Mia let herself into the Whitemore's home, hoping it would be fine that she hadn't let them know she was coming over. First thing she did, was go to the room that James had set as hers so long ago for the times she was there over night and such. She gathered a few things of hers that had been sitting in his home, and stuffed them into a bag. Then she made her way through the manor, in a short search for James. Once she found him, before he could speak she kissed him.
"I'm leaving the country." Mia told him bluntly.

James was relaxing in the study, on the opposite side of the house from where the sleeping quarters were, so he was not aware of Mia's presence in the house until her sudden appearance in front of him. Her kiss was unexpected, but appreciated. When she spoke her words James was suddenly aware of the bag she was carrying.
"Leaving? Why? ... For where? For how long?" James asked, shock and surprise sending a flood of questions out at once.

"I can't tell you why." Mia said with little to no emotion. "I'll be in Asia, with my cousin Rain. I'm not sure how long I'll be gone." She answered the questions he had actually verbalized. "It's okay. I'll come back." Mia said giving him a faint smile, a small sign of doubt in her expression.

"Well ... um ... have fun." James said, unsure of what else to say. It wasn't like he and Mia were tied together in any way and of course she was free to go wherever she pleased. And she did say she'd be back ... eventually.
"Have a safe trip." James added after a moments pause.

"You are so understanding." Mia said before she kissed him again. "Not to get all mushy but, I'm going to miss you." She smiled, though it quickly faded. "Oh, uhm, but could you maybe do me one favor? Please don't cheat on me or anything. Unless you get some message that I'm dead. Then please, do date someone and move on." Mia paused. "Not saying that I'm doing anything dangerous that I wouldn't be able to tell you and possibly be risking my life! But you know, maybe I could get hit by a car or something..." Mia said awkwardly, rubbing the back of her neck.
