[Caryn Weasley-Sagebrook]

"Do you know how long it has been, my girls, since I've had a drink? I mean a good, hard, stiff...drink?" Caryn said, bursting into a fit of giggles as they entered the club.

"Thanks for coming, Lu...sorry you can't drink, but you're the perfect DD."

"Yeah, best to not try to apparate when drunk. That's asking to be splinched," Jaden said, grinning.

"Whas up!" Caryn breathed in a high-pitched tone to the crowd at large.

"Not drunk already, is she?" Jaden mumbled to Luna, arching a brow.

"I may have had...a few."

Caryn smirked as she slid onto a bar stool, eying the barkeep with a twinkle in her blue eyes.

"A shot of your strongest fire---er---blast, muggle bar...ah to hell with it, give me a shot of your strongest whiskey. Make it burrrrnn."

The bar keep nodded slid her a tall shot glass with amber fluid.

"Time to make daddy proud, ladies," she said, her grin only growing as she knocked her drink back.

"We're in for a hell of a night," Jaden mumbled to Luna.

[Professor Luna Darani-Hamren]

Luna was nursing her water as she watched Caryn through her fingers. She had long since covered her face in shame.

"Oh yes. Caryn is seventeen for the night it seems. Luca agreed to watch Annie by himself tonight and Caryn is an inch away from being plastered already."

"I don't think I've seen you since your Christmas party, Jaden. How are things going with big brother Sagebrook?"

"Splendid. It's the longest I've been in a relationship," Jaden replied, giving an awkward frown that wanted to be a smile.

"Ethan's great. We're different...really different, but somehow...we work," she said with a shrug, smirking.

"Karaoke!" Caryn cried out, making a stumbling walk up towards the stage.

The baseline from Grease started, and as it was the long version, Caryn had time to find a partner.

"Jaden, come on! It's a duo!" she yelled, motioning for her friend.

"Lu, come on then, one of you!"

"I'll do it!" said a man, who was cradling, oddly enough, a cantelope. He set his fruit aside and hopped up on the stage. He was beyond drunk himself, and so he didn't recognize Caryn.

"I've got chills...they're multiplyin'!" he started, and a buzzed Caryn laughed and cheered him on.

Until....

Her jaw dropped. "Oh. My. God! Orion?!"

Her part came on, and as to not disrupt the performance any more, she began to sing, horribly off key.

"Oh, heavens...I can't believe it. Orion O'Ryan. Caryn was completely ga-ga over him in school!" Jaden said, clapping a hand to her mouth and laughing.

[Professor Luna Darani-Hamren]

Luna gave a confused look at her not quite happiness before turning a furious shade of red and scooching down into her seat.

"That's alright Car...I'm gonna sit here."

"This is going to be a very interesting night." Luna shook her head.

[Caryn Weasley-Sagebrook]

"You're theonethattawant!" the two finished together.

"Whoo!" Orion cried out, throwing up his hands, and nearly dropping his mic.

"Orion!" Caryn said, her eyes lighting up.

"I can't believe it, it's been ages!"

"Has it?" Orion said, thoughtfully tapping his chin.

"Do you remember me?" Caryn asked, arching a thin brow and giving a hesitant smile.

"Sure! You're my singing partner. And you're not to worry, if you get sick, I'll hold your pretty red hair in my hand, so you don't get it all pukey!" he replied, nodding with excitement.

"Can I buy you a drink, pretty red haired-lady? You look like a girl I used to know...she liked my Cow. I mean...my rat. Or was it a cow...."

Caryn laughed and followed him to the bar.

"You haven't changed a bit."

Orion cocked his head to the side, panting a bit from the excitement as he continued to look at the redhead next to him.

"I know you."

"Yes," Caryn said, laughing.

"It's me, Orion. Or should I say Camille?" she said, laughing all the more.

"Caryn. Dominique Carynne Weasley. Weasley-Sagebrook, now."

