Title: The Force Unleashed
Description: Ultimate Sith Edition
Duo - November 13, 2009 04:45 AM (GMT)
So, I just bought The Force Unleashed for my PC about a week ago, resolution at 1920 x 1080, and it looks and runs great. Had loads of fun with it and am running through it at all the different difficulties. Got all the extras and secret stuff. Love the added content. Think its a pretty epic addition to the Star Wars saga with its story a presentation.
I was worried I'd be favoring Jedi Outcast (or Academy) gameplay over this, but I'm really liking the way they styled everything in The Force Unleashed. It flows and works and makes you feel empowered. I hope they make more Star Wars games with this engine.
Euphoria is a blast to mess with. Infantry react to their surroundings as advertised, and with each other in an acknoledging manner I've never seen mentioned (sometimes when an ally goes down next to them, they look over at them and have a reaction)
My favorite part is the Digital Molecular Matter. I can blow out windows and smash doors open all day and be amused. THAT is what I hope they really carry on into other games, and maybe even allow other companies to use.
I've really enjoyed this game alot more than I thought I ever would, and thats my opinion on it..for what its worth.. it looks like this place has completely died out....

THEY RELEASED IT FOR PC????
DO WANT.
And yeah. Much more mature story than previous SW games...

I heard it's really badly optimized and the only graphic setting you can change is resolution.
But I wouldn't mind playing it.
Nihilus - November 15, 2009 10:24 PM (GMT)
It's a direct port from console to PC.
*SPOILER SPOILE SPOILER, you have been warned*

love the way you do your spoilers Nihilus, lol I'll have to bookmark that
and as far as optimization, its meant for a 360 controller, which I have, so controls work fine for me. If you have a screen thats worth anything then the resolution on it will make it look great. The shaders and all are all next gen so all of that is top notch anyways and you don't have to worry about it
well..unless you have a crappy computer..lol
its meant for strong compys. I wanna see what the mac version looks like. I can't imagine how much recoding they'll have to do to make all that Windows DX tech work fluently with Mac OpenGL
I'm surprised nobody has copied the Source engines pixel shading technique. its the only engine I've seen with THAT perfect of a shadowing engine. it doesn't clip with geometric surfaces like all other next gen games I have, including this one, do.
and its a DX9 effect, so its not like its that big of a performance drainer. look up the Source engine and all the stuff they've added to it and how it works. its pretty cool stuff lol

The only thing you can change is resolution? WTF how crappy.

The version of The Force Unleashed made for the PC is the Star Wars Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition. It continues the story of what happened after the dark side ending.
The hard drive space it needs is a monster. 32 dam Gigs of space. Godly ain't it?
And you computer has to be goldy to even run it at a good graphics level at a monster level of resolution. what are your specs? lolz.
I hope to get a gaming comp with a GTX 260 with an Intel Core i7 920. Best processer and almost the best card.
Denariax - November 27, 2009 05:29 PM (GMT)
This game is not worth that much gig space. I don't care how cool the 'Ultimate' Sith part is, it's just not worth that much.
Teroch 66 - November 28, 2009 01:48 AM (GMT)
You can go to the store and look at the back of the PC version of The Force Unleashed. On the back, it states that it requires 32 point something gigs of hard drive space.

Still not worth it.
Global Agenda, in the stage it's in at the minute, is 15 gigs. And yet, is more enjoyable.

Sadly, technical problems may hinder your chances for enjoyment. On two out of three test systems--all of which exceeded the game's recommended hardware requirements--we encountered performance issues that heavily interfered with the experience. The frame rate was wildly inconsistent, taking huge dips whenever there was a lot of action onscreen, and on one system, frame rate troubles were accompanied by snaps and crackles in the audio. Should you run into visual issues, there is no way to adjust graphics settings to improve the game's performance. The Force Unleashed allows you to only adjust the display resolution and brightness levels, so forget tweaking your lighting and anisotropic filter settings. Even if you can run the game without trouble, you'll lament that the widescreen cinematics are stretched on a monitor with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

I stand corrected.

That lightsaber is the worst thing I have ever seen as far as lightsaber physics are concerned in a game.
That's a pretty strong reason not to have this game, unless...they make it more realistic.
Same crappy lightsaber is being featured in Star Wars - The Old Republic and the Force Unleashed sequel.
Watchfull-Eye - December 13, 2009 04:49 AM (GMT)
Just announced The Force Unleashed two. And Starkiller appears to be the main character...so he didn't die or did he?

I agree man, I mean... I never bought the game because I thought the 'force powers' in the game were far too unrealistic. Quite frankly it was the most RIDICULOUS thing I have EVER seen in my entire life and I've seen some pretty ridiculous things in my time (EVER SEEN A SQUIRREL EATING A MARS BAR?)
I mean really... shooting lightning out your hands? WTF LucasArts?! This defies all laws of physics and I WILL NOT stand for this in fiction any longer!!
Nevermind the Euphoria engine... more like the UNREALISTICHORIA ENGINE, YEAH.
You know what other game I can't stand? Ocarina of Time. You know why? Hover boots. By far the most second most unrealistic thing I have ever seen (next to this amazingly unrealistic 'force' thing).

Go play Maple Story and try your sarcasm there.
You should also try Mario Bros ... you will definitely love it.
