[Professor Luna Darani-Hamren]

Luna's mouth fell open while he spoke, but she too remained quiet and wide-eyed until she chanced a glance at her husband.

"Something to say?" She asked. "Because you do have to say something." She decided to add, feeling like Garrin also had realized that none of this would be happeningif their son wasn't so engrossed by Susan.

"I--yeah," Garrin started, taking in a deep breath and giving Cody what he hoped was a supportive look.

"Sandrine won't get away with this, Code. Be certain of that. You must feel...completely violated. I'm not angry," he said, putting up his hands.

"Alright?"

Cody nodded, pushing out a slow, shaky breath.

Garrin continued. "I'm not sure on the details of you engaging in intercourse on school property, but we'll worry about that later. I'll arrange a conference with Sandrine's Head of House and her parents. If she is pregnant and the child is yours, well...we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. I'm quite certain that if it were Susie who was pregnant, you would be just as frightened."

"Frightened yes, but that's completely different, Dad!" Cody interjected.

"Sandrine is horrible, a cow of a girl who seeks to do nothing but ruin others. I love Susie. I'm not ready to be a dad but I'd much rather it be her!"

"Is she planning to keep the baby?" Garrin asked.

"I don't know," Cody said, shrugging, searching his thoughts for anything Sandrine may have said on the matter.

"I just feel like I'm way in over my head here. I just want to make it all...go away."

"Well, son, having sex is a big decision. You've been taught the consequences that come with that decision...and now you know, first hand."

"So what, don't have sex because she might be your girlfriend's evil sister?" Cody half-spat, exasperated.

"And anyway, I used a condom, Dad."

"Regardless, sex has consequences, Cody! Good or bad! Now, you came to us, and that's good. But I'm telling you---if this girl is pregnant, she very well may choose to keep the baby. Or, she may choose to abort. That's your child. You're involved in this whether you want to be or not. It's not fair what happened to you, but if it had been Susie, she could have gotten pregnant too. Condoms can break, Code. Sandrine will be punished for what she's done, but you've got to deal with what you've done, too. I'm not saying sex is bad. But it is a very adult decision. A decision I would have preferred you waited for."

"So once again, I've disappointed you. Brilliant," Cody said, standing up to leave.

"We're scared for you honey. We wish you would have waited. This girl didn't have your consent and that's the absolute worst. But you don't see any problem if it had been Susie, and that's just as bad. You've got your whole life ahead of you. And you said it yourself. You're not ready to be someone's dad." She shook her head, at a loss for ways to handle the situation.

"Do you have an opinion on things? If this baby is really there? Really yours?"

"That's what I'm thinking! I thought she was lying at first, that she's not even pregnant, but if she is...why is it automatically mine? She's likely just messing with me again, isn't she?" Cody said, sighing heavily, and sinking back into the chair.

"I suppose we'll find out," Garrin said.

"And I'm not disappointed, Cody. We did want you to wait, but you've made your decision, and it was yours to make. I am proud of you for coming to us instead of trying to hide this. We would have found out eventually though, that's the way things work round this place, isn't it."

He gave Cody a gentle smile, trying to make him feel a little better.

Cody sighed again.

"Susie's not doing so well, as you can probably imagine. I feel horrible...I don't know what to do for her."

"I'm sure she's upset." Luna nodded.

"Is she angry with you? Can't be much less than disturbing, knowing your sibling slept with your boyfriend. Have you and Susan been sleeping together?" She cringed, hating to have to ask.

"No...that would have been our first time," he replied quietly, looking down in shame.

"I should have known it wasn't her. She's hurt...not so much angry at me, but...she ought to be. I wasn't thinking...if I had been in my right mind...."

"I thought Susie would be my first. Now everything is...screwed up, and...she probably won't ever want to...with me...."

Garrin sighed softly.

"I know you're into Susie now, Cody, but there will be other girls---"

"I love her, Dad. You people don't seem to understand that!"

Luna gave a sideways glance to the floor. She had every doubt that it would have been Susan's first time, but she didn't say anything about it.

Instead she sighed. "Cody we do understand. It's really common to feel that way when you're young, only to feel something stronger later that proves it wasn't what you thought. I remember when Jane was all you could think about. What distinguishable difference is there between the two? What makes Susan the one for you? Over Jane...over anyone. After everything you've come to learn about her..."

Luna was beginning to fear the worst from Cody's feelings. Seemingly he would toss away his life for the girl without a second thought. What would stop them from running away and marrying one another a year from now?

"Well none of that matters now anyway, does it, because Sandrine's the one I've knocked up, it seems," Cody said bitterly, scowling at the floor.

"Alright, enough of that," Garrin said sharply.

"Some bad things have happened. But you're not completely innocent here, Cody. Where did you and Sandrine have sex?"

Cody swallowed hard.

"In my dorm."

"Right. You've broken rules, too, so don't expect to come out of this without dealing with those consequences as well," Garrin said, frowning.

"Alright, I screwed up, I'm sorry! What do you want from me?"

"We want you to think, Cody! Think! You're sixteen years old. Your life is more than Susan Foster. And you know full well you're not supposed to have girls alone in your room, both at school, and at home! You've broken the rules, and now you very well may become a father. Scary as hell, isn't it?"

Cody looked immensely irritated.

"We'll wait to see what happens," Garrin went on, his tone calm again.

"If Sandrine is pregnant and keeping the child, then we'll see where we go from there. In the meantime, I have no choice but to suspend you, Cody. You're lucky to not be expelled. More behavior like this, and you very well could face expulsion, or permanent removal of your prefect's badge."

"How long will I be suspended?"

"Two weeks. And mind you, you'll keep up with your school work."

"Yes Sir," Cody said quietly.

"What am I supposed to do, if she is pregnant? I don't think I'd want her to abort...I mean...I don't want a baby, but...I don't like abortion. But if she keeps it, and it is mine...am I just supposed to step up, and be a father?"

"Well, if it's yours, I suppose you have to decide if you want to father someone who belongs to you by accident, or if what Sandrine did keeps you from having any responsibility." Luna told him.

"Lucky for you, you have time to think. And hopefully, it won't be yours."
