Bio: Born and raised in an old shelter that had been frozen under a glacier. Jacob was born into a group of multiracial people. The schooling system was behind the times and when the glacier had receded enough for them to get out they found that they were far behind the current technological level. Jacob was send off to a military school to compensate. Slowly he learned how the world had changed since before the great freeze. It was a slow process, and he still tends to forget the changes in technology.
After he finnished school Jacob joined in the rebuilding efforts when he came of age. He quickly became known for his intellegent approaches to dangerous situations and his color blindness to nationality. He might have just stayed another noobody, but for an incedent that happened one day while he was trasporting supplies. He came across a ship that had crashed into the ocean and were rapidly sinking. At great personal risk he took his ship down and managed to save them with a clever manouver, even though his ship was not made to operate under the water.
His fame for saving the ship made him a canditate for becoming the commanding officer of the Duraeon 4 progect. It was the fact that it had been people from the asian countries that sealed it. Quickly he was trained for a more diplomatic role than the one that he had prevoiusly held, and before he knew it he was now in charge of the single largest ship in the sol system. It had mining facilities, it could go anywhere. What it couldn't do was fight. It had no weapons for fear that an armed ship of that size could do in combat. That was mosly just publicity though. Having a ship that big only meant that it was harder to defend. Even so they stand alone, answering to no government, being the only truely nutreal place in the world.
The Duraeon progect was our last best hope for mankind. A selfcontained world, almost 5 kilometres long that we regaurded as neutral territory. A place of commerce and diplomicy, for a quarter of a million humans from around the globe. A shining beacon, all alone in the night. It was the dawn of the third age of mankind, the year that the great fire engulfed us all. This is the story of the last of the Duraeon stations and it's commander.
The year is 2250, the name of the place is Duraeon 4, the name of the man is Jacob Wright.
