Badges, Complete Listing at Present: First Post

- Bronze Member Badge (1 year or equivalent active time and still active)
- Silver Member Badge (Same as bronze, two years)
- The Gold Member Badge (Was on old boards or has been a member for five years and is still active)
- HP RP Badge (For members of the HamstaPowah RP)
- Fan Art Badge (You've made at least one piece of fan art.)
- Fanfic Badge (You've written a fanfic or comic)
- The Hero Badge (Has made a significant positive impact on the community)
- Pervert Badge (you may assign this one to yourself.)
- Immortal Legacy Badge (for Imagion RP members and those who help it live on)
- Quiz Badge (more info coming soon)

Now, this is a flawed system due to what we're working with, but, all the same...

Badges.

Earned for doing stuff.

For example, a badge for making 50 RP posts in HP, or a badge that represents Mage thinking your awesome. Whatever works. These would be little gifs that go in one's signature, and would require people not cheat. Therein is the challenge, but it's a small community, so i imagine we'll make due.

These badges are just for bragging rights, kind of like post count. however, since 64 digits has a system like this and it makes up almost the entire reason why i go there, well...

Also, post count is one thing, but badges show what you're using those posts for, which may well prove to be entirely more important. Yeah, a noob can spam the place out and get hundreds of posts in less than a month, but if you have 100 posts and 50 of those are in the HP RP, who's really winning?

It's a counter argument for the inevitable influx that will hit as soon as I fuse with Liz and become awesome. Also, i need to quit pretending my life is a sci-fi movie. I can't fuse with people, which is incredibly disappointing. unless by "fuse" one means "have sex with," in which case I'll end up in jail because Sam can't get along with girls his own age, and the older chicks are a bit TOO old. D:

ideas for badges.

Of course, mods will likely have say in who gets what sort of badges, as well. just so, you know, Mage, Zeph, the missing Lardman, and the unacknowledged Travis know. (I'll figure out where to put you yet, Tsuk.)

My badge ideas:

1 > The super spammer badge (like for when times come where CW and Angel realize we're all posting again and both come back at once and live here for six hours because I guess neither one's heard of IM. Posting is good. Going to bed and coming back to sift through sixty pages of conversations you're not even apart of, however, is not. D: Is it just me who thingks this?).
2 > The color badge (for people who've colored a comic for me at some point - thus Mage, Jing [who I'm not sure is even a member here at all], and I think it was Squeek who colored the last one, which I hpe to shove in teh fan art eventually. It was one of you. I'll figure out which as soon as i sort through my pics again and actually finish the site update. PHEAR THE LAZY).
3 > HP RP post count badges (25, 50, 100, etc.)
4 > Imagion RP member badges (I'm thinking one for acknowledgement of participation, and another for people I myself regard as most important to the story. You can all argue about which who gets as you see fit, but i'm on myself, Tsuk, Mage, Zeph, and... well, to me, that's always been about the sum of the major party. yes, there's Missa, but how often did missa actually end up as the one playing Missa?)
5 > Special things. Like for Tsuk, something for redesigning the forums, and for Zeph, something for being the only person keeping me from quitting the comic for about six months. Neat things like that.

Any others...?

I like this idea , I was climbing the top poster ranks, but the recent slew of frivolous, post-count-steroid threads have taken some of the charm out of that, and new post ranks are starting to thin out now I'm at 400+, so yeah, that'd be something cool to work for ^^. I'd suggest ideas now, but I have a test soon XD.

Normal Badges

• Century Badge: For people who have stuck around to make 100 posts.
• Millennium Badge: For people who have achieved the lofty heights of 1,000 posts.
  
• Elite Badge: For people who are (or were) in the top 10 poster's list.
  
• Advent Badge: For people who have been here a year (and made a post after crossing the threshold).
  
• Ancient Badge: For people who have been here for over half the forum's history and made a post since (their join date is closer to Zaron's than the current date).
• Hyper Badge: For people who have (or had) a posts per day of over 20. (See: Spammer Badge. XD)
  
• Mirror Badge: For people who have made more than 1 piece of original fan-art for the comic.
  
