Random Quote: Thomas pinched his nose. "Oh my god." He shook his head. "Does your mother want me to commit suicide? Because if that's what she's after, I'll just do it. If it's between that, and this class." He paused

Eli was alarmed to find Keely and both of her parents waiting for him in Garrin's office.
"This isn't good." He decided as he looked around at the unhappy faces. "Alright then, give it to me straight. I can take it."
"Joking, really?" Keely demanded.
"Just tell me, Key."
"I'm pregnant." Keely threw her hands up. "And don't get all giddy because I didn't even want to tell you. In fact , I'm looking to get rid of it."
Eli stared at her for a moment with a mix of confusion and anger. "Great, so who's the lucky guy?"
Keely looked like she could slap him.

Eli stood planted to the spot as he looked at Keely, waiting for her to return the glance. "That's not possible." He said firmly.
"Actually it's entirely possible. You do know where babies come from, and it's not like you protected me." Keely crossed her arms.
"Whoa. You stop right there." Eli pointed, despite Keely's protest. "I begged you to let me use protection. You wouldn't have it. You insisted."
"Didn't stop you!" Keely replied.
"And that was stupid. I made a mistake. But if it wasn't me it would have been someone worse. You let me know that real quick. But from the looks on their faces..." He nodded at her parents "I'll bet they don't know who all you threw yourself at that week. Instead it's poor pitiful you while you throw me under the bus! I tried to protect you to the best of my ability but...wait..."
Eli froze as he took Keely's purse and began rummaging through it whilst Keely looked like she was going to throw a fit. He pulled out a pharmacy bag and then a small box that was still sealed. The morning after pill.
Eli's face drained of all color and he looked like he was about to cry. "Why didn't you take this?" He demanded, the veins in his throat rising to the ski.
"Don't scream at me! You can't talk to me like that!" Keely cried irrationally.
Eli softened at that and closed his eyes, took a deep break and calmed himself. "You're right. I'm sorry."

"I don't know." Keely said through clenched teeth as she dug into the chair.
"I bought it, Sir." Eli admitted, not afraid look Garrin in the eye. "I know that's not what you want to hear...but I wanted to take care of her. It's all I could do at that point."
"This doesn't change anything." Keely crossed her arms. "I'm getting an abortion."
For the first time since entering the room, Eli felt sick. He sank to his knees in front of her. "Please. Let me keep it. I know that's the biggest thing I could ever ask of you. Please. You never have to deal with either of us again after that."
"NO." Keley replied.
"Please, I'll do anything." He begged.
"What are you going to do? Add the nursery hook up to your trailer?"
"Don't punish the baby because I'm a screw up!"
"Would you let them see it?" She nodded to her parents.
"Of course."
"Then no."
"Keely, you're not making any sense. You made this happen, and now you're just going to do away with it. You're messed up. You need help."

"Keely's mother and myself have already made it clear that we do not approve of an abortion," Garrin said firmly, shocked at the way his daughter was behaving. What in the world had happened to her? That answer was a little obvious, what with the rape, but he still hated to see her acting this way.
"Eli, are you entirely sure that you're prepared to take care of a child? Adoption is, in my opinion, the best route to take here," he remarked, doing his best now to not say anything hateful towards him. He knew it wouldn't help matters.

Keely shook her head cruelly at Eli. "There's not going to be a baby."
Eli had to compose himself once more. "No. It's mine. I'm going to take care of it. Please don't send it away."
Keely scoffed. "There's not a lawyer in their right mind that would leave you in charge of a houseplant. You can't afford it. You have to room for it. How's the baby supposed to learn how to read, when the father's a moron?"
Eli just stared at her, like he might cry. She did a good job of tearing him down.
"Please get help, Key." He told her as he stood up. "I need air. Excuse me." His voice trembled as he let himself out, where he sunk to the floor.

Keely's rage continued on. "Not that someone as perfect as you would ever be in my position. But what would you do?" Keely demanded.
"Ashamed....of me. That's just great. Sorry you had to find out like this, Dad. You raised a slut. And now everybody knows it."

"I'm not ashamed of you! I'm ashamed of your behavior! I love, you, Keely! And I know this isn't you. You don't really want to cause anyone pain. You're a passionate, highly intelligent, beautiful young lady, and I know you're better than what you've showed everyone lately. You're better than the choices you've been making," Garrin said, his tone somewhat softened as he looked at his daughter with compassion.
"And to answer your question, I would never dream of aborting a baby I helped create. I loved Emily before she was even born. I could have turned Cody away when he was left on my door step, but I took him in, knowing he was mine, and loved him. I was barely past teenage age when he came into my life...in between jobs...certainly had no business being a father, but the truth of the matter was that I was a father. Life was difficult raising him on my own, but when I held that little baby in my arms, my life became all about Cody.
"Perhaps it's time for you to think of someone besides yourself, Keely."

Keely stood up and left, slamming the door behind her. She couldn't take it anymore.