"That's a load of names pretty redhead lady. How about I just call you Caryn? Caryn...Caryn. CARYN?! Caryn! HA!"

"Now you remember?" she said, shaking her head and grinning.

"How the heck are ya?" he said, clapping her on the shoulder.

"Good...really good. I---"

"To old friends!" Orion called out, passing a drink to her, and taking one for himself.

"To...old friends," Caryn said with a nod, taking a good-sized sip of her drink.


Jaden bit her lip, looking anxious as she led Luna over to the bar, and seated herself on the other side of Caryn.

"Jaden, right?" Orion said, giving a cheery wave.

"And...Professor Darani! Oh sweet moldy potatoes, I've stumbled onto a girl's night, haven't I?"

[Professor Luna Darani-Hamren]

"Sort of." Luna smirked at him. "You're quite the singer....the both of you....such a loss you were never in choir." She cringed, trying to get the ringing to leave her ears.

[Caryn Weasley-Sagebrook]

"Why thank you, Professor Luna Darani-something or another," Orion said, giving a curt nod.

"Hamren," Jaden offered, sipping on her soda. She thought not drinking would be the best option for the evening, given the circumstances.

"And Miss Weasley! You're far prettier than I remember, young lady," Orion said, clinking his glass with hers.

"Sagebrook. Weasley-Sagebrook," Jaden correctly firmly and loudly.

"I'm so thorry, Professor, you shouldn't have to see me like this. I was a good student...hard working. A gentleman. Appreciated my cantelopes like none other...." Orion slurred, giving a frown to Luna.

"Caryn...my beauty, would you care to dance?" he asked suddenly.

Caryn gave a small, quietly laugh to herself at Orion's words, then she drifted off to a memory from when she was merely fourteen....


Caryn seemed to be thinking along the same lines. He's still holding my hand! I hope my palms don't go sweaty... She also thought about lessening her own grip to let Orion know it was alright if he wanted to let go, but the idea rolled to the back of her mind as Orion started to talk. "Yeah, heh. My ears are ringing," Caryn replied, using her free hand to rub at her own ear.

Orion took a deep breath. "Caryn, I'm a dirt bag." Was that a good way of starting off? "I don't know what you've heard, but I... Girls don't like me much, cuz one minute... I mean..." He hid his hands behind his back for a minute, keeping his fingers from wrapping around his throat and strangling himself for such a lack of word-control. "Maybe... we should stay friends... but I like you. I like you very much, but if you get hurt then it'll be my fault and then I'd be in even deeper doo-doo then I am now - but it's not all about me staying out of doo-doo, it's about you and your heart that shouldn't be shattered and then mended in a crooked way because-" he stopped abruptly, taking another deep breath, for he had used most of the oxygen within him to utter that entire speech.


"Caryn?" Orion repeated, frowning a bit. "You alright?"

"I...I'd love to dance," Caryn said brightly, taking Orion's hand.

[Professor Luna Darani-Hamren]

"Oh that's all right Orion. Nothing could tarnish my oh-so-slear memories of you at this point."

At his offer to Caryn, Luna raised her eyebrows and looked at Jaden. "This won't end well. I'm sure of it."

[Caryn Weasley-Sagebrook]

"Oh ho no, no it's won't. She's playing out some adolescent dream, I just know it," Jaden said, groaning.

"Caryn had a dreadful time, dating as a teen. She had her heart broken over and over...and Orion was the one that got away. And then of course her teen years ended with Dylan, mended only by Luca, who is probably the only decent man she's ever been with. If Orion fancies her all of a sudden...well, I'm watching her like a hawk."


Orion held Caryn semi-close, dancing with her in a sort of swing fashion mixed with ball-room.

"So, what have you been up to since school?" Caryn asked him.

"Oh...working...dating...trying to get in good with the editor of The Daily Prophet. They want to give me a job, they just don't know it yet."

"Well my Aunt works there...I'll have to ask her to put in a good word for you," Caryn said, grinning.

