a few, actually. It's just a matter of getting them to come here. Besides, all you need are two or three experienced people to teach newer modders. ;)

Don't try a sports section.. I tried it on my forum.. And it failed.. Horribly.

I went to install KOTOR after I saw your post, but I got the same data error you had! Arg! I had it on my computer a few months ago too! Ah well..

You too? Yeah, it worked fine on my old computer at first, then after a while it wouldn't work anymore on the same machine. We'll have to talk about this some time. ;)

Modifications for Star Wars KOTOR are as good as you say ? I checked mods section on Star Wars KOTOR files and just found skins, light sabers, weapons and armors modified; nothing very interesting even if some are very good. If you know better modifications could you give me the website where you found them, I would not forgive myself to miss something...

Check PCGamemods, or the Holowan Laboratories at Lucasforums. Those're usually the two best places to look. Filefront's site really don't have that much, as they decided to finally open a KOTOR/KOTOR2 section of the site after KOTOR2 came out for PC.

WOW, there are much more things on pcgamemods, thank you TheShadowFox471. I agree with you about Filefront's site, some do not have much things, I just go on JK2 files 'cos it is the site where I find the most things about JK2 with PCGM. I'll finish KOTOR II, reinstall the first one and try mods!

That, and they began their site buy uploading many others' mods without credits or permission, so many modders refuse to upload there.

Other were insulted at the fact that their mods weren't uploaded; they took at as a questioning of their quality. :P

I think things that aren't discussed often, like sports for example shouldn't be considered for a new section, because they're hardly going to be successful if they aren't already popular discussion elsewhere.

Graphics, is a different story however, there's alot of that going on in the 'Everything Else' board.

Then maybe a pinned topic for Kotor modding would do aswell?

I opened up my browser.. Clicked on my tab to open up 'HapSlash's Void".. And I couldn't believe my eyes! I was looking at a 'new' Void. I started searching for the help forum, and I couldn't find it. I was confused, (not the first time, but that's another story). I then realised it was under 'Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast / Jedi Academy'..

Why IB, why did you make it confusing?.. Simple academic curiosity you understand...

I was going to make a post like this yesterday but I was a bit busy.

I've changed my mind on the KOTOR1/2 Section idea, after starting playing again and eager to start editting it, I think we can make a nice little community of KOTOR modders here, we already have a few who have released some quality work for the games here too.

It could also possibly encourage a whole load of new members to join and start posting, causing The Void to expand from a one game series mod-focus.

As for those who say the mods for KOTOR1/2 are boring, well it is infact the opposite for me, I really enjoy playing with mods while playing either of the games and especially with KOTOR2 since alot of the mods greatly improve an unfinished game.

Oh, and may I add Viva La Graphics Board!

Personally I think you are right RinkXing but some members were thinking about a
general gaming discussion forum. Don't know what is better, perhaps make a Kotor forum as Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast / Jedi Academy one and also make a general gaming discussion forum to talk about games we play. Yes it's much, after these modifications The Void will be cut out in five parts:

- The Void: News and Information
- Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast / Jedi Academy
- Knights of the old Republic/Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
- Discussion Forums (including the general gaming discussion forum)
- Administration