• Adventurer's Badge: For people who have made 20 posts in the HP RP (could do another one for Imagion too).
• Weaver Badge: For people who have made 10 threads.
  
• Cloud Badge: For people who have made a thread that was floated/stickied.

Special Badges

• Rainbow Badge: For people who have coloured a comic for Zaron.
  
• Legacy Badge: For people who posted in the first chapter of the HP RP (could do another one for Imagion too).
• Deviant Badge: For people who have invoked Dennis. (dude, I'd have to give this to, like... everybody.)
• Leader's Badge: For people who have moderated. (I'm iffy on this one, simply because they've already got a Moderator title. So, for now, "Maybe".)
  
• Icon Badge: For people who have contributed a smiley to the forum. (though I don't think anybody has...)

There's a few ideas for now, any good ?

I've abused your post for most of my response.

My only hold back here is the ones about post and thread count as a whole. That's already marked, to some extent, by your general activity on the forums and your profile rank. So, really, we don't need 50 and 1000 post badges, because that's already built in the system as your post count rank. I don't see the need for a Hunter badge to go with the Hunter rank. then again, that's just me.

Though someday making PIPs to represent those would be neat, I suppose.

Perhaps, on the note of submitting smileys and such, we could simply have a badge for assisting the forum in some way as a whole. Like, if you decided to pizel the PIPs for the various ranks, or redesigned the skin, or submitted a smiley I've used, or even just helped with reorganizing the layout at all.

Oooh, Zaron's had his paws all over my post, haha, how exciting, I'm turned on :3.

Hehe, the two post count ones were just meant to be rare rewards, it wasn't that I, like, did them and couldn't be bothered to hunt down the names and titles for each rank, I just thought 100 and 1,000 could be special milestones, as typically anyone who makes it to 100 stays around enough to be someone known by name, not just like "that guy who posted a bit a few months back", and 1,000 is a rare feat indeed.

I'm glad you like most of my ideas though , and the Dennis one was just for fun, you can't tell me it wouldn't be cool to have a badge for having summoned him XD.

PS: , and , couple of humble attempts I threw together to replace the red and gold cube respectively, based on the stars in the Hamstapowah logo on the title's right and head's ears ^^.

Yes, well, my main not-use for those is that, frankly, PIPs are Satan, and I can't just tell it to use three of one I've uploaded if you'd normally have three dots. If that were the case, I wouldn't have had to make all those stupid designs for the gold ones. D: There's only three golds, with the highest (I think) being three with two red bands behind them. so each gold starts alone, then adds one band, then another, and then instead of a third band it reverts and you get another gold.

Because it wouldn't let me just tell it to use several gold. D: <

And, yes, I agree with your list of important Imagion RP people, Zar. Missa and Vinelen, as awesome as they are, didn't contribute as much to the plot as a whole when compared to the four of us. I would like to see a badge for that one...

And, er, there's nothing to show that I'm a mod, unless you happen to look at the Imagion RP section and see my name. The last I checked, I was still in the "members" group. And I vote for Trav getting the global mod entitlement, XD It's easier that way, XD

A 'true' ancients badge... ie, someone who was on the phpBB boards (I don't think anyone from your ezboards is even a member here... Well, perhaps LM...)

Attention/Post/Hug/etc whore badge - self explanatory... Also, who wants to start betting on when CW comes back? He's been leaving comments on my devART journal. I believe he called me immature and irresponsible in one of them >.>; I told him that, quite frankly, I don't give a damn.

A badge for those people who have avatars in the HP comic

A badge for the members of the hero party of the HPRP. And conversely, one for the villains.

Ironically the thing that kept Tsuk and I from coming back is er, the mess we made. Which he was a catalyst for.

Well, they'd be added to your sig by a moderator, but unless Tsuk knows a trick it'd be easy enough to cheat, so mods would have to keep an eye out for that.

On that note, it's a very good reason to finally get some global mods, eh?
