Title: Poke Trek
Description: No Kirk Here
Kiyza - August 19, 2011 02:15 AM (GMT)
Taking her leave from the Vigoton Pokemon Center, Murasaki exited onto Route 302. The trail in front of her looked rather long, but she had no intentions of leaving for the next town quite yet. Rather, she would stay on the trail and work her team up until it was stronger. She took a brief look around, searching for any prospective targets.
Helios - August 19, 2011 02:18 AM (GMT)
A Venipede was scurrying around in some dead leaves.
Kiyza - August 19, 2011 02:25 AM (GMT)
Murasaki took a quick look over at the Venipede and got her Pokeball ready. With a quick chuck, she sent out her Larvesta. Once out of the ball, the little bug looked back at her with large, innocent eyes, apparently not wanting to fight.
"This is not time for that crap!" she shouted. "Use Ember!"
The Pokemon reluctantly agreed, somewhat frightened by its trainer, and took aim at the opposing Venipede.
Helios - August 19, 2011 04:30 AM (GMT)
Startled, the Venipede was struck, and the attack also singed the damp, mildewy leaves. But in retaliation, Venipede curled up tightly and began to roll...
Rollout.
The rock attack smooshed Larvesta, doing massive damage.

Murasaki winced slightly at the damage her Pokemon had suffered. The little bug's tufts of fur were still flattened slightly from the attack, and it seemed to still be in pain.
"Come on and keep it up," she ordered. "One more round of Ember."
Helios - August 20, 2011 04:04 AM (GMT)
Amet winced, but soon shook off the damage.
Venipede had not stopped rolling, however, and turned around, ready to charge again with even greater speed...
Barreling in, it seemed that Amet would have trouble outspeeding it... the two were fairly close in speed as was...
Moments before impact, however, Amet got out its blazing embers, laying them as a trap while it moved out of the way.

Murasaki breathed a slight sigh if relief before recalling her Pokčmon. This time, she had gotten lucky. The next figh might not be so easy. She looked over at the unconscious Venipede on the ground, and was slightly squeamish at the sight of its legs twitching. She turned her head to it and continued along the trail.
Helios - October 8, 2011 04:18 PM (GMT)
(Alright, so just as a side note it's epic day today :) Sorry I haven't gotten to this, I kinda forgot I was the one modding it and didn't have any handy reminders)
The path was a clear cut through the forest. The air was crisp, and the sky a stark contrast to the greenery of the forest.
Kiyza - October 8, 2011 04:25 PM (GMT)
Murasaki's mind wandered off to her weakened Larvesta as she walked. With luck, she'd be able to heal her self, and Murasaki wouldn't have to waste a Potion. A waste of a Potion was a waste of money, and money was something she didn't have.
She glanced up at the sky for just an instant, and cracked the slightest smile.
Bluto - October 8, 2011 04:36 PM (GMT)
Your glance at the sky showed a swarm of Ledyba, lazily flying north. Unfortunately, they were flying too high to properly challenge.
Kiyza - October 8, 2011 04:49 PM (GMT)
Murasaki could see a cloud of red pass her by, a swarm of Ledbya coming from the southwest. They were much too high up to challenge, though, considering her partners were mostly ground-based. She had no choice but to let the fly off.
Bluto - October 8, 2011 04:51 PM (GMT)
The path seemed fairly straightforward, when ahead you spotted a Poke Ball, propped up against a tree.
Kiyza - October 8, 2011 04:53 PM (GMT)
Murasaki eyed the Pokeball, and thought just for an instant about taking it. However, her mind wandered back to the guilt she had felt not too long ago from stealing her Mudkip... But a peek inside, that wouldn't be too bad, would it?
She sidled up to the tree and crouched down, hesitant to push the button.
Bluto - October 8, 2011 05:15 PM (GMT)
The Poke Ball, upon closer examination, looked.. off. Instead of the shiny and reflective metal finish of a normal Poke Ball, this one seemed to have a matte finish.
Kiyza - October 8, 2011 05:49 PM (GMT)
Murasaki took immediate notice of the Pokeball's strange coloring, but thought nothing of it. She paused briefly as her finger neared the switch, and took a deep breath, but pressed it anyway.

