Title: Chikorita Quest
Description: Hopefully there won't be a sequel!
Kiyza - November 2, 2010 12:39 AM (GMT)
Kiyza tenaciously walked onto the dirt path of Route 302. Her Tentacool following along side of her, however, was less than bold. It was hiding slightly behind her, more nervous than before.
"Hey, cut it out!" Kiyza said, feeling the little critter's tentacles brush up against her. It stung slightly and she brushed the tentacle off, feeling the sting on her hand as well.
The Black Knight - November 2, 2010 12:44 AM (GMT)
The route was peaceful and calm. The Chikorita in question was nowhere to be seen, let alone any other Pokemon... very odd...
Kiyza - November 2, 2010 12:54 AM (GMT)
Kiyza could feel a tentacle crawling under shirt now. It stung like mad against her bare skin.
"I said cut that out!" Kiyza shouted. Her cry echoed through the forest. Kurage seemed ashamed of himself and hid his eyes as best as he could.
"Hey, come on, I didn't mean it that way," Kiyza said, trying to snap her companion out of it. "I need you to be strong for me right now. Something's up here, and besides, we need to get that Chikorita!"
The Black Knight - November 2, 2010 01:00 AM (GMT)
As soon as you mentioned the word "Chikorita", you happen to spot an odd looking leaf in the distance, to your right. You could not make out the body, if there was one, though.
Kiyza - November 2, 2010 01:05 AM (GMT)
Kiyza saw the leaf out of the corner of her eye. All of the leaves around here were about as large as that one. It was almost impossible to tell them apart, provided this was the Pokemon she was looking for.
"Kurage," Kiyza whispered. "I want you to use Poison Sting on that leaf." The Tentacool was again reluctant, not willing to fight in the slightest. She grabbed the Pokemon by the sides and picked him up. "Come on, if you can't do it,there's no way I can. I'm just a trainer, not a Pokemon." Kurage shook from side to side, trying to get loose. He managed to squrim his way out of Kiyza's hands.
"Fine, if you won't, I will," Kiyza said in a hushed, but confident voice. She slowly inched closer to the leaf in question.
The Black Knight - November 2, 2010 01:17 AM (GMT)
As you approached the leaf, it began to quickly, and violently rustle.... It appeared what ever it was, it didn't like that you were getting close to it. At all.
Kiyza - November 2, 2010 01:19 AM (GMT)
Kurage was still hiding behind Kiyza's legs, hoping to stay away from whatever the leaf was. Kiyza edged closer, then as soon as she was sure she could make the leap, she charged forward and tried to Tackle the leaf.
The Black Knight - November 2, 2010 01:36 AM (GMT)
Your tackle was successful, but it was not the Pokemon you wanted.
:Oddish:
Congratulations! You Tackled an innocent Oddish!
Kiyza - November 2, 2010 01:38 AM (GMT)
The little Pokemon seemed frightened in Kiyza's grasp. She immediately let go and motioned for the little Pokemon to scamper off, then sat up with her head in her hand.
"Oh, great going there Kiyza..." she muttered to herself. Kurage seemed almost embarassed by the turn of events.
The Black Knight - November 2, 2010 01:49 AM (GMT)
As the Oddish runs off in fear of the humanoid version of Tackle, your Tentacool, Kurage, seems to be frantically pointing one of it's tentacles toward the path.
Kiyza - November 2, 2010 01:58 AM (GMT)
Kiyza sighed and looked over at her Tentacool. It was pointing at the path behind her, appearing to tell her to get moving on. "Well, I guess we'd better get a move on," she said halfheartedly.
Still, the way Kurage was pointing made Kiyza supspicious. Perhaps he saw something futher down the trail that she didn't.
The Black Knight - November 6, 2010 03:46 AM (GMT)
While it may have appeared that your Tentacool was trying to re-direct you to the path, it was actually pointing to a certain Pokemon, which appeared to be battle another one... unfortunately, you were too far away to tell what those Pokemon were.
