Title: Workin' 9 to 5
Description: Ooooopen.

Claire Green - July 5, 2012 01:14 AM (GMT)
Acacius groaned and pulled at the tacky vest that was part of his work ensemble. Claire was getting tired of him lazing around and always bugging her for her money, and decided to put the boy to work. One of her friends boyfriends uncle owned the amusement park downtown, and she had pulled some strings through the network to get him hired in one of the stalls in the midway.

Ace shifted uncomfortably as the zit faced teenager droned on about how to do his job. Halfway through his sentence, he stopped the beer gutted male and said, "Do we seirously have to wear this ridiculous get-up?" He gestured to the uniform, which consisted of a button up long sleeved dress shirt, pink bowtie, striped hat and dress pants with formal shoes. The manager (or whoever was in charge of creating the dresscode) obviously had never ventured outside in any kind of summer climate... or had a shred of taste.

"It's in the middle of bloody summer! Besides that, would going shirtless attract the ladies? Especially you, I mean, just look at that sixpack!" Ace grinned, pulling up Mr. Pimple's shirt to reveal a large hairy white gut. Acey couldn't help but cringe before Zitty Marley flushed completely red and yanked his shirt down. He stammered, "Following dresscode is essential. Do you have any more questions?"

Not wanting to talk to Greasy anymore, Ace shook his head. Tubs led Ace to his new workplace, the Shooting Gallery. After having the rules and the designated prizes for each number of points won explained to him, Ace took his place behind the counter and proceeded to man the stall.

Ace's first day went pretty smoothly, and he began to like his job working with people (although he almost got in a fist fight with a guy who wanted a Big Monkey but only had enough points to get a Chubby Bunny) and entertaining the masses. With another glance at his Mickey Mouse watch, he noticed he only had fifteen more minutes before he was finished for the day. With a great sigh of relief, he grinned at his next customer and leaned forward with his arms on the counter.

"Hey there. Care for a game?"

OOC: Open.

"Go on then, Rox!" one of Roxy's friend's giggled, pushing her towards the booth. This was admittedly her first time at such a muggle-type affair, but her friends had coaxed her into going, promising her that she'd have a great time.

Roxy arched a thin brow at Ace, vaguely recognizing him.

"All I do is shoot?"

The other girls giggled amongst themselves, making Roxy roll her eyes a little.

"Yes, ma'am!" Acacius smiled, tipping his striped hat to the girl and winking to her friends. "Get enough points, and you'll win a prize."

Roxy gave a half smirk, picked up her weapon (so to speak), and aimed carefully, trying her best to mimic what little of gun shooting she had seen on muggle films.

By the end of her round, she had barely enough to win the smallest of prizes.

"I want another go," she said, giving an self-assured smile as she paid out more tickets for a second turn.

She did scarcely any better the second time, but didn't look like she was about ready to give up.

"Rox, come on, then...you can't be brilliant at everything, can you?" one of her friends said, smirking at Ace as she tried to pull Roxy away from the booth.

Roxy hesitated, then caught sight of a booth next door closing up shop.

"Oh, are you shutting down, too?" she questioned Ace.

"Because I will do anything you ask if you let me have just one more go," she added, giving a frisky smile.

Acacius chuckled. He had a soft spot for people of the female persuasion, even if it meant techinically breaking the rules of the job.

"Alright then," He smirked, a plan hatching. "You lose this round, you get a consolation prize stuffed rabbit, and you buy me and your friends some dinner. You win this round, you get a bear, and I buy you dinner, just the two of us. Deal?"

Roxanne Weasley - July 14, 2012 07:39 PM (GMT)
"I'll win this round," Roxy said with another self-assured nod, narrowing her eyes and smirking softly as she prepared to shoot again.

"Erm, Rox...my parents are here to pick us up," one of her friends, a curly blond with a slightly pudgy face said quietly, furrowing her brow with slight irritation.

"Cool," Roxy responded in a bored tone, aiming for her target. She let out a short breath, then hit every target, dead on, simply pretending they were little Quidditch hoops. it wasn't the same sort of motion, but it seemed to do the trick.

"YES!" she exclaimed, lifting her arms in victory, and doing a small little dance that made her mounds of curls bounce around.

"Good job I didn't lose, I'm flat broke after today's adventures. Expensive park you work at here. I hope they're paying you well," she said to Ace in a full grin, not caring that her friends had started to walk off without her.

Acacius rose his brows in astonishment. "I think you just hustled me," He chuckled, shaking his head. He shrugged as he hoisted himself on the counter to grab the bear hanging from the ceiling and tossing it to her.

"Uh... I think your friends are leaving," Acacius gestured off to the disappearing group of women.

Roxanne Weasley - July 16, 2012 04:53 PM (GMT)
"And I think you owe me dinner," Roxy said as she held the bear to her side.

"I am rather picky, so if you just want to hand over the gold, I'll buy my own," she added, giving a thoughtful, yet slightly cheeky expression.

Leslie Wilkinson - July 16, 2012 06:11 PM (GMT)
Acacius rose both of his brows and chuckled slightly, in an astonished way. She was definitely a firey one. "No gold," He said, shaking his head as he began to shut up the stall. "Just muggle money. And that's not part of the deal."

Roxanne Weasley - July 17, 2012 03:36 AM (GMT)
Roxy gave a half smirk.

"Just the two of us," she quoted him, giving a slightly perturbed, but nonetheless amused look.

"Roxy!" a middle aged witch called out, rushing through the crowd towards her.

"That's my ride," Roxy remarked quietly, giving a slightly pained look as her mother's friend did not look happy to have made to be kept waiting.

"Do you know where The Oriole is?" she asked Ace.

"That's where I'll be tomorrow, early evening. Find me there if you intend to keep up your end of the deal," she said, giving a playful smirk.
