With his first badge in his case, Andrew wandered on Route 2. He had a lot of leveling to do.

Ahead of you, the trees began to become more frequent, and soon you were indisputably in the forest. Ahead of you were two paths, one to the left and one to the right. Either one seemed fine to travel on.

Andrew decided to let random.org decide the path (love breaking the 4th wall :P). random.org decided Andrew had to go left, so he went right.

(Fourth wall? What is this fourth wall you speak of? ;) )

The forest became thicker and thicker, and all was quiet. How long had you been walking? A minute? An hour? Who knows?

..well, you do. It's been roughly 2-3 minutes since you passed the fork in the road. Ahead you could see fairly large pinecones. Hanging from a maple tree. How strange.

Andrew shrugged and passed by, not really disturbed by the pinecones.

Your ablilty to ignore said pinecones was severly reduced when one fell on your head.

Judging by how much it had hurt, this was larger than a typical pinecone...

"Ouch!" Andrew exclaimed, rubbing his head. "That hurt!"
He examined the pinecone. Perhaps it isn't a pinecone, but a Pineco!

You noticed a blueish hue to the object, and this confirmed your suspicions. With a shout of "Pine pine CO!" it turned around, so you could see its eyes.

It glared at you, mad that you had disturbed its graceful fall.

"Ehhmm," Andrew shuttered, while taking a step back, "I'm sorry, Pineco,"

By backing down, the Pineco saw you as submitting to its might. Confidently, it began to hop back into the forest, proud that it had intimidated a human trainer.

Andrew felt stupid. "Man, I can't let me get scared for a Pineco! Tangela! I choose you! Sleeppowder!"

The confident Pineco was caught unaware by the attack, causing it to fall fast asleep, much to the amusement of the other Pineco in the tree.

"Use Constrict" Andrew ordered eagerly

Pineco continued to snooze as Tangela got in a free hit.

"Keep constricting it!" Andrew yelled.

Pineco was constricted yet again.

But this time, it was able to wake up. Angry and startled, it used a powerful tackle attack.

Constrict squeezed the Pineco yet again, and another Tackle was used after it broke free.

"Use Constrict to finish the job!" Andrew yelled.

Pineco fainted from this last attack. 5 exp to Tangela.

Having learned its lesson to not fall on people, the fainted Pineco rolled off of the path and rested where you could still see it.

"Okay, good work Tangela," Andrew said making Tangela return in the red beam emerging from the Poke Ball. Andrew passed the Pineco, not really interested in catching it.

The forest was becoming quite dense around you, but the path was well maintained and easy to follow.

You saw a Spinarak break the forest cover to your right, aiming for the forest on your left.

"Okay, a Spinarak!" Andrew said, "Let's give it a try, Buizel! Use Pursuit!"

The Spinarak jumped, startled, and hustled into the forest for the added cover.

But Buizel, thanks to the move it was using, pursued it to tthe edge of the forest. It hit, but the Spinarak raised its abdomin, showing the face markings. The intimidating gesture sharply lowered Buizel's speed.

Then the Spinarak ran deeper into the forests.

Only a pursuit would be able to catch it, but it would take the battle into the forest. If you did that, you'd have to go into the forest yourself.

"And now use Water Pulse!" Andrew followed up.

The wild Spinarak fled into the forest, as only Pursuit would have been able to catch it.

"Darn it," Andrew said softly, he continued walking after returning Buizel into his Poke Ball.

There was a small gust of wind as you continued forward, and you realized that it must be approaching dusk.

You continued walking forward until you saw a figure in the distance. It appeared to be a person headed your way, but they were too far away to know for sure.

Andrew approached the figure.

It was indeed a person, but they were cloaked in a black hooded sweatshirt. As you approached him, he muttered "sup." and kept walking, not even lifting his head.

"Ehr..." Andrew said "nothing really, you?" he started following the man.

The man noticed your odd 180 degree turn, and found it quite strange that you were following him.

"Uh, what the heck do you want?" he said abrasively.

Andrew was kinda creeped out, but recovered fast.

"I don't know, it's kinda lonely here, ya know?" Andrew said. "I thought, well maybe we could talk while traveling, or better having a battle."

"I'm obviously going in the other direction. So uh, yeah, use your head. Get lost." he said, while continueing towards Vigoton.

"Okay, good point," Andrew admitted and continued his path, while murmuring "no need to be emo,"

The boy heard your last point.

"Well, if you wanna be a jerk and try and insult me." he said while swiftly turning around.

"Go, Houndour. Sick whatever pokemon he sends out." he ordered.

"Okay! Buizel, I choose you!" Andrew exclaimed and Buizel was sent out of the Poke Ball. "Use Water Pulse!"

"Of course." the guy commented on your type choice. "Smog."

Houndour went forward courageously, diving through the water pulse until it finally made it through and summoned forth a noxious cloud of smoke, startling Buizel and poisoning it as well.