Kiyza - November 6, 2010 08:17 PM (GMT)
Kiyza stared for a moment at the two Pokemon on the horizon. The glare of the sun was in her eyes, and further more, they were to far away to make out any distinction, other than faint sillhouttes. She moved off to the side of the path where the sun wasn't so bothersome and inched foward.
The Black Knight - November 6, 2010 08:31 PM (GMT)
As you move closer to this mysterious battle, you could finally see the two combatants. The first being...
:Chikorita:
...The Chikorita! What luck, right?
It was exciting to see the Chikorita so soon. Perhaps the lady was wrong, maybe this was a lot easier than you thought. Oh, wait, the second Pokemon...
:Scyther:
... Of course.
Kiyza - November 6, 2010 08:44 PM (GMT)
Kiyza tentatively watched their every movement, either Pokemon darting back and forth, exchanging their blows with precision and ease. She bided her time, waiting for any sort of opening.
"Kurage, stay here," she said to her Tentacool. She pulled two other Pokeballs out of her purse and flung them in the air, hoping to catch her opponents off guard. Out popped her Riolu and Meowth, both of them looking ready to fight, though somewhat intimidated by their one large opponent. It looked down at them menacingly, though was still preoccupied with its own battle.
"Alright you two, start out with Aerial Ace and Blaze Kick the big one!" Kiyza called from the bushes. Admittedly, she was afraid of the Scyther just as much as her companions were. Relying on her Pokemon, however, was the only thing she could do.
Both Feli and Goku were coordinated in their strikes, leaping into the air, then coming down with their attacks simultaneously.
The Black Knight - November 6, 2010 10:07 PM (GMT)
The Scyther immediately spotted the two Pokemon attacking it with Blaze Kick and Aerial Ace, and side-stepped them both with blinding speed. After all, it does have movements like a ninja's. The Mantis Pokemon then struck the Chikorita, whom appeared hurt, with a Fury Cutter. The Grass-type barely held on.
"Hey, what's going on?!" You heard a male voice say. Upon further investigation, it appeared to belong to a male trainer standing behind Scyther. "This is my battle, what are you trying do?"
Kiyza - November 6, 2010 10:16 PM (GMT)
"Hunh!?" Kiyza said. "I coulda sworn that Scyther wild! Seriously! I've just been looking for that Chikorita because someone asked to. I figured I'd take out the bigger Pokemon first." He expression turned from nervous to ashamed in an instant.
The Black Knight - November 6, 2010 10:40 PM (GMT)
"Yeah, well, keep out of this battle!" He shouted, while his Scyther performed another Fury Cutter. The second swing of the Bug's blades was devastating, but not enough to faint the iron-willed Chikorita. It responded in a Growl attack, which failed to lower the Scyther's attacking power.
Kiyza - November 6, 2010 10:43 PM (GMT)
Kiyza recalled her Pokemon and slipped the Pokeballs back into her purse. Kurage was still waiting with her in the bushes. They watched from afar, biding their time until the battle played out.
The Black Knight - November 7, 2010 12:24 AM (GMT)
"One last Fury Cutter. Go for it." The trainer said, a bit calmer now that he wasn't under attack by you.
The Chikorita was violently slashed again, causing it to fly back a few feet and land fainted. The trainer then pulled out an empty Poke Ball, prepared to capture the rare Grass-type.
Kiyza - November 7, 2010 12:29 AM (GMT)
Kiyza wasn't sure how to react. Part of her wanted to stop the young man from claiming his prize, but she knew that would be greedy. Hopefully, this trainer would be the kind soul to turn the little Chikorita around. She stayed still in the bushes and made no comment.
The Black Knight - November 7, 2010 06:40 AM (GMT)
The man tossed the Poke Ball at the fainted Chikorita. It captured it, but would it be able to contain it?
... Apparently not.
Immediately after it was sucked into the ball, it popped back out. Even though it was unconscious, it seemed like it didn't want to be captured.
