... does he have a name that I've missed...? happy.gif'' I'm horrible at remembering names. But anyway, that guy rocks. With his 'thee's and 'thou's. How much will he be in the comic? Because I love that guy.

... well, not love. But he's awesome, man. Does he show up quite a bit, or is he just someone to get the plot going?

He? He shows up a lot. If you didn't catch it, He's Lerato's dad- and unlike a lot of comics with characters in this age range (most of the main characters are about 19 or so), families do play a big part.
but he doesn't always use old-english. That was mostly just ceremony. There are strips where he speaks normally, but later in the day he does tend to be a bit more eloquent.

Ah.... *didn't catch it* Anyway, thank you! I like the family-themed thing you have going on, while we're on the subject. It's something- as you said- that you don't see too much.

well, it just seems strange for these characters to be floating in a void, when most of them -are- young and inexperianced. Lerato's left the tribelands only once or twice in his entire life, and no one in the current main cast has...

besides, this comic has lots of stuff that other comics don't have. I make it a point to do that.

Yeah... mine has that, too. Like a villain that DOESN'T have fangs, dark hair, et cetera. And villains that aren't really... villains. I look up histories to things like elves and fae and make them like they're supposed to be. Faeries- dark and dreary because they're given the name 'doomed to die', and elves... elves.... I just hate elves. I give the different groups different personalities. Anyway, if you don't mind, might I ask what things you have in your comic that you believe are original? I'd like to hear. happy.gif-

well, centaurs...a more classical look at fae(that they are essentially things too good for hell and too bad for heaven, and encompass a dang large range)....centaurs out the wazoo...I dunno what else...I'll figure them out as it goes...I won't say about the villain, because he hasn't come in yet, and you'd know it was him automatically if I said the most noticable and least sterotypical thing about him.

Having centaurs out the wazoo sounds like it'd be rather uncomfortable. But there goes me and my one-track mind again.

Oh...? I don't care if people notice my villain right away. It's not like he's actually a villain. The most shocking thing about him hasn't even been told to my closest RPing buddies. And they know an AWFUL lot about him that's overwhelmingly surprising.

Hm... As I said in Lerato's interview, there are only two centaurs in Dimarchai. Not centaurs out the wazoo, I'm afraid. I'm rather balanced when it comes to races. Though, elves have been going up in numbers lately.... I admit it! I love their ears!

I also try to make my catgirls less like those 'Neko' whatever you want to call them things. They're like centaurs. Their bottom half is- usually- the bottom half of a lion. No cat ears. Their appearance HAS been messed around with, though, so that they can open their mouths wider to use their fangs easily, so they can smell better, and so they can see better. It doesn't make them ATTRACTIVE, but hey- you win some, you lose some.

Anything else you have that you think is really original? I like hearing about how other people do research or try to bring out the truth about the mythological creatures. Like the Fae. Everyone has them so bright and bubbly with wings and everything. Then I look at my fae and get all depressed.... Dimarchai's pretty messed up....

Anyway, as you've probably found out, the name of my Dimension and Plane is Dimarchai. What's the name of your world?

...good question. It largely depends on who you ask- the dwarves(these dwarves are kinda jerks) call it Sudai, the centaurs call it either Jeiasha or Mata, depending on where they are, the humans, the gnomes, and the elves call it Mata, the fae call it whatever they want to (a good plaything, often enough), and the gods call it by a name that just speaking it is enough to reshape it. what people on other continents call it, who knows? ocean travel is not very advanced.

a lot of the races of this world come from fae- the only sapient non-devil/angel species that does not come from fae are the humans. the elves are what happens when fae and humans breed a lot and the halfbreeds breed with humans some more, ect, ect, and the gnomes, dwarves, and centaurs are just kinda 'fallen fae.' This is why there are no half-gnome, half humans. (This story began as a DnD campaign, so I kept a lot from that, and fiddled around with it.) so in this world, Elves are really just humans with a stable (and large) amount of fae blood.

I hates elves. Especially when they have ridiculously long ears. I think they would caught in doors the length that some people draw them. [/rant]

You don't see a lot of centaurs, which is really depressing. I have no centaurs in my story, but then, I don't have elves or vampires either.

I have a cat-person though. They are rather androginous though because I haven't decided whether they should be male or female. (Is that original? I don't know...)

Aermis, your take on cat-peoples reminds me sort of sphinxes. Have you read Mixed Myth ('tis a webcomic)? It has a sphinx in it.

Lesse, original things...I personally try to be as original as possible (it's an obsession of mine), but I think my most original thing is the librarian Waffle. Well, sort of. She looks kinda like a robot-thing, but she isn't one...arg.

Yeah. You all probably are best off ignoring my blitherings.

I actually like elves. not the tolkein-ey ones(they sucked, they lacked the spirit of the really awesome elves), the ones that fight, make love, feast, make some more love, play chess, abduct some human women so they can make love to them, and live in a highly illusion-based society because it's really falling apart to the point where they have to rely on humans for just about everything, but they still veiw themselves as better. I think a character I'm exploring for some writing is that sort of elf- he hides it with a glammer and does magic tricks in parks for bus fair(or gas money for a motorbike, haven't decided which)- and he secretly goes and takes the goodness(foyson) out of food when he can't afford to buy anything to eat.
