Gundam Vagrant Destiny
-- Coliseum Rules --
The coliseum is a battle arena created to allow pilots from the game to battle it out in a regular competition to find the best of the best. Anyone may enter so long as they have an approved mobile weapon, and follow the rules. Combat in the coliseum follows the same patterns, and rules as regular combat apart from the additions listed below.
- How To Join -
To join the coliseum all you have to do is either fill in the section on your profile for Coliseum with Yes when you submit it, or send a PM to Tifa Mysteria stating that you would like to join. You will be added to the draw list as soon as both your character and machine are approved or your PM is received, and your status is verified.
- Match Announcements -
Coliseum matches will be held every weekend. Matches will be drawn and announced by Tifa Mysteria on the Thursday before they are held so that players have advanced warning of the drawing results. The battle topic will be created by the staff on Friday, and from that point the two players in the match will have until Monday morning to finish their battle. If no winner is decided before this time the fight is classed as a stalemate and will end in a draw automatically. Note: Anyone caught deliberately prolonging the battle to cause a stalemate will not receive any Points, and may be penalized further. If an opponent does not enter the battle within 24 hours of the battle topic being posted they are automatically disqualified, and will receive no Points or Coliseum Credits, while their opponent, providing that they posted, receives the winning status, as well as the added bonus.
- Structure -
The coliseum works by pitting one pilot against another in a no holds bar scenario. Depending on your current level you will be placed into one of five different leagues. Each week half of each league will fight each other, and then the following week the other half will fight each other. This will be repeated over the next two weeks in different orders, so that by the end of the month each player involved in the coliseum will have taken part in two battles. At the end of each match, both players will receive Coliseum Credits and the person with the most at the end of the month is promoted to the next league regardless of their level. Further information about Coliseum Credits can be found below.
- Rewards -
The coliseum will offer rewards beyond those normally given for battles. Players will be awarded points depending on how well they roleplayed during the battle just as normal, however the winner will receive an added bonus. The loosing player will receive just the normal roleplaying reward. If the battle ends in a tie or the staff call a stalemate, neither player will receive a bonus prize, and will only receive normal roleplay rewards. A draw will also result in a staff decision to determine the winner, however the winner chosen will not receive any additional bonus. The minimum bonus a play can receive is 10 Points. Players who do not appear in a match will not receive anything. Matches also award Coliseum Credits. Further information about Coliseum Credits can be found below.
- Coliseum Credits -
Coliseum Credits are a special kind of points that are awarded to both players at the end of matches. Winners receive 3 Coliseum Credits, while losers receive 1 Coliseum Credit. If a match ends in a draw, both players will receive 2 Coliseum Credits. At the end of the month, the player with the most Coliseum Credits is promoted to the next league, regardless of their current level, and is given the League Advancement Bonus. Other players involved in the coliseum can exchange their Coliseum Credits for Points at the end of the month. Each Coliseum Credit is worth 10 Points when traded.
- The Leagues -
Depending on your level you’ll be placed into one of five different leagues. This is to try and prevent the unavoidable attempts of high level players to abuse low level players for easy victories. Although this can still occur due to level differences within each league, it will not occur at the frequency it would have with out the leagues. The leagues are as follows.
Level 0 - 6: Rookie League
Level 7 - 15: Amateur League
Level 16 - 25: Pro League
Level 26 - 39: Elite League
Level 40+: Master League
You progress to the next league at the end of the month automatically if you reach the level requirements. Also, as stated above, if you win the league for the month, you move up regardless of your level. If you are the only player in your league, you will not be able to take part in any matches until someone is promoted to your league by level, or by winning the tournament of the league below you. Please note that any player stuck in a league by themselves for a full month will be given 20 points at the end of the month as compensation for not being able to compete. If you come last in the league you are currently in, and you were promoted to the league due to winning the league below you, meaning your level is lower than the requirements for that league, you will be demoted back down to the league below you for the following month.
- League Advancement Bonuses -
Moving up the leagues is something all players should strive for. Not only for the glory of being a good pilot in a higher league, but to earn league advancement bonuses as well. When a player is promoted in league rank, either by winning the league or gaining the required level, they get a choice in which type of bonus they will receive. They can choose to either receive a large lump sum of points to upgrade their current machine, or they can decide to scrap their current machine entirely, losing everything on it, except unique items, while receiving no refunds, sales or otherwise, and get to build an entirely new one with an increased point limit. The choice as to which you go for is up to you. The bonuses are as follows.
League 2 (Amateur) Promotion:
Create a new machine: 200 Points
Points Lump Sum: 75
League 3 (Pro) Promotion:
Create a new machine: 300 Points
Points Lump Sum: 150
League 4 (Elite) Promotion:
Create a new machine: 450 Points
Points Lump Sum: 250
League 5 (Master) Promotion:
Create a new machine: 650 Points
Points Lump Sum: 300