Kiyza - October 8, 2011 06:08 PM (GMT)
Murasaki jumped with the squeak, and pressed it again, resulting in yet another squeak. Was it... a toy? And if so, what was it doing out here? She thought for a moment to herself, would it be better to leave it here for someone to find, or return it to them herself? She had no use for a toy.
Bluto - October 8, 2011 06:16 PM (GMT)
The Poke Ball, as you were thinking, turned around, revealing a strange fungus-looking creature.
:Foongus:
Kiyza - October 8, 2011 06:42 PM (GMT)
Murasaki was taken aback at first by the Pokemon, and quickly snapped to her feet. She eyeballed the unusual looking Pokemon. A Pokemon that so closely resembled a Pokeball... perhaps this could come in handy at some point in time.
Damaging it as little as possible would be wisest, she thought. And with that, she tossed out her Gastly, and backed up a few steps.
"Start out with Hypnosis," she commanded.
Bluto - October 8, 2011 06:46 PM (GMT)
Your Gastly wasted no time in delivering a wave of hypnotic energy to the unsuspecting mushroom critter.

Murasaki readied a Pokeball, confident that her opponent would hardly put up a struggle, provided it remained asleep. She chucked it at the slumbering Foongus, mentally keeping her fingers crossed.

Shake..
Shake..
Shake..
(Just get on with it already!)
DING!
This Foongus seemed easy to catch, though, and it seems not to be in the most fighting-fit form.

Kiyza - October 8, 2011 06:57 PM (GMT)
Murasaki checked her Pokedex for information about the critter she had just caught. It seemed to her pitiful, but considering the effort she had spent catching it, a fair game. With time, she'd toughen it up. It was going to be a valuable asset, she could tell.
[Foongus is added to the party, Zubat is set to the PC]
Bluto - October 8, 2011 07:02 PM (GMT)
The path seems about the same as it was - fairly empty ahead.
Kiyza - April 6, 2012 05:46 PM (GMT)
Murasaki took a quick look at her Pokeball before chucking it at the ground. In a flash of light, the newly caught Foongus appeared. The Pokemon was still dozing off, oblivious to it surroundings, and probably the fact it had been caught in the first place. Somewhat irritated by this, she kicked the Pokemon -- lightly, so that it wouldn't cause too much damage.
The Black Knight - April 10, 2012 12:50 AM (GMT)
The snoozing Grass-type was knocked over when you gently kicked it. Upon hitting the ground, it immediately awoke. The small Pokemon quickly glanced around to see what had disturbed it's slumber, until it laid it's little eyes on your rather intimidated figure. After scanning your entire body, it stopped it's fidgeting completely, and cowered beneath you.
Kiyza - April 10, 2012 01:02 AM (GMT)
The tiny Pokémon awoke in shock as Murasaki's intimidating figure stood above it. At the very least, she thought, it was awake, and that was for the better. She thought it looked pitiful with its scrunched up mouth and wide eyes, but with time, it could learn to become a decent fighter. But it was going to take time and practice, trial and error.
She bent down to the Pokémon's level and reached out a steady hand, attempting to connect with it. If it were too frightened, she realized, it probably wouldn't obey her commands. With luck, it hadn't realized she was the one who'd just kicked it.
The Black Knight - April 10, 2012 01:14 AM (GMT)
As you extended your hand, the Foongus flinched back, and slammed it's punt eyes shut, although within a few moments, it carefully opened one eye to see if your hand was there, and what exactly you were trying to do with it. After realizing you meant no harm, the Pokemon gently placed one of it's stubby hands in your palm. It seemed as though the Grass-type had calmed down after doing so.
