Chris quietly walked along the path of Route 302, eager to get some training for his new Pichu, Volt.

Kademan followed, more than ready to train his new Abra, Netic.

The forest was a stunning forest green (fancy that). You saw some bird pokemon flying in the distance. Nearby, you saw a well maintained path, but little else other than forest.

"So, do we follow the path?" Kademan asked.

Chris looked around for a brief moment. If the path was well-maintained, people probably took it often.. Too often..

"I don't think we'll find many Pokemon if we stick to the path," Chris said, "Maybe we should try going through the forest our own way?"

It was up to you to decide...

"I guess we should wander through the forest then," Kademan replied.

Chris stifled a 'Let's-a go!' quote and proceeded towards a hopefully more dense part of the forest.

As you broke through the undergrowth, you noticed that it got significantly darker... a deep, dark, green permiated your sight.

Chris pulled off his shades. No sense in wearing them if it was going to be dark in the forest.

"Keep your eyes open Tor," Kademan said, "This is gonna be interesting."

You hear the dreaded snap of twigs.

Chris made a silent gesture to Kademan to stand back-to-back so that they could see anything coming.

Kademan nodded, turning his back to Chris, "If we stand back to back and something comes at us from your side Tor will probably jump onto you head to go after it, just so you know."

You knew something was there now that you were focused. In fact, there seemed to be little shadows just out of sight all around you.

Chris silently reached for his belt. He didn't know what to send out, but he wanted to be ready for anything.

"Brace yourself Tor," Kademan said, "this could get bumpy."

Suddenly, one stepped into the psuedo light...

It was a spinarak. And suddenly, dozens of spinaraks appeared. And behind them, deep in the trees, you saw something bigger...

"This might be bad," Kademan muttered, "Alright Magby, you're up." Kademan tossed out the fire-type.

Chris opened Blaze's Poke Ball, unsure how to respond to another swarm attack except to just fight normally.

You heard a sound from the bigger shape, and then two spinaraks stepped forward. They wanted to battle!

"Alright Lumie," Kademan said, "This one is all you, start off with an Ember!"

"Blaze, follow suit with your own Ember!"

The spinaraks both used scary face after they had been hit. And so, the two fire types started quaking, even though they had the advantage...

"Alright Lumie," Kademan said, "Go for another Ember, these Spinarak don't scare us."

"Use Ember again, but go for the one that was hit by Lumie!"

The fire types, being scared, moved slower than the spinarak. Spinarak used poison sting on lumie and Spinarak* used constrict on Cyndaquil.

Unfortunatly, both embers were directed at the same pokemo at the same time...

Spinarak* fainted (4 exp to both), but Spinarak reamined unharmed.

"Smokescreen!" Chris ordered.

"Another Ember Lumie," Kademan replied, "Take that spider down."

The lone spinarak was joined by another fresh spinarak (known as spinarak**)

The two spinaraks both used poison stings on seprate targets

Lumie took down Spinarak, and Spinarak** was blinded by a screen of smoke

"Alright Lumie," Kademan said, "Take a little break. You're up Alloy!"

The spinarak used a poison sting on Blaze.

The ember also hit it.

"Alloy, use Peck!" Kademan shouted.

"Another Ember!"

The spinarak survived the peck, barely, and due to Blaze still being scared, got in another poison sting on the fire mouse. But, it was all over for the third spinarak, as it was torched by the flaming embers. 4 exp to Blaze, 2 each to Alloy and Magby.

The spinaraks just stood there. They were apparantly holding back on the big shadows command.

"Alright," Kademan began, "How do we get out of this?"

Chris quickly recalled Blaze.

"Wait, that's probably a Pokemon up there. Can Pokedexes 'see' in the dark?"

Yes, yes they could, seeing as they used a radar like technology.

Chris almost did a spit-take, but had nothing to spew out of his mouth. He didn't doubt, though, that the Ariados did.

"Looks like diplomacy may be the best option?" Chris shrugged to Kademan.
