Title: Owlery, Anyone?

Lee Vilenski - August 9, 2007 11:07 PM (GMT)
Lee walked up into the Owlery. He wanted to send a detialed letter to his dad about his first week back inside the castle. The letter which, wasn't very long in length had taken him all morning to write, as it was often very hard to use the correct language when writing to his father, who was now somewhere in Scotland practicing for the european Quiddich tourdament in Russia.

Hello dad,

Just a very quick letter to say that I am safely back inside the castle. How's the training? I'm going to go and try out for my house team later in the year, I hope that I get in this time, last year you know I was just a sub, but Peter Glacier has just left this year, so I should at least get a start this year. I haven't got any lessions untill monday, so I have all of today off, after coming of the train. I hope your well, and that I hear back from you later.

Yours Quiddichly,

Lee

He read it through, it was - for him, - a well writen letter. He Unhitched his bag that was thrown over one of his shoulders, and had a look inside. It wasn't the neatest of bags, but he did manage to pull out some string from inside. He then rolled the letter into a scroll, and tied it up with the string that he had pulled out of his bag. He then looked around for his bird, Robert. Robert was a Dark Brown tawny Owl. But, the room seemed to be made out of Dark brown birds! After 10 minutes of searching, he finaly found his bird by shouting his name in a high-pitched voice.

"Ah! There you are" Lee said, quieting the over-enthousiastic bird, and then using the string tied the letter to the birds leg. "This is to dad! Understand?" Lee said. The bird then hooted and left through the open hole in the wall. Lee then shrugged and waddled back through towards the door. It was a nice day he thought as he stopped by another hole in the wall...

Walking up the long staircase that led to the owlery with an airborne owl following closely behind was Ravenclaws' very own Delilah Blackwood. Her mum had told her to write at least twice a week the day she got on the train. Well, she didn't and there was probably a howler on the way if she didn't get to it soon.

She reached the top of the staircase and was struck with a rather curious thought. What would she write about? There was no way she could squeeze everything into one letter that was light enough for her poor owl to carry. No, her adventures would have to be condensed to the basics it’s not like her family didn’t know what magic was like.

She walked through the stone doorway muttering something to Cecco about not dilly-dallying whilst delivering her letter to her mum, but stopped as she nearly walked into a boy who was trying to exit. “Oh sorry!” She said stopping abruptly, but Cecco kept going and perched with another owl across the room.

Lee took his eyes off the Horizon and looked around, there was two people behind him ((I asume Cecco is a person, if not, sorry! I can't be bothered to look for your profile!)), a women and a man. "Oh, sorry" She said to him. The Man had walked on and was fussing around an Owl.

"Don't Worry" he grumbled, as he turned round. This woman was obvously in Ravenclaw, with the blue and white tie, and cuffs, but she did look about his age. "Whats your Name?" He said, trying to get rid of the grumble, but failing misserably. She was good looking.... He thought, trying to keep his mind heavily on the conversation.

Giving a friendly smile she shifted her bag onto her shoulder more, as it was slipping off. "Delilah Blackwood." She said with a more confident tone than she had often used. Out of habit she nervously bit the side of her lip she hadn't really talked to anyone yet that wasn't in her own house. "What's your's?" She asked, which was a somewhat brave move on her behalf. On a normal day she would have just gave a meak wave and continued on her way something told her this boy would be nice.

((OOC: Cecco is an owl but I can see how you got that... No worries!))

Lee said in the same pretend-steady voice that he had just used before, to answer this question. "Oh, nice to meet you." This was true. This was really the first person he had met who hadn't been impoing, or worse - Bossy!

"I'm Lee, Lee Vilenski." He said, quite a lot of people were fans of his fathers, but that to be honest didn't bother him. He was very used to it now and was quite sure that if he wanted to do anthing himself, was to play for england himself one day.

Vilenski... Sounds familiar. She thought trying to figure out where she had heard the name. Maybe it was one of the names dad brought up while talking about his co-workers at the ministry.... She let go of the thought, thinking she'd figure it out some other time. "So..." She muttered trying to break the silence. "Are you a first year?" It was the best she could come up with, and she wasn't quite sure what year he was in anyway. He could have been a second year.

Lee Vilenski - August 15, 2007 05:41 PM (GMT)
Lee knew that had been coming. Small talk was always something like that. He was a first year after all....

"Yeah, it's a big place here isn't it?" Lee said. Lee was just one of those people that would get lost in a cupboard. So far this term he had alredy:
  • Fallen through a trick stair on a staircase
  • Walked into a door.
  • Walked into a solid wall, that he though was a door just pretending to be a wall
  • Walked onto the third floor by accident.
  • Gone looking in the great hall for his common room
And been a full 50 minutes late for an lesson. The lesson only lasted an hour...

Hogwarts was bugger than she though it would be, and even with a good sense of direction she couldn't find her way around to her classes. "Big?" Delilah replied gazing briefly out the stone arch window, a group of kids sitting around a tree catching her eye. She quickly dismissed them from her mind and turned to face Lee once again. "Yeah, you could say that." Her fingers gripped onto the strap of her shoulder bag, as it felt heavier, and shifted the bag onto her shoulder again.

"So, are you in any clubs? I wanted to join one or two but I was afraid I wouldn't know anyone." She said hoping he was in any one of them. It would be better adjusting if she actually knew someone.

Lee Vilenski - August 22, 2007 10:03 PM (GMT)
Clubs? He had joined the dueling club, and the charms club, but it frightened him so much that he would get jinxed in those clubs that he hadn't turned up to all of the classes! But, he had signed up...

"Yeah, I've joined the Dueling club, and the charms club. But, Even though I have joined them, I don't know a lot of magic, it all just seems to go in one ear and out of the other at the moment, it's all very confusing."

He was glad that it was the weekend, his brain was extremely fully, and all week he had been walking around as if he had a 10 tonne wieght on his brain.

Delilah Blackwood - August 23, 2007 03:03 PM (GMT)
Charms Club had sounded interesting, but she was sure she could learn more in books. She could move in her own learning pace if she learned on her own, eliminating the chance of looking like a complete fool or like a showoff. Dueling club defiantly wasn't something she wanted to do, too dangerous in her opinion. What if someone’s spell went really wrong.... Not that that happened, but Delilah was just afraid it would. "Yeah, those clubs are neat." She said with a slight nod. "I find spells to be quite simple. It won't be so confusing once you get the hang of it. It just takes a little getting used to, that's all."

This was probably true.... he thought. He had never been the intelectual type of person, but never been very rowdy either. Sometimes he thought that he had been dislexic, but had never really found it hard to read, just to remember. of course, there are always things more important than intelligence, things that Lee didn't have either.

"I'm going to need all the help I can get I bet. We were in transfiguration the other day, and I couldn't do anything. It was something very simple, but nothing happened..."