"You're ravishing, dear Caryn," Orion said, dipping her and leaning in to kiss her on the cheek.

"Oh my God!" Jaden exclaimed. "He just kissed her! What the hell, doesn't he know she's married?"

[Professor Luna Darani-Hamren]

"Uh oh. We should collect her...continue girls night elsewhere. Tell her....tell her I'm feeling nauseous or something." Luna suggested as she stood up, trying to get Caryn's attention.

[Caryn Weasley-Sagebrook]

Jaden nodded. "Right."

She pulled Caryn away from Orion, or attempted to do so, but somewhat failed.

Caryn jerked her hand away.

"Luna's sick. We're going," Jaden said flatly.

"No. I'm having fun. You two go, I'll get a taxi."

"We're not leaving you. You're married, Caryn. Think clearly here."

"So, what of it? Orion here wouldn't dare make a move on me...know why?"

Jaden looked annoyed.

"He's never had good luck with girls because he prefer boys!" she said, rolling her eyes and throwing herself back at Orion.

"So it was never me that was the problem. Or at least, not my personality. It was my lady parts, isn't that right, Camille?" she said with a laugh.

Orion nodded, beaming. "I'm gay. But that doesn't mean I don't like to mess around now and then...with pretty redhead ladies who like my Cow."

"She wouldn't touch your cow with a forty-foot pool, so shove off, O'Ryan," Jaden said, scowling.

"Caryn, you're not a child, honestly, lets. GO," she said, jerking Caryn away.

"If you don't come with me right now, I'm calling Luca. I'm serious."

"Ooohhh don't want to get into trouble, do I? I'll be grounded for sure!" Caryn said, narrowing her eyes and laughing.

"You're drunk off your arse. And you're married. Marrr-iieeeed...Caryn. Listen to me. We're not talking about your dad, we're talking about your husband. She has a husband, you half-wit skeeze," Jaden spat, giving Orion a nasty glare.

"Alright, so she has a husband! She's still my pretty redhead," he said, patting her lovingly on the head.

"Ugh. Enough of this...flippendo!" Jaden cried out, aiming her wand at Orion. He fell back with a thud, and Jaden grabbed Caryn's arm.

"Luna, pull up the car!" Jaden cried out, gripping Caryn's arm as they ran for the door.

"Ugh...don't feel so good," Caryn mumbled, stumbling a bit as she went with Jaden.

"Oi! You two there, you knocked him out!" some men yelled after them.

[Keely Hamren]

Luna had already left. She pulled the car around slowly and let it idle next to the sidewalk.

"Do NOT throw up in this car." Luna pointed.

[Caryn Weasley-Sagebrook]

"I wont!" Caryn promised, sliding into the back seat.

"Oi! That was a good one!" Orion shouted, running after the women.

"Sorry to bother you pretty ones, but could I trouble you for a ride? Honestly, I won't touch Caryn. I just puked my brains out inside and they kicked me out."

"Shove off, you git," Jaden spat.

"Leave him alone, Jaden. Come on then...give him a ride. He's harmless, Lu, really," Caryn said, wrinkling her brow.

[Keely Hamren]

Luna's van had seats for many people. "Back row. You're not to share with Caryn." Luna sighed as she unlocked the door feeling like she was babysitting children.

"Don't test Jaden's nerves. We can and will put you out."

[Caryn Weasley-Sagebrook]

"I'm so sorry about this, Lu," Jaden said, sighing as she got into the front seat and pulled on her seat belt.

"Honestly...she needed a night out. I didn't know she was going to behave like this."

"I can hearrrrr you," Caryn sang, sighing heavily.

"I too have remarkable hearing!" Orion announced, beaming proudly.

"Caryn...psst! Caryn! Can you hear me?" he whispered, snickering softly.

Caryn then burst into a rousing chorus of Achy Breaky Heart, although she had never heard the song until that night in the pub.

"Lets drop her off, straight away," Jaden said with a groan.
