"It hurts me, too! The only thing worse than having someone you love in this situation, Carter, is being that person! And having to act like this is for the better! Having to force yourself to know it is!" Aiden yelled, tears streaming down his cheeks now.

[Carter Nichols]

"I can't handle this! I wish I had done so many things differently. I love you so much. And I can't do anything about it. I can't live through this. Not when it hurts this much. And I try to leave it alone. I try, but I all I can think of is you."

[Aiden Livingston]

"You can live through this. We all can." Aiden said, leaning against the side of the flat, " It's just that we don't want to. I know this is going to be hard, damned near impossible. But we've got to try, it's the only hand we got."

[Carter Nichols]

Carter sobbed nodding his head and trying to wipe his tears. He had put himself out there, and it was he expected.

He stood up and walked away, tripping once, but continuing back into town.

Tears still leaking, he walked into the coffee shop and sat down. Will, who had been going over some paperwork noticed him immediately.

Carter clung to the man, spilling his heart out of Aiden, and of everything that had happened. Will consoled him, pretended to care, and then accidentally left his paper work in the shop as he took the emotional wreck hastily back to his flat.

[Harper Hallows]

Harper had heard some of the conversation. She cleaned herself up, while holding Lane, after the afterbirth passed and wrapped a towel around her so she could change into comfortable clothes. She walked out of the bathroom and passed Lane carefully to Aiden.

"Will Carter be okay?" she asked, knowing Aiden still cared very much for Carter. "You can go after him if you need to..."

Harper walked into her room, not even bothering to shut the door, and changed. "I am guessing we probably have to go to the doctor's to have me and Lane checked out," she called to Aiden.

"No, I'm not going anywhere.." Aiden said, holding the newborn. He was surprised she had so much energy after such a taxing task, but he didn't question it. He didn't truly understand anyone anymore, especially women.

"Sure, we'll go whenever you'd like."

Women were weird that way. Yes, Harper was hurting, but she wasn't going to show it. Harper had to show she was strong, both for Aiden and Lane. "I am ready to go now if you like," she mumbled, stomach a wee bit sore.
