[Luna Darani]

Luna stepped into the staffroom with her enormous stack of homework that she would have to grade very soon. She sat herself down at a large table near a window. There was much too much to be done in her office that could tempt her mind from grading. That is why she was here.

With a great sigh she dipped her quill in red ink and took the first sheet parchment from the stack and began grading.

[Nurse Caryn Weasley]

With a stack of her own papers floating along side her, Caryn whisked into the staff room with a look of overconfidence, as though she felt she didn't belong there yet was trying to act like she did. She was, after all, not even yet eighteen years old, and it felt quite strange to be waltzing into the staff room like this.

It didn't take her long to take note of Luna, though at the site of her, Caryn's stomach turned a little flip. If it were any other professor, it was more likely that Caryn could have reminded herself that she was their colleague, but Luna happened to be the aunt of one of Caryn's best friends, Nolei Nitemare. Last time she looked into matters, Nolei and Luna weren't exactly getting along all that well.

She took in an inaudible yet shaky breath to regain composure, and waved her stack of papers to the table. In her hands was a small scarlett-colored box. She let her nervous little hands grope it's sides for comfort as she greeted her counterpart.

"Hello...erm...Luna. It's so great to have you back at Hogwarts," she said somewhat awkwardly, though her smile was quite sincere.

"Thank you Caryn. It's nice to see you again. How's the job treating you?" she smiled kindly.

[Nurse Caryn Weasley]

"It's alright," Caryn said in an airy tone of voice, though she followed it with a skeptical smile and a heavy sigh.

"To be perfectly honest, it is more work than I thought it would be." She lowered herself into the chair in front of her stack of papers, and stared at it with a sense of hopelessness.

"I can't believe that not five months ago I was complaining about the stress brought on by N.E.W.T.'s. I love the practical part of nursing, but there are so many little details that go into the medical files and paperwork. A good lot of it can be done with a spell, but the Infirmiry office is in such a state...and being understaffed of course...ergh, and then there's the matter of disciplining students...." She breathed an empathetic smile to Luna, shaking her head slightly.

"I've got a lot of respect for someone like you, taking on the stresses of teaching, with three little ones? I suppose I've really taken the leisures of being a student for granted. Honestly, I feel like writing letters of apology to any teacher that I've caused any grief for when I was a student."

[Luna Darani]

"I know what you mean. Things will calm down after a while. It's early, the first years think they're cool for doing anything that pops into their head, after a while they won't be a problem anymore. However, when that happens you might want to make sure it's not an older group ganging up on people. You do remember how Nolei was don't you?" She smiled. She didn't believe there was a single person in this school, apart from the first years, that had been excluded from the wrath of Nolei.

Indeed, when it came to Nolei being up to something, no one was exempt.

[Nurse Caryn Weasley]

"Well...sure but...Nolei is..." Caryn stammered, smiling sheepishly. She pulled of that look oh-so well.

"It's only, it seems different, because she's my friend. All the things she used to pull never seemed as bad to me, because I was a kid as well. It's so strange to be in the hindsight perspective...to just step into this role of authority. It's no easy transition, I can tell you that much."

[Luna Darani]

"I see." Luna smiled.

"Have you by any chance spoken to Nolei? She won't speak to me and I miss her terribly."

[Nurse Caryn Weasley]

"I--I see her now and then, yes," Caryn replied somewhat awkwardly. She inwardly made a face at her mild fumbling, and resorted to making herself busy by mindlessly sorting through the papers before her.