Kiyza - November 7, 2010 09:28 AM (GMT)
Kiyza stared at the Pokeball and blinked. To think that there was a Pokemon that could resist capture despite being knocked out. Once again, she decided to wait in the bushes and see how the events played out.
The Black Knight - November 7, 2010 10:22 PM (GMT)
"Alright, you stubborn little weakling..." The man said out of frusteration, perhaps revealing some of his personality.
Again, when he threw the Poke Ball at the Chikorita, the Grass-type resisted once more, but this time, it took a few 'clicks'. Surely the next time it would be captured.
Kiyza - November 23, 2010 11:55 PM (GMT)
Kiyza's mind wandered to the Chikorita, what the future had in store for it. She felt in the back of her mind that this trainer wasn't an adequate one for the little Pocket Monster, but made no comment.
The Black Knight - November 28, 2010 10:48 PM (GMT)
"This better work..." The trainer mumbled to himself, as he again threw the Poke Ball at the Chikorita. And sure enough, the clicks came to an end, resulting in the capture of the rare Grass-type.
Kiyza - December 20, 2010 09:18 PM (GMT)
Kiyza, feeling it was safe, wandered out of the bush. "Hey, uh, I just wanted to say congratulations for catching the Chikorita. I hope you take good care of it..." She said these words with a slight hint of reluctance, because in the back of her mind, she had the slightest feeling he wouldn't take good care of the little Pocket Monster.
The Black Knight - December 20, 2010 10:23 PM (GMT)
"Yup." He simply said, while curiously staring at you in an awkward silence.
Kiyza - December 20, 2010 10:57 PM (GMT)
"Is... is there anything you're not telling me?" Kiyza asked. "You just seem a little... off to me."
The Black Knight - December 20, 2010 11:03 PM (GMT)
He lightly chuckled. "Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing about you. Why are you pestering me, huh?"
Kiyza - December 20, 2010 11:06 PM (GMT)
"Well... part of me just doesn't think you're going to take really good care of the Chikorita," Kiyza replied. "I was told that I needed to find someone who's going to be kind enough to handle it. The way you called it a weakling kind of made me think maybe you're not the right one..." Her voice trailed off at the last sentence.
The Black Knight - December 20, 2010 11:09 PM (GMT)
"Huh. Go figure." He responded. "It's funny how you think you have the right to judge me on my skills as a trainer." His voice deepened as he spoke, indicating his growing anger.
Kiyza - December 20, 2010 11:10 PM (GMT)
"I... I don't mean it like that..." Kiyza said nervously. "I mean, more like your skills as a person..." She knew that she was just getting into deeper and deeper trouble by saying that, but could think of nothing else to say.
The Black Knight - December 20, 2010 11:12 PM (GMT)
"Alright, I see what you mean." He said, surprisingly calm. "... You just think I'm some insensitive jerk who goes around abusing every living thing, right?" He angrily retorted, while slowly advancing toward you.
Kiyza - December 21, 2010 08:19 PM (GMT)
"I uh... no..." Kiyza's voice turned shaky as she slowly moved backward.
The Black Knight - December 22, 2010 06:48 PM (GMT)
"Listen," He bluntly said. "Obviously you think there's something wrong with me..." the man stated, still advancing toward you. "... Or at the very least, you don't want me to have this Chikorita, which I captured fair and square, right?"
Kiyza - December 22, 2010 07:13 PM (GMT)
"Ummmm... uhhhh..." Kiyza was at a loss for words now, and covered her head with her hands.
The Black Knight - December 22, 2010 07:18 PM (GMT)
After seeing you covering yourself, he simply laughed. "What, this is all you got? You accuse me of being a jerk who doesn't care for life, and all you do is cower?"
Kiyza - December 22, 2010 08:16 PM (GMT)
"B-being a jerk doesn't have anything to do with courage... Don't compare them..." Kiyza said quietly. "So, w-what are you going to do?"
The Black Knight - December 22, 2010 08:30 PM (GMT)
"Heh. I could ask you the same thing." He retorted. "I guess what I do depends on what you do first... so go ahead. Do something."
